KUALA KUBU BARU - A 54-YEAR-OLD yoga instructor was arrested for allegedly holding three girls as sex slaves in his house for about a month.
He was arrested after police raided his house near here yesterday evening and rescued the girls. Two of the victims are 16 while the other is 20.
It is believed that the man had repeatedly raped and sexually assaulted the girls, who were believed to have been shackled and chained to a bed in the house. They had been reported missing since late November.
It is learnt that the man had lured the girls to his house before raping them. Police formed a special task force to investigate the case after one of the victim's parents, a 38-year-old rubber tapper, lodged a police report on Nov 30.
Selangor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Tun Hisan Hamzah confirmed the arrest. 'We found two packets of drugs believed to be syabu in the house,' he said. Police also found a sex toy during the raid.
DCP Tun Hisan said the yoga instructor was wanted by police and had a criminal record. 'The victims have been sent to Kuala Kubu Baru hospital for a medical check-up,' he said.

Six men, aged from 19 to 35 at the time of their offences, have already been dealt with in court. Their punishments ranged from fines to an 18-month jail term.
But The Straits Times understands that an additional nine men have been charged with having sexual relations with her, but there is no outcome yet on their convictions.
The case is believed to be the most severe - involving such a young girl - to have come before the courts.
Said criminal lawyer Sashi Nathan: 'As far as courts are concerned, this is the largest number of men involved that I have heard of. But I'm not particularly surprised because of the amount of access young people have to the Web.'

Schoolgirl, 16 kidnapped, raped in M'sia
KUALA TERENGGANU - A 16-YEAR-OLD schoolgirl was abducted and alleged to have been raped by three men known to her brother, police said on Tuesday.
Trengganu Criminal Investigation Department chief ACP K Manoharan said the girl was abducted from her home at Kampung Belukar Gerek at about 4am on Monday, Bernama reported.
A man had knocked on the door and, when her 54-year-old mother opened it, rushed in and pulled the girl by the hand to a car and drove away with her, he told reporters here. Later that morning, her elder sister received a call from a 14-year-old schoolgirl who told her that the abducted girl was all right, Mr Manoharan said.
He said the girl also told her that her 31-year-old brother was with the three men, aged 20 to 27. Mr Manoharan said that police traced the phone call to a house in Kampung Pasir Panjang here and arrested two of the suspects at about 12.20pm the same day. The third suspect was arrested soon after when he sent the girl home, he said.

Man jailed for sex with 2 underage girls
A MAN who had sex with two underage girls a few years ago was sentenced to 15 months' jail on Tuesday.
But Aaron Kok Chun Cheong, 23, will only start his sentence on Tuesday, Jan 4, 2011, as he wanted to spend the New Year with his family.
Kok, now a trainee at National Institute of Education (NIE), was in national service at the time of the offences in 2007 and 2008.
The court heard that he got to know the two girls through an Internet chatline in 2006.
He had sex with a 15-year-old student at a toilet for the handicapped in West Mall shopping centre on April 20, 2008, a day after his return from NS training in Taiwan.
Earlier in September 2007, he had invited the other girl, then 12, to his flat where he had sex with her in his bedroom.
The offences came to light when the younger girl was found to be pregnant and was warded in hospital in July 2008. The girl, who terminated the pregnancy, had told the police that she had engaged in sex with several male persons.
Kok was not the biological father of the foetus.
Three other charges were taken into consideration during his sentencing.
Defence counsel Amolat Singh said Kok - who had a good record in polytechnic and during his national service - would have to pay liquidated damages amounting to $50,000 to $60,000 to the NIE for breaching his training contract.

Woman sues ex boyfriend over naked photos
SINGAPORE - A WOMAN lodged a police report in Singapore complaining that she was cheated by her former boyfriend, who took nude pictures of her and posted them on the Internet.
China Press reported that the pictures were offered for viewing at S$150.
The victim from Hangzhou, China, identified as Ms Lee, 26, said the man collected the money but did not share a single cent with her. Instead, he broke off the relationship. Ms Lee and her boyfriend graduated from an arts college in Singapore before they started dating and living in together.
However, Ms Lee said she could not get a job after graduation and tried her luck at modelling. She even attended a modelling course. However, she failed in several auditions.
In 2008, the boyfriend showed her some photographs and asked her to pose naked for 'art photos' to earn some income. The man produced 28 photo albums, uploaded them on the Internet and charged a viewing fee of S$150 for each album.
Ms Lee has engaged a lawyer to take legal action against her former boyfriend.

Dead man in mortuary impregnates woman
The Rolling Stones said it best, “You, you make a dead man cum.” A 38 year old female mortuary worker is being held on $250,000 bond after becoming pregnant by one of her clients-a dead man. The alleged crime took place at the Mourning Glory Mortuary just outside of Lexington, Missouri. Police have charged Felicity Marmaduke with desecration of the dead and necrophilia.
According to a statement made to police by Marmaduke, the alleged victim experienced a post mortem erection while being bathed. Being alone, Marmaduke straddled the dead man and proceeded have sex with him. Much to her surprise, the alleged victim came to orgasm after several minutes. A few weeks later, Marmaduke had a positive pregnancy test while receiving a routine medical exam. Upon telling her doctor the circumstances leading to the conception, the police were notified. Marmaduke was arrested without incident at her dilapidated trailer home a few blocks from the mortuary.

Sex addicts fear intimacy: study
WELLINGTON: Sex addicts feel threatened by intimacy and are more insecure about romantic relationships than the rest of the population, a New Zealand study has found.
The survey of more than 600 people found those who indulged in compulsive sexual behaviour felt anxious and insecure about relationships and tried to avoid becoming too emotionally attached to others.
Massey University said the study, conducted by psychology honours student Karen Faislander under the supervision of a practising clinical psychologist and an academic specialist, was the first of its type in New Zealand.
Faislander said sex addiction, which made headlines this year with revelations about Tiger Woods' love life, was a complex condition that had not been researched as thoroughly as areas such as substance abuse or depression.
She said the term "sex addict" first emerged in the early 1980s and there were 29 other terms in scientific literature that described the condition, including sexual compulsivity, excessive sexual desire disorder and hypersexuality.
The preferred contemporary term is out-of-control sexual behaviours (OOSCH).
"It's widely misunderstood and stigmatised," Faislander told AFP.
"There's no known effective treatment. We don't know what causes it or how we treat it."
Because of the embarrassment people feel discussing the subject, Faislander's study used an anonymous online survey to quiz 621 people about their sex lives. 407 identified themselves as sex addicts while 214 were not.
The survey asked if they engaged in online sex, prostitution, sex in public or with multiple partners, as well as examining areas such as alcohol use and feelings of self worth.
"The OOCSB group reported higher rates of insecure styles of attachment, characterised by a perspective of relationships as threatening, and feelings of either anxiety towards or avoidance of closeness or intimacy," the study found.
In contrast, non-sex addicts found intimacy desirable and rewarding, felt secure in relationships and regarded their partners as trustworthy.
Faislander said studies estimated three to six per cent of the population had the condition in the US, where sex addiction clinics have sprung up in recent years treating stars such as Woods, actor David Duchovny and comedian Russell Brand.
She said no such treatment was available in New Zealand, where self-help groups including Sex and Love Addicts and Sexaholics Anonymous use 12-step programmes based on those pioneered by Alcoholics Anonymous.
While Faislander's study was not peer reviewed, she hopes to gain a doctorate in clinical psychology and conduct further research on treating out-of-control sexual behaviours.

Last Wednesday, a 15-year-old victim 'Ah Sze' from Hong Kong discovered the man known as 'Ah Dick' had 1,060 nude photos of at least 70 young girls and more than 10 video clips of him having sex with them on his mobile phone.
The daily quoted Ah Sze as saying that Ah Dick claimed that he would pay her HK$48,000 (S$8,096.90) in exchange for sex to wash away his bad luck. However, Ah Dick disappeared after he had sex with Ah Sze without paying her anything.

PRIMARY school teacher, who tried to get two 13-year-old secondary school boys to join him and watch pornography and masturbate, was jailed for 10 months.
Chock Soon Seng, who pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a child, is appealing against the sentence. He is out on $20,000 bail.
A district court heard on Thursday that Chock, 33, posing as a polytechnic student, got to know a Secondary One student in May 2009 over the Internet and exchanged mobile phone numbers. The following day, Chock got the boy to text him the telephone numbers of two friends.
Chock wasted no time messaging one of the boy's friends inviting him to come and see obscene films and masturbate together the very next day.
The victim told his mother and his parents reported the matter to the police. The mother and the son then met up with the boy's discipline master, who called Chock and arranged to meet him at a nearby neighbourhood police post that evening on May 7.
When confronted there, he admitted sending the lewd messages and apologised to the mothers. Investigations then revealed that Chock had done something similar to another 13-year-old boy attending another secondary school in 2008.

'Such an alarming activity also involved schoolboys aged between 14 and 16, who have already had sex with their girlfriends,' SAC Mazlan told reporters on Wednesday.
Between January and Dec 12, he said 296 rape cases were reported to the police including the 'exchange' of girlfriends for a supply of pil kuda.
He urged parents to monitor their daughters' activities to prevent them from getting involved with drug addicts.

Upskirt pervert jailed
A SALES manager who took about 200 upskirt videos of unsuspecting women with a camera pen was sentenced to nine months' jail on Tuesday.
Soo Ee Hock, 35, intends to appeal and bail of $20,000 was offered.
The married man had pleaded guilty two weeks ago, to 12 of 201 counts of intruding into the privacy of women between November 2008 and March last year.
He would clip the pen with a built-in video camera onto his laptop bag and place it under the skirt of the unknown female standing in front of him on an escalator, to capture an upskirt digital video recording of her thighs and underwear.
He was arrested at Junction 8 Bishan Shopping Centre on July 7, 2009.
District Judge Lee Poh Choo said Soo knew full well what he was doing and was a serial offender. She said he intended to keep those images for a long time as he had burnt them onto a CD, and 'that shows the extent of his perverted mind'.
Soo could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined on each charge.

Jail, caning for molester
A 42-YEAR-OLD man who was found guilty of molesting his stepdaughter and forcing her to perform oral sex was sentenced to 44 months' jail and 12 strokes of the cane on Friday.
The safety supervisor was convicted last week of seven charges after a five-day trial.
The hearing was held in camera behind closed doors.
He was found guilty of using criminal force to outrage the girl's modesty between 2007 and 2009. The girl is now 15 years old.
The accused - who conducted his own defence - intends to appeal against conviction and sentence. Bail of $25,000 was offered, pending the appeal.

A POLYTECHNIC student charged last week with outrage of modesty and theft was accused of three more counts of molestation and one of fraudulent possession on Friday.
Jee Guang You, 23, a Nanyang Polytechnic student, is said to have caressed three young women on different days at the polytechnic library at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 in November.
He is also accused of fraudulently having six pieces of women's undergarments, suspected to have been stolen or fraudulently obtained, at Block 360 Bukit Batok Street 31 on Dec 1.
Jee, who was represented by Mr Jeevan John, was remanded for psychiatric assessment.
He will appear in court again on Dec 24.
The maximum penalty for molestation is two years' jail, a fine and caning. For fraudulent possession, the punishment is a fine of up to $3,000 and/or a jail term of up to one year.

School house mistress guilty of sex offences against boys
A former house mistress at an exclusive school was found guilty today of sex offences against boys in her care.
The woman, 41, whose name has been suppressed by the court, had oral sex and sexual intercourse with six boys aged 11 and 12 over a period of five months last year.
In the NSW District Court today, Judge Anthony Garling rejected the woman's defence that she was not guilty because of mental illness.

Girl, 11, raped over 100 times in 3 months
THE incident of a young girl who was raped over 100 times in three months was only exposed a few days ago when her mother wrote about it in her weibo (micro-blogging site) last month.
Tang Juan from Yongzhou in China appealed to the pubic for medicinal prescriptions to help her daughter, 11, who had contracted a sexually-transmitted disease.
The girl also suffers from minor mental problems after the rapes, reported The Daily Chilli.
On Oct 1, 2006, her daughter followed Zhou Junhui, 23, to dinner - a man whom she had just befriended at an ice-skating arena.
Zhou took her to a video shop after dinner and raped her several times.
He threatened to tell her teachers and classmates, and even kill her entire family, if she told anyone of the rapes.
Two days later, Zhou forced her to follow him to "work".
The girl then left a note for her parents: "Mama, I can't study anymore, they wnt me to work, I must go. Mama, I will be back, I must come back..."
Tang lodged a police report and went in search for her daughter.
Tang Juan is being consoled by her husband when she cries while talking about her daughter's ordeal.
She also started placing missing person notices in various places.
In Dec 2005, a man called and told her he saw her daughter at a leisure club. Police managed to rescue the young girl from that place.
This was when she told her mother that she was assaulted and forced into prostitution.
She said she had sex for over 100 times since she left home and at one time, she was even gang-raped by four men for five hours.
The young girl was given 30 yuan (S$5.92) for every customer she served, while the boss at the leisure club took 70 yuan.
Zhou took all the money she earned.
Police have charged seven people in connection with the case.

Calls to end child marriages rejected
KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIA'S law minister on Wednesday shot down calls to ban underage marriage, despite an uproar over the recent wedding of a 14-year-old Muslim school girl.
Siti Maryam Mahmod wed 23-year-old teacher Abdul Manan Othman last weekend in a mass wedding at a major mosque, after being given permission in an Islamic Sharia court.
Malaysian Muslims below the age of 16 are allowed to marry as long as they obtain the permission of the religious courts. Sharia law runs in parallel with civil law in the multi-ethnic country.
Nazri Aziz, a minister in the premier's department in charge of legal affairs, said the government has no plan to review laws allowing for underage marriages because the practice is permitted under Islam.
'If the religion allows it, then we can't legislate against it,' he told a press conference.
'Islam allows it as long as the girl is considered to have reached her pubescent stage, once she has her menstruation,' he added.

Man held for sexually abusing brother's girlfriend
A WOULD-BE rapist changed his mind when it turned out his brother's girlfriend was having her period.
Instead, he forced her to masturbate him, Harian Metro reported.
Earlier, the man had taken his younger brother and the woman to a hotel in Jalan Doraisamy.
The younger man got drunk at a nearby restaurant but did not want to go back for fear his family would know that he had been drinking.
So, he called his brother, who took them back to the hotel at about 11pm on Friday.
The younger man, however, passed out on the bed in the hotel room.
The woman wanted to go home but was stopped by the elder brother, in his 30s, who wanted to have sex with her.
However, he decided against it after learning the woman was menstruating.
The victim complained to her family about the incident the next day and made a police report.

Barbie doll can be used for child porn: FBI
LOS ANGELES - THE FBI has issued a 'cyber crime alert' for a new Barbie doll that comes equipped with a tiny hidden video camera in her chest, saying the toy could be misused to make child porn.
The report, issued by the FBI's Sacramento field office Nov 30 and titled 'Barbie 'Video Girl' a Possible Child Pornography Production Method,' warns that the doll's camera captures up to 30 minutes of footage that can be downloaded to a computer.
The alert received media coverage after being sent to some news organisations by mistake. An FBI spokesman downplayed the report and said it was for use by law enforcement.
'There have been no reported incidents of this doll being used as anything other than as intended,' Washington-based FBI spokeswoman Jenny Shearer said, reading from a statement.
'For clarification purposes, the alert's intent was to insure that law enforcement agencies were aware that the doll, like any other video-capable equipment, could contain evidence and to not disregard such an item during a search,' she said.
The Barbie Video Girl Doll, which is manufactured by Mattel Inc and first went on sale in July, contains a small video camera in its chest, concealed inside a locket. Footage from the camera can be viewed on an LCD screen in the doll's back or downloaded to a computer. The FBI alert said there was no indication it could be streamed directly to the Internet.

Vietnam demotes police for naked film
HANOI - AUTHORITIES in northern Vietnam have demoted five policemen for filming the arrest of two naked prostitutes after the footage was posted on the Internet, police said on Tuesday.
The policemen were disciplined for ethical violations, said Le Binh, police spokesman in northern province of Quang Ninh. A sixth officer was given a warning.
One of the six policemen used his mobile phone to film the women during their arrest in June with two male clients, which they claimed would be used as evidence, state media have reported.
The clip shows the women with a shirtless client in what appears to be a hotel room, while several other men in civilian clothes take notes. The women try to cover themselves but are ordered to stand and put their hands up for one of the clothed men to take pictures.
The identities of the clothed men is not clear. The video has circulated on websites, causing public outrage at authorities abusing their power.
Mr Binh said police are still investigating how the clip was posted on the Internet.

No plea was taken from Jee Guang You, a Nanyang Polytechnic student, who was remanded a week for investigation.

He is also said to have stolen three black brassiere worth $15 outside a flat at Block 361 Bukit Batok Street 31 on Wednesday.
If convicted of outrage of modesty, he faces a jail term of up to two years or fine or caning or any combination of the punishments.

OVER 70 per cent of gay and bisexual Asian men use the Internet to find sexual partners. About 60 per cent said they travelled, and of these, 12 per cent attended private sex parties while overseas, according to an online survey by gay lifestyle portal Fridae.com.
Such private sex parties were the 'epicentre' of sexual infections like HIV, overriding other common meeting places like public saunas, said Dr Stuart Koe, founder of the portal which is based in Singapore. Eight per cent of those who travelled also had unprotected sex while abroad, he added.
The findings were released yesterday at the first-ever Asian regional conference to tackle HIV among gay men and transgender people.
Dr Koe, who presented the findings at the Developed Asia Regional Consultation on HIV in MSM (men who have sex with men) and transgender people, called for a regional response to counter the problem that private sex parties posed towards the spread of HIV.
'This is where the highest-risk sex is happening - where the rates of condom use are the lowest, the prevalence of HIV the highest, and drug use is also the highest,' he said.
That people can hook up with sex partners by a simple click of the mouse has also resulted in the trend going regional.

23-year-old molester arrested
Police have arrested a 23-year-old man believed to be involved in several cases of outrage of modesty at Nanyang Polytechnic in Ang Mo Kio.
Police received two reports of outrage of modesty in November, involving female students at the polytechnic.
The suspect was arrested at his home in Bukit Batok Street 31 on Wednesday.
Police said the suspect is believed to be involved in at least four cases of outrage of modesty in the Ang Mo Kio area.
Several pieces of lingerie, believed to be stolen items, were also recovered from the suspect's residence and seized as case exhibits.
The suspect will be charged in Court on Friday.
If convicted, he may be jailed up to two years, fined and caned.

A BUSINESSMAN who followed a woman home and molested her outside her unit was jailed for six months on Wednesday.
Kuan Wei Tzuu, 34, pleaded guilty to stroking the 24-year-old waitress' upper body and grabbing her breast outside her flat in Toa Payoh on April 15.
The court heard that while the engineering graduate was at the Toa Payoh Bus Interchange, he saw the victim and decided to follow her.
He took the same feeder bus as her and alighted at a bus stop along Braddell Road sometime past midnight.
She took the lift while he walked up the stairs. When she was opening the door to her flat, he rushed towards her and outraged her modesty. She screamed for help and he fled.
Kuan, who was arrested at his home 11 days later, could have been jailed for up to two years or fined or caned or received any combined punishment.

A FORMER Singapore Zoological Gardens veterinarian was charged in court on Monday with four counts of molesting a 21-year-old woman.
Oh Soon Hock, 52, who is now working elsewhere, allegedly molested the young woman then working at the zoo between January and March 27 last year.
Then head of veterinary department, he allegedly squeezed the woman's breasts and kissed her on two of the occasions at Mandai Lake Road.
Oh, who joined the zoo in 1990, quit in April last year.
Oh, also a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, is represented by Mr Shashi Nathan and Ms Tania Chin.
Bail of $15,000 was offered. A pre-trial conference has been fixed for Jan 10.

Raped by dad for 30 years
BUENOS AIRES - AUTHORITIES in rural Argentina have arrested a 62-year-old man for raping his own daughter for more than three decades and fathering 10 children with her, the judge in the case said on Wednesday.
'The accused denied the allegations but DNA tests have confirmed paternity,' Judge Virgilio Palud told local radio.
The man was charged with repeated sexual abuse and incest, crimes which carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, the judge said.

Man admits to tainting colleagues' drinking water with semen
Sim Keng Tee, 39, pleaded guilty on Wednesday afternoon to two charges of mischief where he tainted two of his female colleagues' drinking water with his semen.
This was two of 10 offences he pleaded guilty to in court. The names of victims were not revealed to protect their identities.
The civilian officer in the Singapore Police Force mixed semen into his colleagues' drinking water on two separate occasions in 2008 at his office along Irrawady Road. He has since been relieved of his position in the police force.
On February 21 2008, he masturbated to a photograph of his female colleague, and collected the semen in a small bottle. He recorded himself doing this on his handphone.
He then returned to his office and waited for her to leave her desk temporarily. When she did, Sim mixed his semen with the drinking water in her water bottle. He also recorded this.
As the water bottle was tinted red the victim did not realised the water was no longer clear.
Sim then struck up a conversation with the victim when she returned to her desk and secretly recorded her drinking the tainted water.
Two months later, on April 2, 2008, Sim repeated his actions with a second female colleague.
This time, instead of pouring the semen into her water bottle, he poured it into her bottle of green tea.
As the bottle was wrapped in plastic, the victim did not realise the difference. Again Sim, struck up a conversation with his victim while he recorded her drinking the water mixed with his semen.
Sim saved these videos on his personal computer at home.
These videos and more were discovered in a police raid conducted in 2009 when a third female colleague reported him to the authorities after she caught him taking up-skirt photos of her.
The police raid also revealed that Sim had taken videos of four of his colleagues and had organised the videos on his personal computer into separate folders named after each victim.
How he was discovered
On September 10, 2009, Sim approached a colleague at her desk and asked her to pass him a stack of documents.
While she was standing up, Sim squatted on the opposite side of the desk.
When she turned around, she noticed that Sim was holding his mobile phone under her skirt.
After a struggle, she managed to grab the phone and discovered the upskirt shots of herself.
She then reported the matter.
In court today, Sim pleaded for leniency saying he had voluntarily put himself through medical check ups and counselling sessions.
Further to the 10 charges that Sim pleaded guilty to, another 149 charges will be taken into consideration for sentencing to be held on December 1, 2010.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Kumaresan s/o Gohulabalam requested for a substantial jail term because of the number of charges brought to light.
For intending to intrude upon the privacy of a woman, Sim faces imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year or a fine, or both, for each of the eight charges at hand.
He also faces imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year or a fine, or both, for each of the two charges of mischief faced.

Brazil doctor sentenced to 278 years for raping patients
SAO PAULO - A Brazilian reproductive medicine specialist was sentenced to 278 years in prison for sexually abusing 39 of his patients, local media reported Tuesday.
Roger Abdelmassih, a well-known Sao Paulo fertility doctor, was accused of 56 cases of sexual abuse of patients in his private clinic.
He was convicted of abusing patients both during exams and sometimes when they were in recovery rooms.
His lawyer, Jose Luis Olivera Lima, said that he respected the ruling but thought the judge was too hard on his client.
Despite the long sentence, the maximum Abdelmassih can be imprisoned under Brazilian law is 30 years

Driver nabbed over rape-murder of schoolgirl
TELUK INTAN: Police have nabbed the suspected rapist and murderer of schoolgirl M. Divya Barathi, whose body was found in a drain near an oil palm estate here last month.
The 28-year-old lorry driver admitted to the attack on the girl after he was arrested in connection with another case last week, said Hilir Perak deputy OCPD Supt Mohd Zaki Harun.
“The suspect was caught by hotel employees when he tried to slash the throat of a customer during a robbery.
“When interrogated, he admitted to the rape and murder of Divya Barathi,” said Supt Mohd Zaki.
The suspect is being remanded until today.
On Oct 16, the naked body of the 16-year-old Fourth Former of SM Horley Methodist here was found in a drain near the Ladang Rubana oil palm estate.
Since then, nine people had been picked up for questioning but police were unable to link them to the rape or murder.
Her father K. Murali, 43, had told police that he last saw his daughter getting off a bus and walking into the estate where they live when returning home from a tuition class in town.

But Al-Habib Sheih Haji Ismail Al Mahberoh, 55, went on to molest the 13-year-old in the toilet of her home.
Initially jailed for 10 months by a district court in July, he will now be behind bars for two years instead, following a successful appeal to the High Court yesterday for a harsher penalty to reflect the heinousness of his crime.
The girl, now 15, and her family cannot be named under a court order.
Al-Habib had approached the girl's mother in a shop, as she was talking to a friend about the stroke which left her wheelchair-bound. He said he could cure her, and gave her his name card.

A 36-year-old man has been charged with abusing and sexually attacking a 17-month-old girl in Taiwan.
The girl was bleeding profusely when she was sent to the hospital in July.
Doctors were forced to remove 13cm of her small intestine to save her life.
They noticed the girl's hymen was torn and she had other injuries on her body.
A doctor informed the Taichung Bureau of Social Affairs and the police.
The toddler was temporally placed under the care of the suspect - whom her mother knew through church activities - after she was sentenced to jail for cheating in April.
After investigations, police arrested the man and charged him in court.

14 years jail for 'Uncle'
KUALA LUMPUR - A TAXI driver who called himself 'Uncle' was jailed 14 years and ordered to be whipped five times for raping, attempting to rape and molesting seven underage girls.
He was sentenced to 82 years in jail but will only be behind bars for 14 years as the Ampang Sessions Court ordered that the sentences run concurrently from his date of arrest.
Chin Hock Nam, 54, changed his mind and pleaded guilty to all charges when the case, which was supposed to be tried in camera, began yesterday.
In sentencing, Ampang Sessions Court judge Azwarnida Affandi said she took into consideration the fact that the offences had become rampant and that all his victims were underage as well as Chin's guilty plea.
Judge Azwarnida jailed him 14 years and ordered that Chin be caned twice for each of the two counts of rape. She also jailed him 14 years and ordered him to be whipped once for the attempted rape charge.

Teenager raped at knife-point by 10 women
SYDNEY: A 17-year-old boy was gang raped by 10 knife-wielding women in Papua New Guinea, a media report said Monday.
The gang of women attacked the schoolboy near Mendi town in Southern Highlands province during the weekend, police official Teddy Tei said.
"More than 10 women with kitchen knives attacked him and four women had sexual intercourse with him. The boy was taken to hospital for treatment," he was quoted as saying by Australia's AAP news agency.
Tei said he feared the women may have infected the young man with HIV/AIDS.
"HIV/AIDS is a problem in Papua New Guinea and I am concerned the women might be infected. I always warn the women to be careful at night but I am now warning the men too," he said.
A UNICEF report says Papua New Guinea has one of the world's highest rates of sexual violence.

AN ODD-JOB worker was yesterday convicted of raping and sexually abusing his daughter over a period of 10 years, beginning when she was only six years old.
The 35-year-old man was found guilty of all five charges he was on trial for - three of rape and one charge each of oral sex and molestation between 1999 and last year.
He denied all the charges, claiming that the teenager, the eldest of his three children, had cooked up the allegations.
Neither can be named to protect the identity of the girl, now 17 years old.
The abuse began in 1999, when her father made her perform oral sex on him. She was only six then.
A year later, he raped her twice in the living room of their rented two-room flat.

Internet revenge after being dumped
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - Lin (not her real name), a college student from Rawang, Selangor, was 18 when she met Peter (not his real name).
The couple had dated for more than a year when Lin decided to end the stormy relationship.
Vengeful, Peter posted her nude pictures and video clips of them having sex on the Internet.
Peter, who had belonged to a Rawang gang, also converted the video clips into a DVD and forwarded it to her father, a postman in his 50s.
"I am so ashamed and unable to go out of my house. My family has had to suffer because of my mistakes," Lin said.
The family approached MIC Youth for help. The wing turned the young man in to the police, who confiscated his mobile phone.
"But the damage has been done. My future has been destroyed. I shouldn't have done what I did," Lin said in a telephone interview.
Another woman from Kampar, Perak, who only wants to known as Hani, was promised a job as an actress and a dancer in local movies by a man from here.
Thinking that the man truly loved her and had her interests at heart, she did everything he wanted.
He also took nude pictures of her and their sex acts.
Soon, she was made to sleep with other men who were said to be "film producers".
Realising her folly, Hani wanted to return to her parents' home, but was threatened that her pictures would be posted on the Internet if she did.
It was nearly two years later that she managed to seek help from MIC.
By then, she had slept with more than 20 men and had given birth to a child, who was given up for adoption.
These are some of the cases that have come to the attention of MIC Youth in the last three years.
Why do women allow themselves to be caught in such situation?
According to University Malaya Medical Centre psychiatrist Dr Jesjeet Singh Gill, young girls pose nude for their boyfriends because they are immature and too trusting of their boyfriends.
"They would do anything to prove their love to their boyfriends."
He said when older women did it, it was normally because of their personality, being either too dependent or insecure and fearful of abandonment.
"These women know what they are doing is wrong, yet they do it to please their men."
He said girls and women from from all walks of life had fallen prey to "sextortionists" who posted their nude pictures and video clips on the Net.
Dr Jesjeet said parents must supervise their children, know who their friends are and what they are doing. He said it was also important for them to educate their children on the dangers of the Internet.
"Older women need to be made aware of the dangers."

Jonathan Wong an MOE scholar
SINGAPORE: Child pornography videos, some featuring girls as young as six and some lasting longer than an hour, were found in the possession of a Ministry of Education (MOE) scholar studying in Britain.
Singaporean Jonathan Wong, a third-year history major at the University of York, pleaded guilty on Monday to 17 charges of owning child pornography videos since July 2008.
Twenty-three-year-old Wong could be facing more than a year in jail after the magistrate's court in York decided that its maximum sentencing power of 12 months in prison was insufficient and committed him instead to the York Crown Court where he will be sentenced on Dec 13, the city's The Press newspaper reported.
In reply to media queries, the ministry said it was looking into the matter and added it "will take the necessary disciplinary action against those (scholars) who have behaved inappropriately".
The Press said Wong's offences came to light after fellow students alerted the campus authorities about suspicious audio files being uploaded onto the university's intranet.
After tracing the files to Wong, the police confiscated his computer hard disk drive and found 50 videos - 25 of which were rated as "four" on the Copine scale.
On this scale used to rate the severity of child pornography, levels "four" and "five" constitute hardcore pornography.
The North Yorkshire police told MediaCorp on Thursday that Wong was arrested on March 19, adding that he did not produce the videos but downloaded some of them from the Internet.
According to The Press, UK prosecutor Martin Butterworth told the court: "We are talking about girls as young as six. Of the movies, some of them are graphic, some of them have audio, some of them last more than an hour."
Since the case surfaced in the local Chinese media and online, Singaporeans and those acquainted with Wong have berated him and expressed shock over his actions.
A Singaporean student at University of York, however, painted a different picture of him. Describing Wong as a "big brother", he told MediaCorp: "Jonathan is a nice, generous and helpful person ... He gave me medicine when I was sick and he cooked us meals."
The 22-year-old, who said he has known Wong for over a year, added: "He does not like loud parties but prefers a quiet peaceful dinner with friends ... I am disgusted by what he has done but I feel sorry for him too as a friend."

A THIRD year history student of the University of York, said to be from Singapore, faces jail after he pleaded guilty to 17 charges of making a child pornography video, featuring girls as young as six over more than a year.
Jonathan Wong, 23, of Goodricke College, was arrested after hardcore child pornography was found on his computer by fellow students, according to The Press of York, in UK. The audio files can be viewed via the university's internal network by registered users with a password.
When police were alerted, they found images and videos, some of which lasted over an hour long. About 50 videos were found, 25 of which were rated in some of the highest categories of hardcore pornography, said The Press report.
Wong on Tuesday pleaded guilty to 17 charges of making child pornography between July 15, 2008 and March 19, 2009. Martin Butterworth, of the Crown Prosecution Service told magistrates that some of the girls featured in the videos looked as 'young as six'.
'Of the movies, some of them are graphic, some of them have audio, some of them last more than an hour,' he was quoted by The Press as saying.
Magistrates said that the severity of the case meant Wong could not be sentenced at crown prosecution where the maximum sentence would only be 12 months. He will instead be sentenced at York Crown Court on Dec 13.

Man pleads guilty to persuading underaged girls to commit sex acts
A man who persuaded two underaged girls to carry out sex acts on him and a teenaged boy, pleaded guilty to his crimes in court yesterday.
The 26-year-old got acquainted with the 15-year-old secondary school boy in a gaming shop in January 2008.
They cannot be named to protect the girls' identities.
Six months later, the boy introduced him to two 12-year-old girls.
The man got into a romantic relationship with one of them, which lasted only one day.
But three days after they broke up, the girl told him that she wanted to go swimming with him.
The four friends then decided to spend the afternoon at a pool in a condominium.
After the swim on Aug 8, 2008, the four went to a toilet for handicapped people where the girls masturbated them.
The girls later made a police report.
Mr Benedict Teo, who is representing the man, told the court his client suffers from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and has social adjustment problems which make it difficult for him to make friends with his peers.
Mr Teo said the four had agreed to the acts and were engaging in a one-off act of sexual experimentation.
The boy had been sentenced to 15 months' probation in July.
District Judge Low Wee Ping said that it was irrelevant to discuss if the victim gave her consent as the man had been charged under the Children and Young Persons Act.
Judge Low reiterated: "It is inferred by law that a victim of that age is incapable of giving consent, even if she said 'yes'."

Bomoh's rape ploy to marry patient
MALAYSIA - A bomoh raped his patient during a "healing" session so he could have her for his wife, reported Harian Metro.
In an interview with the tabloid, the 38-year-old businesswoman, known only as Shidah, said she had gone to see the bomoh at his home in Taman Suria, Kluang, last April to get rid of bad luck.
"When I was told to follow him upstairs alone, I was worried but my cousin, who was with me, said it was standard procedure as the bomoh did not want to be disturbed during the session," she said, adding that upon entering the room, she was made to drink a potion.
Shidah, who is married, said the bomoh told her to lie down on a prayer mat before taking off her clothes, adding that at this point, her worries "melted away" as the man rubbed oil on her body, then raped her.
She said the bomoh threatened her not to tell anyone about the incident before giving her another potion.
Shidah said the potion was ineffective in improving her business but it affected her sex life to the extent that her husband had asked her for a divorce.
She said when the bomoh came to see her later, he expressed surprise that her husband was "still around" and confessed to having raped her so that he could marry her after her divorce.

M'sia to start sex education
KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIA'S deputy education minister said on Thursday sex education would be taught in schools across the conservative Muslim-majority country next year, to tackle an epidemic of 'baby-dumping'.
Wee Ka Siong told AFP the classes, which would be called 'social and reproductive-health education,' would be introduced at all secondary schools in January 2011 as part of the curriculum.
'We must fight this problem of unwanted pregnancies, baby-dumping, among teenagers and promiscuity,' Mr Wee said, adding that 'this can only be done through education, by giving boys and girls enough information so they can make the right decision.
'This course is not to sensationalise sex or promote promiscuity. The classes starting in January 2011 will give students information on what they are going through in terms of puberty and adolescence so that they don't end up getting pregnant or becoming promiscuous'.
Last month, Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said the classes were being considered as part of a plan to curb baby-dumping, in which babies have been left to die in toilets and on garbage dumps.

"Heartbeat molester" charged with molesting 27 children
SINGAPORE : The man dubbed the "heartbeat molester" was charged in court on Thursday with molesting 27 more children.
This is in addition to the charge last week where he allegedly stroked an 11-year-old girl on her right arm and sliding his fingers beneath her shirt sleeve at a staircase landing in Hougang.
Martin Tan Chye Guan, 47, was accused of molesting the 27 girls between February 1, 1999 and October 8 this year.
The youngest victim was eight years old, while the oldest was 12.
Tan allegedly molested them in staircase landings across housing estates in Singapore.
In some instances, he purportedly grabbed the girls' hands and placed them on his private parts.
Three of his fanily members were present in court on Thursday.
A bail of S$50,000 was offered and Tan's passport was also ordered to be impounded.
If convicted, he can be jailed up to five years and fined or caned.

Scott Eby pleaded guilty on Wednesday in Will County Circuit Court under a deal that spares him the death penalty. Eby was in prison for a 2005 sexual assault when he was charged in May for Riley Fox's death.

Man fined $3k for oral sex
AN OPERATIONS admin worker was fined $3,000 on Wednesday after being caught engaging in oral sex with another man in a shopping mall toilet cubicle.
On March 9, police received a call from a waiter working at a nearby cafe complaining of two middle-aged Chinese men, Chin Chee Shyong, 40, and Tan Eng Hong, 47, having oral sex in the toilet.
The waiter was in the toilet when he heard 'moaning and groaning' from the first and second cubicles.
His colleague recorded the incident on video, which showed Chin engaging in oral sex with Tan. The complainant then called the police. But the pair left the toilet before the police came.
The offenders returned soon after, and entered the same public toilet. The complainant called the police, who arrived on the scene and confronted the two, asking them to come out of the cubicle.
Sensing a delay, Sergeant Mohd Faizal Bin Rosli climbed on top of the toilet bowl in the third cubicle and saw Tan, wearing only his shirt, throwing an unrolled condom into the toilet bowl. Sgt Faizal told Tan not to flush and to open the door.
When Tan opened the door, Sgt Faizal climbed on top of the toilet bowl in the second cubicle and saw Chin putting on his socks. When grilled by police, Tan admitted to performing fellatio on Chin. The two were arrested.
Chin was found guilty of performing an obscene act in a public place and fined $3,000. Tan has yet to be sentenced.

On Wednesday, District Judge Ch'ng Lye Beng found Tan guilty of drugging and molesting the woman.
The judge said she came across as a 'truthful witness', whose testimony was collaborated by a friend.
The judge will hear mitigation on Nov 22 before passing sentence.
Tan is also facing additional charges of abetting the illegal employment of three foreigners and for forgery and corruption offences.
If convicted of outrage of modesty, Tan, now a business consultant, could be jailed for up to two years and fined or caned. For causing the woman to take poison to facilitate an offence, he could be jailed for up to 10 years and fined or caned.

A 32-YEAR-OLD Chinese national who dragged a woman into some bushes in a deserted area, then raped her, was jailed 16 1/2 years and ordered to be caned 20 strokes.
Prosecutors told the High Court that Dai Yunfa's 25-year-old victim, also a Chinese national, has been deeply traumatised by the attack.
'The accused had callously violated the sanctity of the victim's body after forcibly dragging her to a deserted wooded area, leaving her with painful physical and emotional scars,' said Deputy Public Prosecutor Chua Ying-hong.
The victim, who came here to work in 2008 and holds a white-collar job, cannot be named.
The DPP said that the woman, who has never had a boyfriend, is now worried that her future partner may have misgivings about her if he finds out she had been raped; she is also fearful that her employer may not extend her two-year contract.
On the night of Sept 8 last year, she was accosted by Dai while walking home from a bus stop in the Jurong area along the Ayer Rajah Expressway. She begged him to let her go, offering him her mobile phone and money, asking him to visit a prostitute instead and even offering him oral sex. But he ignored her pleas and threatened to kill her.

NSF pleads guilty to underage sex with girl
SINGAPORE: A 20-year-old full-time National Serviceman has pleaded guilty to having sex with his underage girlfriend whom he had met in September last year through social networking website Facebook.
The Singapore Armed Forces Lance Corporal cannot be named to protect the 14-year-old student's identity.
The tanned, slim, young man had consensual sex with the girl in her flat when she was just 13, last November.
She later told her father about the incident and the police were notified.
Community Court Judge Soh Tze Bian has called for a pre-sentence report and the man will be back in court on November 23.
For having sex with the underage girl, he can be jailed up to five years and fined a maximum of amount of S$10,000.

Men deflated by sex lives
ONLY 0.5 per cent of Chinese men are consistently satisfied with their sexual experiences and the amount of sex they are getting is "far less" than people enjoy in Western countries, according to a new survey.
The survey says that almost 70 per cent of Chinese men have sex between two and five times a month.
"The frequency for men in Western countries is between two and five times a week," said Zhang Yilan, an official from the Chinese Medical Development Research Council who was among the experts involved in the survey.
The research, which took five months to complete and involved 33,000 men, was conducted jointly by the council and Beijing Dawn Hospital. It included an online questionnaire, Beijing-based street interviews and analysis of hospital records.
The findings were released earlier this week. Ms Zhang said the survey set 100 as the maximum for satisfaction from sex.
"Seventy percent of men rated their satisfaction under 60. If we take 60 as a pass score, it means that 70 per cent of men failed. I was surprised by that," she said.

“The rectum was empty,” the former Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) doctor replied under cross-examination from Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s defence lawyer Sankara Nair.
Razali also testified the anal probe he carried out on June 28, 2008 was not the first clinical check done on Saiful.
Razali, now with Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM), admitted under Sankara’s persistent questioning that it was not easy to carry out the proctoscopy examination on Saiful, even with the use of a lubricant.
Any sudden introduction of any instrument into the anus would likely cause injury to the sensitive body part, Razali said.
Saiful, a former male aide to the opposition leader, had accused Anwar of sodomising him in an upscale condominium in leafy Damansara Heights here on June 26, 2008.
Then 23, he had visited Hospital Pusrawi, a private medical centre here, for a check-up after complaining of pain in his anus before being referred to HKL two days later.
A medical report from Pusrawi, leaked to the media last year, revealed the large-eyed and slender youth as claiming he had not passed motion since being sodomised.

A FREELANCE table tennis coach was jailed for six months on Thursday for molesting a 15-year-old student on a bus.
Lim Wai Sin, 50, who suffered from a psychiatric disorder, had admitted to two counts of touching the breast of the victim on the SBSTransit bus travelling along Bedok Reservoir Road and Hougang Central on Oct 28 last year.
The court heard that he boarded the bus at Bedok Bus Interchange and sat next to the victim who moved closer towards the window to give him space in view of his large size.
However, Lim also moved inwards and closer towards her.
During the journey, she felt him touch the right side of her breast with his fingers twice within 20 minutes. On the second occasion, she confronted him and told him to stop.
He then got up and pressed the bell before moving to an empty seat on the opposite side of the bus. The victim told the bus driver to detain Lim as he had molested her.
Two other similar charges were taken into consideration.
Lim, who has two previous convictions, could have been jailed for up to two years and/or fined on each charge.

Student commits suicide after months of gang rape
A 21-year-old MBA student in Patna, India, committed suicide after being subjected to months of sexual abuse by her spurned lover and his friends.
The student, identified only as Arya, was found hanged from the ceiling fan in her apartment.
She left behind a handwritten suicide note, in which she named her "tormentors" and hoped that they would be punished, the Times of India reported Tuesday.
"Copies of my suicide note should be sent to the President, Prime Minister and state chief minister. My tormentors belong to influential families and they can use their influence to save their skin."
"If you fail to do justice to my soul, at least provide protection to my father, mother and brother and do not harass them," the four-page note read.
The names of Arya’s alleged rapists were revealed as Praveen Kumar, Pushkar, Harsh Ranjan and Jyoti Ranjan.
Giving the vivid details of her torture in the note, Arya alleged that Vinit, Pushkar and Harsh raped her regularly.
She wrote that they even made an obscene video of her after threatening to implicate her family members in false cases if she did not cooperate for the shoot, the newspaper report said.
Urging the police to send her body to a medical examination, Arya wrote in her suicide note, "As late as Oct 20, they forced themselves on me; the marks of beating can be seen on my left hand and ear."

Fined for upskirt filming
AN ENGINEER was fined $4,000 on Wednesday for filming the undergarments of a shopper at the Kinokuniya Book Store at Bugis Junction in May 2008.
A district court heard that the 31-year-old woman was reading a book there when she noticed Chong Kim Hong, 28, squatting near her and using the camera on his cell phone to film up her skirt. She told her boyfriend and police were called in.
Defence counsel Josephus Tan said Chong was suffering from emotional stress that caused him to commit the offence.
For insulting the modesty of a woman, Chong could be fined up to $10,000 and/or jailed up to a year.

Girl, 12, falls to her death after sex with three teens

"The victim, who tried to escape by climbing down a wall fell to the ground," said the resident.
Another resident Mohd Zakaria Hamzah, 37, said a few used condoms, a bra and an underwear were found on the sixth floor of the building.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed said one of the teenagers had been detained while the police were still trying to locate the other two boys.

26 years, 24 strokes for rape
UNDER the pretext of teaching her about sex so she would not be cheated by men in the future, an operations supervisor had sex with his girlfriend's daughter and gave her a sexually transmitted disease.
Only after the victim, then aged 14, attended sex education classes last year and found out about sex, masturbation and condoms, did she realise that what he did to her was wrong.
She told her mother and on Tuesday, the 43-year-old man was sentenced to a total of 26 years in jail and 24 strokes of the cane in the High Court.
He had pleaded guilty to raping her on four occasions. Seven other similar offences were taken into consideration by Justice Steven Chong.
The man cannot be named to protect the victim's identity.
The court heard that the bachelor was in a relationship with the girl's mother. The 37-year-old divorcee then moved into his flat with her daughter and son in 2005.
As she was afraid of the dark, she would sleep with the man and her mother. Sometime after she turned 12 in 2007, he touched her private parts as she lay between him and her mother.
When they were both alone in the flat some months later, he tried to have sex with the primary six student but stopped when she complained of pain.
She told police she did not tell anyone then because she did not know what he did was wrong. The next time in the same year, he went all the way wearing a condom.

How the ugly secret was exposed
In late 2008, the mother moved to a rented flat in Boon Lay to be closer to her new office in Jurong. She did not visit the man and their relationship ended. She continued to trust him and the girl stayed on in his flat as it was nearer to her school, only joining her mother on weekends and during the school holidays.
In August last year, the daughter also moved to Boon Lay but would return to his flat to use his computer or collect her belongings. On one such occasion, he had sex with her. She was then aged 14.

Paedophile ex-priest jailed 21 years
A paedophile former priest who fled from the UK to the US in 1985 was jailed for 21 years Friday after a campaign of sexual abuse against young boys that since 1950s.
A jury at Birmingham Crown Court deliberated for six hours before unanimously convicting 73-year-old James Robinson, who was extradited from California last year to face trial.

Robinson had denied the offences, which were committed between 1959 and 1983.

Prosecutor John Attwood told the jury that the priest used his position of trust to gain "unfettered and unlimited" access to victims who "caught his eye".
In passing sentence, Judge Patrick Thomas QC, described the defendant as "devious and manipulative".
"The offences you committed were unimaginably wicked and caused immense and long-lasting - we can only hope not permanent - damage to the six victims."
"You used, you abused your position of trust, your position of authority and total trust within the communities that you moved to and from."
He was told by the judge that he would have to serve two thirds of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
Robinson worked as a priest in several parishes across England's Midlands during the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The first complaint against Robinson was made to West Midlands Police in 1985.
Robinson, who was also a blacksmith and professional boxer before entering the priesthood.

Monk filmed naked girls, jailed

Net Khai, 37, was arrested and stripped of his religious status in June for allegedly taping more than 600 women pouring sacred water over themselves and then sharing the footage via mobile phones.
Since then several women have come forward to press charges, including two who were under the age of 18 at the time of filming.
A Phnom Penh court on Thursday handed the ex-monk the jail term for producing and distributing pornography of two underage girls, prosecutor Plang Sophal told AFP.
The court also ordered Net Khai to pay 50 million riel (S$15,318) in compensation to each of the two victims.
Net Khai already received a one-year sentence last month for producing and distributing pornography in a case involving a 23-year-old victim. He is expected to face at least one further lawsuit.
Buddhist monks are revered in Cambodia, where Buddhists make up more than 90 per cent of the population.

Ex-AETOS officer charged with asking for sex from girl
SINGAPORE: A former officer from AETOS Security Consultants has been charged with asking a teenage girl for sex after he caught her smoking and littering.
26-year-old Eddie Quek Yu Meng was attached to the National Environment Agency (NEA) as an enforcement officer when he caught the student and two other teenagers throwing cigarette butts at Woodlands Civic Centre on October 31, 2008.
He took down their particulars but is believed to have released them on the spot instead of reporting the trio to the relevant authorities.
Quek allegedly posed as an NEA officer and contacted the girl in February 2009 even though he had already left AETOS the year before.
The pair is believed to have met up at a stairway of Block 365, Woodlands Avenue 1 on February 10, 2009.
Quek allegedly told the girl that he would inform her parents about her offences if she did not give in to his demands.
The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau declined to reveal the girl's age or if she had given in to his demands.
Quek is also accused of accepting $50 from an unknown Chinese man whom he had caught littering.
It is believed this was in exchange for not taking enforcement action against the litterbug.
Quek allegedly committed this offence in September 2008 when he was still an AETOS officer.
If convicted of corruption, he could be jailed up to five years and fined a maximum of $100,000.
Quek also faces five forgery charges.
In one of the cases, he allegedly made use of another person's education certificate and passed it off as his own to apply for a job in November 2007.
Quek is believed to have used the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education belonging to a woman identified as Koh Hui Hoon.
Quek will be back in court on November 8.
If convicted of forgery, he could be jailed up to four years and fined for each charge.

Finally we can breathe.' The daughter, now 24, testified the man began sexually assaulting her when she was 8, and then regularly raping her until she bore him a child at 15.
Forensics experts testified earlier in the trial that DNA profiles showed the defendant was likely the father of his own grandchild.

MRT molester caught
EAGLE-EYED police officers caught a 42-year-old man who is believed to have outraged the modesty of a woman commuter on board a crowded MRT train.
Officers from Central Police Division were conducting anti-crime rounds at Bugis MRT station on Monday at about 5.20pm, when they spotted a man molesting an unsuspecting commuter on board a packed train cabin. They immediately moved in and arrested the suspect.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect could be involved in other molest cases in MRT trains. Investigations are on-going.
If convicted, the offender can be jailed up to two years, fined or caned.
Police remind the public to be vigilant against opportunists who might commit molest in crowded areas and seek to evade detection by blending into the crowd.
'To minimise the risk of falling prey to such opportunists, one should be alert when approached by strangers in crowded areas. Remain calm should you be confronted, and contact the Police as soon as it is safe to do so,' advice the police, adding: 'Take note of the description of the offender, such as his appearance.'

Dual life of sex predator
BELLEVILLE (ONTARIO) - BY DAY, he was a top Canadian military commander who had flown planes for political figures and British royalty, including Queen Elizabeth II.
By night, however, David Russell Williams, 47, used the same logistical and organisational skills he acquired in the Canadian Air Force to break into homes, first stealing hundreds of pairs of underwear - many belonging to young girls - before progressing to raping some victims and then, finally, killing two of them.
The culmination of the case against Williams, which shocked Canadians when the colonel was first charged in April, came on Monday when he pleaded guilty to 88 charges, including rape, murder and a number of perverted home break-ins.
Gasps were intermixed with tears as a courtroom heard details of the scale and perversity of the crimes to which the military commander admitted on Monday.
Williams wrote detailed accounts of his crimes and meticulously photographed the evidence, compiling the data in what prosecutors called 'a deeply nested and complex series of sub-folders' on two computer hard drives.
He broke into houses primarily in the two neighbourhoods where he had homes. In many cases, he broke into the same house several times - in one instance, he did so nine times.

S'pore PR fined for molesting doctor
SINGAPORE -- A FORMER IT engineer was fined a total of $8,000 on Tuesday for molesting a doctor during a consultation.
Pham Thai Ha, 30, a Singapore permanent resident, was convicted last week by District Judge Kamala Ponnampalam of holding the 26-year-old doctor's shoulders and trying to kiss her when he was seeking treatment for a rash on a finger.
The incident took place at a clinic in Clementi on June 8 last year. He was also found guilty of using criminal force on the doctor by grasping her hand and pulling her to him. The doctor had testified that after prescribing an antibiotic cream for the rash on Pham's finger, he complained about a rash on his buttocks. On examining him, she found dark skin patches there.
She alleged that he was then aroused, and reached for her hand and tried to tug it towards him. She pulled away and went to her table, but he sat naked on the couch and asked: 'Are you sure you've finished checking?'
He then got dressed, went behind her, put his hands on her shoulders, leaned down and said he liked her very much. When he next tried to steal a kiss, she shouted for the nurse, she said.
Pham left the room but returned a while later to apologise; he also laid a finger on his lips to ask for her discretion. Pham, defended by Mr P.E. Ashokan, could have been jailed for up to two years, fined or caned or received any combination of the punishments for outrage of modesty.

Schoolgirl raped, murdered
TELUK INTAN - A 16-YEAR-OLD schoolgirl was found naked and dead in a drain near an oil palm estate in Ladang Rubana here.
Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Goh Kok Liang said M. Divya Barathi was found lying face down in the drain by a passer-by at 7.30am on Saturday.
He said the passer-by had earlier found Divya Barathi's school bag and clothing before locating the body about 10m away. It is believed that the girl was also raped before she was killed.
ACP Goh said police are still waiting for a post-mortem report from the Teluk Intan Hospital Forensics Unit to ascertain the cause of death. He added that police did not find any weapon at the crime scene.
The girl's father K. Murali, 43, said he last saw his daughter alighting a bus and walking into the estate on Friday evening, said ACP Goh, adding that the SM Horley Methodist student was returning home after attending tuition class in town. 'Murali lodged a report at the Teluk Intan police station after his daughter did not return home that night,' he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. ACP Goh also said no arrest have been made but they have called one of Divya Barathi's classmates to assist in the investigations.

Sodomy trial II: HKL pathologist says Mohd Saiful was sodomised
KUALA LUMPUR: A Hospital Kuala Lumpur forensic pathologist told the High Court here that Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan was sodomised.
However, Dr Siew Sheue Feng said there was no clinical findings to support the conclusion.
He said the lack of resistance and the use of lubricants could be the reason why there was no clinical finding of anal penetration on Mohd Saiful during examination on June 28, 2008, at the hospital.
However, he said swab samples taken around Mohd Saiful's anal area showed evidence of seminal fluid.
Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, 63, had claimed trial to sodomising his former aide Mohd Saiful, 25, at Desa Damansara Condominium in Jalan Setiakasih, Bukit Damansara, between 3.01pm and 4.30pm on June 26, 2008.
Dr Siew also told the court that Mohd Saiful had told him that he was sodomised without the use of condoms.
Later, another HKL doctor Dr Khairul Nizam Hassan read out his medical examination, saying that he found four scars on Mohd Saiful's back.
He also said swabs taken of Mohd Saiful had traces of semen.
The trial has been postponed to Oct 25.

33% of women forced into sex
UNITED NATIONS - MORE than a third of all women in the world have been forced into sex, beaten or abused by a partner or family member, a top UN official said on Tuesday.
Zou Xiaoqaio, vice-chairman of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women said that sexual violence was increasing around the world despite major campaigns by the UN and other bodies.
Ms Zou said that not enough of the 186 countries which have signed the 1979 Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) had implemented it to give effective help to women.
'At least one every three women has been beaten, coerced into sex or abused in some other way, usually by an intimate partner or family member,' Ms Zou told a press conference at the UN headquarters, quoting a new report by the UN Population Fund.
'Women continue to be raped and subject to other forms of sexual violence with impunity all over the world,' she said, highlighting how, in some countries, rape charges against an offender can be dropped if he marries the victim.
'Women and girls are still being sold for sex around the world. Two million girls between the ages of five and 15 are introduced into the commercial sex market each year.' The United States, Iran and Sudan are among six countries that have not yet signed the 1979 convention, Ms Zou said.

Bananas 'good for male fertility'
MEN can improve their fertility by eating a banana every three days, reported Sin Chew Daily.
Quoting a Singaporean urologist, the daily reported that the fruit can increase sperm count as it contains high level of magnesium to produce sperm cells.

Jail for cop for molesting PC
A POLICE officer who was convicted of molesting a 22-year-old auxiliary police constable was sentenced to 10 months' jail yesterday.
Ng Kok Peng, a senior staff sergeant with Jurong Police Division, was found guilty on Monday after a nine-day trial.
He faced charges of kissing the woman constable and squeezing her breast.
The incident occurred on Jan 18 last year on a staircase landing at Woodlands checkpoint, where Ng, 33, had been deployed for the last seven years. He was acting deputy team leader at the time of the offence.
Ng is out on $10,000 bail, pending his appeal against conviction and sentence.
District Judge Sarjit Singh told Ng that he should have known better than to flout the law since he was a police officer.

America reveals its sexual secrets
There are 130 pages of it, most densely packed with statistics and the remainder couched in the kind of language that only the most erudite and obsessive of researchers could find remotely arousing. But the most comprehensive national survey of Americans' sex lives for nearly two decades – arguably the most revealing since Dr Alfred Kinsey's two now-celebrated reports some 60-odd years ago – throws up some fairly intriguing findings. And, as always with this kind of behavioural thing, if it's happening in the US, it's more than likely happening here too.
More than we ever used to, for example, we fancy a bit of this and a bit of that (or at least, we're prepared to own up to it). Not that we indulge in all 41 possible combinations of sex acts enumerated by the National Survey of Sexual Health and Behaviour (NSSHB), published yesterday in a special issue of the Journal of Sexual Medicine, every time we have sex. But we do seem to be getting considerably more adventurous: of the five basic acts identified by the study (penile-vaginal intercourse or PVI, solo masturbation, mutual masturbation, oral sex and anal sex), more than 6% of men aged 25-29 claimed to have indulged in each and every one the last time they slept with someone.
Well that, you may object, doesn't prove much. There will always be a small proportion of sexual acrobats (or men who think they are). But how to account for the 16% of women aged 18-24 who reckoned they used four of the five techniques the last time they had sex, or the 8% of women aged 50-59 who said the same thing? "The findings demonstrate the enormous variability that occurs in the sexual repertoire," concludes Debby Herbenick of Indiana University's Centre for Sexual Health Promotion, a leading author of the study of 5,865 US residents aged between 14 and 94. So while "vaginal intercourse was still the most common sexual behaviour" among adult men and women, more of them than ever before reported experiencing what the researchers romantically refer to as "sexual events" that did not feature any actual intercourse at all.
Herbenick puts this down mainly to "evolving and varying definitions of what it means to have 'had sex'". In other words, behaviour that was once considered mere foreplay, a kind of precursor or accessory to the main event – the starter, if you like – is increasingly becoming the main course. (And it is worth pointing out that the statistics above refer only to the respondents' last sexual experience, not necessarily to what they get up to when they are really setting out to have a good time).
Half a century ago, the writer Somerset Maugham opined that there is "hardly anyone whose sexual life, if it were broadcast, would not fill the world at large with surprise and horror". He may, finally, be right. The study doesn't delve much into the reasons why our sexual behaviour is evolving in this way. (Indeed, it may have ended up with some even more evolved behaviours – and probably a far larger number of sex act combinations – had it chosen to ask its respondents about their use of sex toys and pornography, which it didn't.) But nonetheless, the NSSHB pretty much puts paid to any lingering notions that repressed Anglo-Saxons are less adventurous in bed than, say, the Italians or French. The missionary position may not quite have died a death, but it's certainly no longer the beginning and end of what we now consider as sex.
Oral sex, for example, has become positively banal. Some 88% of men aged 30-39 have performed oral sex on a woman, 69% of them in the last year. Likewise, nearly 20% of boys aged 16-17. More than half of all women surveyed said they had received oral sex from a male partner in the previous year, while 12% of women aged 14-15, 23% aged 16-17 and well over half of those aged 18-49 said they had given a male partner oral sex.
Masturbation, likewise, is universal. Between 28% and 69% of men in each age group reported having masturbated alone during the past month; and solo masturbation emerged as the most common sex act among 14-24 year-old men and the over-50s. Among women, more than half aged 18-49 said they had masturbated alone in the previous 90 days, pretty much regardless of whether or not they were in a relationship. Nearly a quarter of all women said they had engaged in mutual masturbation with a male partner in the previous month.
Same-sex activity appears to be on the rise, or at least less taboo
More surprisingly, perhaps, the reported rate of anal sex has also increased dramatically, effectively doubling since the National Health and Social Life Survey was carried out by researchers from the University of Chicago in 1988. That study suggested around 12% of American women in the 25-29 age group had experienced anal sex in the last year; that figure has now risen to 21% (and also applies to the 30-39 age group). Some 20% of American 18- to 19-year-old girls have had anal sex at least once in their lifetimes, the new study shows, rising to more than 45% among 25-29 year olds.
Same-sex activity also appears to be on the rise, or at least less taboo (rather than through face-to-face interviews, the new survey was carried out online, a method believed to encourage more open and honest responses). While only about 7% of men and women identified themselves as "other than heterosexual", far more said they had engaged in some form of sexual activity with a member of the same sex. Nearly 15% of women in their 30s, for example, reported having performed oral sex on another woman at least once in their lifetime, while 13% of men over 40 said they had done the same to another man and 50% of men aged 50-59 said they had received it.
While we may be doing more stuff, though, we are not necessarily talking about it. According to Jocelyn Elders, the former US surgeon general, American society continues to view sex "primarily in negative terms"; she has used the report's evidence to argue for a more "open, frank conversation" in American society. "We have a sexually dysfunctional society because of our limited views of sexuality and our lack of knowledge and understanding concerning the complexities and joys of humanity," Elders writes in an introductory paper to the report. "We must revolutionise our conversation . . . to a discussion of pleasure."
Perhaps the most notable consequence of this expanded smorgasbord of sex does, though, appear to be that the whole business has become more pleasurable for women. While men were, on balance, more likely to reach orgasm during vaginal sex, women reported they were far more likely to if their partners adopted more than just one of the five basic techniques – and nearly 90% said they did so when they or their partner used all five. (More disturbingly, a startling number of women – almost a third – reported experiencing some form of genital pain during their most recent sexual encounter, against just 5% of men.)
Not that this more varied sexual diet and greater degree of female sexual satisfaction has done much to reduce the problem of what researchers call "the orgasm gap": in other words, the number of women who actually experience orgasm during sex, as opposed to the number of men who think they do. The NSSHB reports that 64% of women indicated they had reached orgasm in the course of their most recent "sexual event", whereas a fairly staggering 85% of men reported that their partner had done so during their most recent encounter. Some, of course, may have been having sex with other men, but that can hardly account for a 21% difference in perception.
Few young American teenagers seem to be having sex with anybody apart from themselves
There was more reassuring news, though, for those who fear that amid growing concern about teenage sexual development – much of it linked to mobile phone "sexting", social networking websites such as Facebook, and computer-based instant messaging services – very few young American teenagers seem to be having physical sex with anybody apart from themselves. Of the 14- to 16-year-old boys and girls surveyed, only around 10% said they were engaging in any kind of sexual activity with a partner – whereas 62% of boys, and 40% of girls, in the same age group were happy to admit to masturbating on their own during the last year.
The highest rate of condom use (the study was funded by the manufacturer of Trojan condoms) was also found to be among 14- to 17-year-olds. Nearly 80% of the boys and 69% of the girls surveyed said they used a condom the last time they had sex, against 25% for all the men in the study, leading the researchers to conclude that condom use had now become "the norm" among teens. Rates of condom use among black and Hispanic males were also considerably higher than among white men, perhaps showing that HIV-Aids awareness campaigns in these communities, where the disease is proportionately more prevalent, were making progress. "Our findings also show that condoms are used twice as often with casual sexual partners as with relationship partners, a trend that is consistent for both men and women across age groups that span 50 years," Herbenick said.
Cheering findings, too, for the over-60s: both men and women continue to be both active and adventurous in bed between the ages of 60 and 69, with 38% of men and 25% of women indicating they had been given oral sex by a partner of the opposite sex at some stage during the previous 12 months. Past 70, 19% or men and 8% of women reported they were still enjoying regular oral sex as part of their overall sexual activity. Somerset Maugham, one imagines, would be thrilled.
