China police detain British man over sexual assault

BEIJING (AFP) - A British man has been detained for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman on the side of a road in Beijing, police said on Thursday, as a purported video of the incident went viral on the web.

The video, which showed a foreign man standing next to a visibly distressed Chinese woman lying on a roadside flowerbed with her pants down, drew more than 4.5 million views.

'A drunk man sexually assaulted a woman in a public place on the evening of May 8, and when passers-by realised, they stopped him and called the police,' said a message posted on the Beijing public security bureau's official microblog page.

It added that the man, who has been detained, is British and is in China on a tourist visa. It also linked the incident to the video circulating online.

The video - which has gone viral - also shows male passers-by beating and kicking the alleged attacker, who is left lying on the road when police show up.

Mr John Gallagher, spokesman for the British embassy in Beijing, told AFP the embassy had not yet received any official notifications about the incident from the Chinese police.

The video purportedly showing the assault was uploaded to video-sharing website Youku.com, but it is unclear who filmed the incident.

China is generally considered a safe country for women given that sexual assaults and cases of violence are still relatively rare.

2nd masseur accuses John Travolta of sexual battery

LOS ANGELES (REUTERS) - A second unidentified masseur has joined a US$2 million (S$2.4 million) lawsuit against John Travolta claiming the actor sexually assaulted the men in two separate incidents during private massages, according to amended court documents filed on Tuesday.

The second unnamed man, a resident of Georgia referred to as John Doe No. 2 in court papers obtained by Reuters, claimed that Travolta rubbed his legs, touched his genitals and tried to initiate sex at a private appointment at the actor's room inside an Atlanta hotel on Jan 28.

The allegations echo those of John Doe No. 1, a resident of Texas, who filed the initial complaint late last week and accused Travolta of sexually assaulting him during a private massage at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Jan 16.

'This second 'anonymous' claim is just as absurd and ridiculous as the first one,' said attorney Martin Singer, who represents the Hollywood actor.

'Our client will be fully vindicated in court on both of these absurd and fictional claims.'

Travolta's spokesman has called the lawsuit 'complete fiction and fabrication.'

The plaintiff's attorney, Pasadena, California-based Okorie Okorocha, told Reuters that since the initial complaint was filed last week, he has had many more potential victims come forward with similar complaints.

'I will file for every single victim. Mr Travolta has been able to evade justice, and he's going to challenge it with me but I'm not afraid... I'll stand up to him,' said Mr Okorocha.

He said that the men did not go to the police because they did not think the police would believe them.

Travolta, 58, rose to fame in the 1970s on the television sitcom Welcome Back Kotter, then became a movie star with hits such as Saturday Night Fever, Grease, and later, Pulp Fiction.

He has been nominated for two Academy Awards and has been married to wife Kelly Preston since 1991.

Child Sex Ring: Nine Guilty Of Grooming Girls

Nine men have been found guilty of being part of a child exploitation ring that groomed underage girls for sex by plying them with alcohol and drugs.


Eleven men were charged with a range of offences from having sex with underage girls, sexual assault, trafficking and rape. They all denied the charges.


The nine men found guilty were Kabeer Hassan, Abdul Aziz, Abdul Rauf, Mohammed Sajid, Adil Khan, Abdul Qayyum, Mohammed Amin, Hamid Safi and a 59-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons.


The trial at Liverpool Crown Court took 11 weeks and heard from alleged victims and the defendants themselves.


The prosecution's case was that the men worked together as a group to secure for themselves and others underage girls for sex.


It was claimed that the men drove the young girls around parts of Greater Manchester and delivered them to flats and houses where men were waiting to have sex with them.


Some of the victims told the jury that they were threatened with violence if they did not submit to 
their demands.


They said they were lured in with free cigarettes, alcohol and food.


But some of the defendants told the court that the girls were willing participants, and were happy to have sex with the men in return for money.

Travolta denies 'baseless' masseur lawsuit

LOS ANGELES: John Travolta dismissed as a "baseless lie" Monday a lawsuit seeking US$2 million for alleged assault and sexual battery of a masseur, during a massage session at a Beverly Hills hotel.


The lawsuit filed in Los Angeles claims Travolta tried to have sex with the male masseur, whom he had allegedly hired for a US$200-an-hour massage in January. Travolta's statement said the actor was not even in Los Angeles.


The "Saturday Night Fever" and "Pulp Fiction" star met the masseur, who was only anonymously identified as "John Doe," in his black Lexus SUV on January 16, according to the legal document published by celebrity news website TMZ.


The actor took the masseur to a bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and was given a normal one-hour massage -- but then Travolta offered to give a "reverse massage."


The masseur told Travolta he did not have sex with clients. The 58-year-old actor called him a "loser," but paid him double the hourly rate and left, the document claimed.


"This lawsuit is a complete fiction and fabrication. None of the events claimed in the suit ever occurred," Travolta's publicist said in a statement cited by celebrity bible People magazine and others.


"The plaintiff, who refuses to give their name, knows that the suit is a baseless lie. It is for that reason that the plaintiff hasn't been identified with a name even though it is required to do so."


The publicist said Travolta was not in California, but on the other side of the country on the US East Coast, when the masseur claims the encounter took place.


"Plaintiff's attorney has filed this suit to try and get his 15 minutes of fame," the statement added.


"John intends to get this case thrown out and then he will sue the attorney and plaintiff for malicious prosecution."

Peeping Tom gets 5 years' corrective training, caning

SINGAPORE - A peeping Tom was sentenced to five years' corrective training and one stroke of the cane on Tuesday for trying to molest a woman in a female toilet at a shopping centre.

Razali Abdullah, 26, had admitted to criminal trespass and pushing a 33-year-old Filipino woman into the toilet cubicle, covering her mouth, grabbing her wrist and punching her on the face.

The court heard that Razali was at The Verge at Serangoon Road on Feb 2 when he had a sexual urge.

He decided to prey on a victim in the female toilet by hiding in one of the cubicles of the fourth-level female toilet.

A short while later, he peeped at the victim who had gone into the next cubicle.

When he realised that there was no one else in the toilet, he came out and waited for the victim with the intention to molest her.

The woman screamed when she saw him standing outside. He covered her mouth and pushed her into the cubicle.

When she struggled and continued to scream, he grabbed her wrist and punched her in the face.

She continued to shout for help.

Razali then let go of her wrist and fled but was detained by the victim's friends who were at the food court near the toilet.

Razali, who has had similar convictions in 2003 and 2007, could have been sentenced up to 14 years' corrective training.

9yo raped by 14yo 3 times in pri school stairwell

A 14-year-old boy used the premises of a primary school in Alor Gajah to rape a nine-year-old girl on three separate occasions during the past week, reported Harian Metro.

The boy would stalk his victim, waiting to drag the girl to the school's stairwell during break or after school. It was reported that the boy threatened the girl with a sharp weapon each time, even pressing this against her throat to warn her against telling anyone about her ordeal.

However, the victim, a Primary Three pupil, could no longer take the abuse and informed her school authorities after she was raped for the third time. A source said the school authorities immediately carried out an investigation and informed the girl's mother.

Alor Gajah district police chief Supt Umar Ali Saifuddin Shaharuddin confirmed that a police report had been lodged, adding that a suspect had been identified and would be arrested soon.

Teacher Steals Boy’s Virginity: “My First Time…”

A teacher has been arrested for having sex with one of her pupils in a closet during class, with her unfortunate victim complaining that his innocence was shamefully taken from him:

“When I grow up and think about my first time, I have to think about Ms. Wilson.” The 28-year-old Florida high school teacher began a series of sexual encounters with a 16-year-old boy, who police say she “took advantage of.”

In one encounter she called his teacher during class and said he had left something in her classroom, and when he was excused from class and came to her.

There she gently pushed him against the wall and began touching him, next proceeding to lead him into a closet, undress him and then have sex with him, according to the highly detailed police reports.

The boy initially denied having had sex with her when authorities began to investigate, and the case was soon abandoned after she resigned and moved away.

However, the boy apparently became unhappy that she later sent him lewd pictures of herself and kept in contact, and later came forward.

He now ashamedly complains that she stole his virginity: “It’s bad, that when I grow up and think about my first time, I have to think about Ms. Wilson.”

She faces charges of unlawful sex with a minor, the local equivalent of statutory rape. Police have also managed to pin a rather tenuous charge of “unlawful transmission of pornography by electronic device” on her for sending him topless pictures of herself.

The case came to light after an anonymous report from a parent voiced suspicions of her having had sex with a number of students – although only the unhappy virgin has so far admitted any intimate contact with her.

Having already resigned her position and left the state, she was eventually arrested in Colorado and extradited back to Florida, with bail set at $85,000.
