Girls sleep with thugs

MALAYSIA - It has become a worrying trend because girls, some as young as 11, sleep with street thugs due to the lack of parental supervision, reported Metro Ahad.

Most of these girls, known as cikaro, are teenagers who are willing to give up their virginity to street thugs whom they have known for just a few hours.

The girls compete for the ratu cikaro title, which refers to the most popular girl among them, because they believe it is something to be proud of.

To claim this title, they must fulfil three criteria sexy, bubbly and brave.

Unlike the girls known as bohsia who sometimes become "prizes" for winners of a bet, the cikaro prefer to move alone and go to places where street thugs hold illegal races.

They are said to be more difficult to approach as they do not stay in one area for long.

Afghan child bride's torturers get 10 years of jail: Official

KABUL (AFP) - The case of a tortured Afghan child bride whose treatment shocked the world has led to three members of her husband's family being jailed for 10 years, an official said on Saturday.

Sahar Gul, 15, who was burned and beaten and had her fingernails pulled out, was found in the basement of her husband's house in December 2011 in north-eastern Baghlan province, where she had been locked in a toilet for six months.

'The court sentenced her father-in-law, mother-in-law and sister-in-law each to 10 years in prison on Tuesday,' Afghanistan's supreme court spokesman Abdul Wakil Omari told AFP.

A rights group, Women for Afghan Women which helped Gul in the court case, said it was not satisfied with the sentence.

'We are not happy with the sentence, we are going to help her appeal,' programme manager Huma Safi told AFP.

'How can someone get only 10 years in prison for torturing a girl to almost death,' she said.

Gul, whose case attracted widespread attention in Afghanistan and abroad, attended the court session in Kabul.

'When she first entered the court and saw her in-laws, she was afraid and shaking, but later she calmed down and asked for death penalty for her in-laws,' Ms Safi said.

Gul's husband and her brother in-law, also allegedly involved in torturing her, are still at large.

Violence and abuse against women continues to be a major problem in Afghanistan a decade after United States (US)-led troops brought down the notorious Taliban regime.

According to figures by British charity organisation Oxfam, 87 per cent of Afghan women report having experienced physical, sexual or psychological violence or forced marriage.

The Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission logged 1,026 cases of violence against women in the second quarter of 2011 compared with 2,700 cases for the whole of 2010.

Colorado boy, 6, suspended for sexual harassment

AURORA, Colorado (AP) - A six-year-old boy was suspended from his suburban Denver school for three days after school officials say he told a girl 'I'm sexy and I know it,' a line from a popular song.

The first-grader at Sable Elementary School in Aurora is accused of sexual harassment and disrupting other students, according to a letter the school district sent to the boy's mother after he was sent home on Wednesday.

School officials issued a statement saying they couldn't discuss the case, but they pointed out a school board policy that defines sexual harassment as any unwelcome sexual advance. There is no age limit.

The Aurora Police Department said it was not involved in the case because laws only cover children ages 10 and older.

The boy's mother, Stephanie Meadows, said her son doesn't know the meaning of sexual harassment. It's the second time her son has gotten in trouble for quoting the song, she said.

'I'm just, I'm floored,' Ms Meadows told KMGH-TV.

'They're going to look at him like he's a pervert. And it's like, that's not fair to him.' The Associated Press could not locate Ms Meadows for comment.

Aurora Public Schools issued a statement on Thursday saying it is trying to provide an equal learning environment for all students.

'We have policies and protocol in place to prevent any disruption to the learning environment. Due to privacy laws, we are unable to discuss appropriate disciplinary consequences about a specific student,' wrote spokesman Paula Hans.

Denver attorney Craig Silverman said elementary school students have the same rights to free speech as
adults as long as they understand and follow the rules. He said school policies should allow for exceptions.

'Sometimes when you go to a zero-tolerance policy, you end up with a zero-sense policy,' he said.

The six-year-old's suspension comes while the Colorado Legislature considers a measure that would create a task force to potentially give school administrators more discretion on how to discipline students and avoid automatic calls to police.

The bill, aimed at reforming strict zero-tolerance policies adopted after the Columbine High School shootings, has passed the state Senate and is awaiting action by the full House.

Lawmakers who worked on the measure say zero-tolerance policies have disrupted too many students' education for minor offences. Lawmakers want school districts to consider prevention, intervention, peer mediation, counselling and other approaches to limit the number of expulsions and suspensions.

As examples, lawmakers have cited Colorado students who were referred to police for trying to break up a fight or having a replica gun on school grounds.

They also point to cases such as at least two in Florida in which girls, 10 and 11 years old at the time, were arrested for allegedly bringing a plastic butter knife and a small kitchen knife to school.

Under Colorado's Senate Bill 46, the only cause for mandatory expulsion would be bringing a real firearm to school.

Sex workers rescued from 'fortress' brothel

PETALING JAYA - Patrons only needed to press the lift's emergency bell three times to gain entry into a spa-cum-brothel at a hotel in the Sri Damansara Industrial area here.

The brothel, which occupied the first two floors of the building, had an elaborate security system.
It also had a cramped air-conditioned room to hide its sex workers whenever the authorities raided the premises.

On Saturday, a police team from the Anti-Trafficking in Person Unit busted the brothel's operations and detained 10 people, including five foreign women.

The other five detained were local people, including a woman who was the caretaker of the foreign women.
Team leader Deputy Superintendent Nor Omar Sappi said the brothel's spa was located on the first floor while the second floor had 20 rooms.

However, it took an hour to search for the foreign women as they were well-hidden in the one-metre wide room.

They were discovered through an opening beneath a towel rack.

Aged between 20 and 39, three were Vietnamese, while the other two were from Thailand and China respectively.

Nor Omar said they were held captive in the hotel after arriving in Malaysia two months ago.

"The women, who came on social visit passes, were forced into prostitution, with clients paying RM170 (S$70) for an hour of service."

He said the sex workers were taken to the district headquarters and police would apply for a temporary protection order.

It is learnt that the police were tipped off by their Vietnamese counterpart about the syndicate, which promised these women jobs as waitresses here.

Nymphomaniac forces man into 36-hour sex session

A 47-year-old German nymphomaniac was arrested after she kept a one-night-stand hostage and forced him to make love to her for a staggering 36 hours.

The man, an African, was found sobbing in the street outside the woman's apartment by policemen, the Daily Mail UK reported.

The man told the police that the ordeal began when he met her on the bus. He thought it was his lucky day when she invited him back to her apartment in Munich, Germany. For the next 36 hours, he was stuck in her apartment facing her incessant demands for sex.

He later escaped when she was asleep. "It was hell. I can't walk. Please help me," he said, fighting back tears. According to local reports, Munich police have confirmed his claim in a press statement.

The woman has reportedly been taken to a hospital for psychiatric observation. The man is believed to be the latest victim of the German nymphomaniac, and this is not her first brush with the law for her insatiable sexual appetite.

In mid last month, German news publication The Province reported that the same woman was arrested after forcing her date to make love to her eight times.

According to the report that claimed the incident happened in March, the man was so desperate to get away that he fled on to the balcony and called the police for protection. Dieter Schulz, 43, who is believed to be her first victim, met the nymphomaniac in a bar in the centre of his home city.

They then went back to her apartment where they proceeded to have sex several times. "When the 47-year-old wanted even more, her partner said no," said the police in a statement. According to The Province, Schulz attempted to leave the apartment.

However, the woman refused to let him do so and stopped him from escaping. She kept demanded that he sleep with her again and again. "He complied with the woman's wishes another few times so he could finally leave the apartment," the police spokesman told reporters.

"But when she continued to refuse and demanded even more sex from him, he fled to the balcony." He called the police and pleaded for help, alleging that "she is trying to kill (him) with sex." "I cannot get out, and I cannot go on!" he reportedly said.

When the police arrived on scene to free Schulz, she invited two of the officers to join her in bed for a '"quickie," the Daily Mail said. However, they declined her offer. She faces possible charges of sexual assault and illegal restraint. Source: Asiaone

4 boys sodomised by mute worker

SEREMBAN - A mute general worker is believed to have sodomised four Year Two boys in the toilet of a primary school in Simpang Durian, Jelebu, since last year.

The 24-year-old suspect's actions finally came to light when the latest victim complained of pain in his anus and told his mother that he was unable to pass motion, last Friday.

The victim's mother contacted the school before the three other victims also came forward after they were questioned by a teacher.

The mother said she was shocked when the teacher contacted her and later took all the victims to the police station to lodge a report last Friday. "My son later told me that the suspect had called him to the toilet in March and locked the door before performing the act."

She said the other victims' mothers also said the suspect used the same tactic by calling the victims to the toilet before sodomising them.

Another victim's mother said she was upset that the school had not done anything though the elder brother to her son who was sodomised had complained to the school authorities about the suspect's peculiar behaviour last year.

Jelebu police chief Deputy Superintendent Setapa Yusof confirmed the suspect has been detained.

Man arrested for alleged rape of 11-year-old sister

A 27-year-old man is in the Simpang Tiga police lock-up to help in an investigation into an alleged rape case.

His remand on Tuesday came following a report lodged by his 11-year-old sister who told police that her brother had raped her on four occasions — three times last year and on April 7.

The girl, accompanied by her mother when she made the report, said in the April 7 incident, her brother brought her to a goat breeding ground in Jalan Matang at around 1pm.

She said her brother threatened her to keep silent but because she could no longer stand the ordeal, she summoned enough courage to tell her mother.

Police swiftly acted on the report, going to the suspect’s work place and had him arrested around noon. The suspect insisted that he had been falsely accused, but a medical check conducted on the girl confirmed there had been penetration.
