SINGAPORE - He asked her to be his girlfriend, had sex with her and promised to marry her.
But she was only 13 years old then.
And he was her relief teacher, 14 years older than her.
Last Monday, Ross Ryan Kristiaensen, now 30, pleaded guilty to two counts of having sex with his underage student.
Two other similar charges will be taken into consideration during sentencing on April 3.
A district court heard that the two became close after a salad-making competition at the end of July 2009.
Kristiaensen, who taught home economics, was the teacher in charge of preparing students for the competition organised by a local community centre.
A day before the competition, he asked her out for lunch and they later went shopping for items for the competition.
After that, they started exchanging text messages and calling each other daily.
She treated him as an older brother with whom she shared her problems.
He also treated her as a younger sister and asked her out for meals.
About four months later, they met for breakfast, after which he invited her back to his flat at Commonwealth Avenue.

While in his bedroom, they kissed and hugged. He then asked her to be his girlfriend, and she agreed.
He told her to keep it a secret.
About a week later, he invited her to his home again and they had sex for the first time. After taking her virginity, he promised to marry her.
They had sex again on New Year's Eve at a condominium on Bayshore Road and at his home again in June 2010.

On Sept 1, 2010, she saw an online chat between him and another girl.
When she asked him about it, he claimed that she did not have time for him, pushing him to talk to another girl.
They argued and broke up that month, but she still had feelings for him so they kept in touch.
About five weeks later, she asked him over to her home when her parents were overseas. He spent the night in her bedroom and they had sex.
Two days later, he was hospitalised and she visited him, missing dinner with her family.
Her brother found out where she was and went looking for her with their mother and his wife.
There, they saw her sitting very close to Kristiaensen and she was crying.
Kristiaensen identified himself as her teacher. When asked what was going on between ?them, he said she had no friends and he was helping her with her studies.
When she was confronted by her family members at home later, the girl confessed to having a sexual relationship with Kristiaensen and made a police report the following day.

She maintained contact with Kristiaensen because she loved him and missed him. Kristiaensen, on the other hand, asked her to stop contacting him.

Following the police report, the school terminated his service and the Ministry of Education de-registered him as a relief teacher.
Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Kavita Uthrapathy said the accused had preyed on the victim's youth and vulnerability, and had taken away her innocence merely to satiate his lust.
Kristiaensen exploited her as his "sexual plaything" and after the offences came to light, he "callously discarded her".
He didn't come clean with what he did and lied when confronted by the victim's sister-in-law about their relationship.
In view of all these, DPP Kavita pressed for a sentence that would serve as a lesson for the accused's transgressions and to deter others from such conduct.
Anyone convicted of sexual penetration of a minor can be jailed up to 10 years, fined or both.

Former relief teacher admits to having sex with secondary school student

A relief teacher in a secondary school had sex with his student four times over a period of about a year, a district court heard on Monday.

Ross Ryan Kristiaensen, 30, now unemployed, admitted to two counts of having sex with the minor at his home in 2009 and at her flat in October 2010.

The court heard that he was teaching home economics at the school in 2009 when he became acquainted with the Secondary 1 student.

Sometime in end-June, they went out for lunch and to buy items for a competition organised by a community centre.

After the competition, they became close, sending text messages and calling each other daily.

On Nov 25 that year, the bachelor brought her to his flat. They hugged and kissed. She agreed to be his girlfriend. He told her not to tell anyone that they were in a relationship.

On Dec 3 that year, he had unprotected sex with her in his bedroom. He promised that he would marry her.

On Sept 1, 2010 - Teacher's Day - while was using his laptop at his flat when she came across an online chat that he had with another girl. They had an argument and broke up, but she still had feelings for him and they kept in touch.

On Oct 10, she asked him over to her place when her parents were on an overseas trip. He spent the night there and had sex. She was then 14.

Two days later, he was hospitalised and the victim visited him. Her family missed her for dinner. When they found out where she was, they went there and saw them sitting very close together.

The victim subsequently revealed that she had a sexual relationship with Kristiaensen and lodged a police report on Oct 14. His services were terminated.

He will be sentenced on April 3.

Tourist robbed and raped after terror ride

PETALING JAYA: A 25-year-old American tou­rist was robbed and raped by two men after being taken on a 80km terror ride in a taxi.

The woman had gone shopping at a mall on Monday and hailed the taxi when she had finished.

The taxi driver, with a man in the front passenger seat, picked up the woman.

Sources revealed that instead of heading to her intended destination, the victim was robbed before being taken on a 80km ride from Mutiara Damansara to a house in Sungai Pelek, Sepang.

The two abductors then took turns raping the tourist.

It is learnt that the woman freed herself on Tuesday and sought the assistance of passers-by before lodging a police report.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed confirmed that police have received a report.

“We have arrested one man so far and in­vestigations are ongoing. We hope to detain the second suspect soon,” he said.

Soldier jailed for sex with two minors

- Told one minor he was a "Satanist"

A 21-year-old army regular was jailed for 20 months on Tuesday for having sex with two minors. Neither the accused nor the two girls, then aged 15 and 11, can be named as there is a gag order.

A district court heard that he was initially given a 12-month conditional warning for having sex with his girlfriend, aged 15, at his home in November 2008. He was then 17. The girl, now 19, became pregnant and underwent an abortion.

He breached the condition of the warning to remain crime-free for the next 12 months by committing similar offences.

This time, he preyed on his 11-year-old cousin. Claiming that he was a "Satanist'', he told her in October 2009 that since she was the first person to touch him, she must have sex with him or else "Satan'' would "come after her''.

The girl became disturbed and later on, began to believe him as she started seeing "figures'' in her bedroom. She was often scolded by her mother and she attributed the incidents of "bad luck'' to the fact that she did not have sex with the accused.

The two were in the living room one day when he asked her if she could recall what he had said to her and she acknowledged. She performed oral sex on him and they had sex afterwards. He had sex with her without her consent in March and April 2010.

When seen by the Child Guidance Clinic, the younger victim reported being made use of, had passive suicidal wishes and poor sleep due to the abuse. Nine other similar charges against the younger victim were considered during his sentencing.

Ballsy Rapist sentenced 27 years in jail

KUALA LUMPUR: A jobless man who raped a Vietnamese girl at a massage parlour, forced its caretaker to watch the act and then rob the centre was jailed 27 years and ordered to be whipped nine times.

Mohamad Fadzlie M. Rosdi, 20, whose rape victim told the police that he had ball bearings in his private parts, cried when he was approached by his father, kissed his mother’s hand and hugged his brother after the verdict was handed down.

Former contractor Mohd Khairell Idzham Hashim, 21, who slashed the caretaker’s left ear (the victim required 120 stitches for his injuries) and a cosmetics salesman’s hand, received 30 years’ jail and 10 strokes of the rotan.

The statement of facts revealed that Mohamad Fadzlie raped the 18-year-old girl on a sofa and forced the caretaker and another Vietnamese woman to watch it at Seasons House Theraphy Centre in Setapak at 1am on Nov 25.

Upon hearing the court judgment yesterday, the family members and friends of both accused wept openly.

When Mohamad Fadzlie’s father told him that “we will see you in jail tomorrow”, the younger man broke down.

Judge Emelia Kaswati Mohamad Khalid said the Sessions Court considered that both accused, who had been detained at two rehabilitation centres for two years under the Emergency Ordinance, were only released in March.

“You still are not remorseful. It is more cruel when you committed the rape in front of others,” she said, adding that the court had also taken into account a parang was used to cause injury to two victims.

“I hope the sentence will give a lesson for you. Go into religion while you are in jail. You learn to pray,” she told both accused.

Emelia sentenced Mohamad Fadzlie to 15 years in jail and five strokes of the rotan for rape and 12 years and two strokes of the rotan for each of the two causing hurt in committing robbery charges. The jail term for causing hurt will run concurrently.

Emelia gave Mohd Khairell 15 years and five strokes of the rotan for each of the two charges of causing hurt in committing robbery.

The judge made the order after hearing the victim impact statements from caretaker Jong Chiak Eng and salesman Teoh Chee Fah.

Yesterday, Jong said his ear was slashed by the accused, adding that not long after the attack, his ear fell off and he had to see a specialist to re-attach it.

Teoh said he could still feel pain in his left hand after the incident.

Relief teacher charged with having sex with 13-year-old student

A relief teacher at a secondary school was charged on Monday with having sex with a 13-year-old student and committing an indecent act with a child.

The 26-year-old allegedly touched the girl inappropriately and allowed her to touch him at a staircase landing of Block 431 Tampines Street 41 sometime in March last year.

He is said, on a second occasion, to have sexually abused her at the same staircase landing.

He allegedly made her perform oral sex on him at a staircase landing of Loyang Point in Pasir Ris Street 21, and had sex with her twice - at his flat in March last year and at a staircase landing of Loyang Point between late May and early June the same year.

Boyfriend of Amy Winehouse 'raped woman as she slept'

The boyfriend of late Grammy-winning British singer Amy Winehouse allegedly raped a female friend while she was asleep, a British court heard Monday.

Reg Traviss, 35, a film director who was dating Winehouse when she died of alcohol poisoning at her London home in July last year, faces two counts of rape at Southwark Crown Court in London.

The prosecution claims Traviss attacked the woman, a friend, after she was so drunk she could not stand.

The complainant, who spoke from behind a screen, told the jury of six men and six women that Traviss had been "shattered and quite distressed" by Winehouse's death when she saw him six weeks before the alleged rapes.

She said she saw Traviss three or four times a year, but there was no indication of romance.

The court heard that Traviss and the complainant had been drinking at three bars in London on December 30 last year before going to his home.

The woman alleges she fell asleep twice and woke up to Traviss raping her.

The court heard that the woman could not find her underwear when she was about to leave Traviss' home.

Prosecutor Kate Lumsdon said Traviss told the alleged victim: "I actually want to keep them."

The court heard that in the new year the complainant travelled to New York to stay with a friend and waited about three weeks before reporting Traviss to police once she returned to London.

But Ian Winter, a defence lawyer for Traviss, said the two were equally drunk and had consensual sex. The claims were "frankly absurd", he said.

After the alleged rapes the pair texted each other about possibly meeting up the following night to go to a band's after-show party.

The trial continues.

But he took advantage of the girl's trust and raped her in 2006 when she was only 10. And she suffered in silence until 2010, when she told her biological father what had happened.

Yesterday, Ahmad, 40, was sentenced to 26 years’ in jail and 24 strokes of the cane.

Woman in her 20s was gang-raped by two men who had a personal vendetta against her husband

A WOMAN in her 20s was gang-raped by two men who had a personal vendetta against her husband.

Harian Metro reported that the rapists left behind a note for the husband which read: “Your life is in danger. I will make sure you will die.”

A source told the daily that the woman was alone at home and in the shower in Bandar Teknologi Kajang when the men barged into the house in the 3.30pm incident last Friday.

“The victim was shocked to see two strangers. Before she could scream for help, the men drew out weapons and threatened to injure her.

“Fearing for her safety, the victim kept silent and the men tied her hands and feet and covered her mouth with cloth,” said the source.

The men then took turns to rape the woman, and fled after leaving a note on the back door.

The victim managed to untie herself before making a phone call to her husband.

The husband rushed home from work and found the back door damaged but nothing was missing from the house.

The couple went to the Kajang police station to lodge a report.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ab Rashid Ab Wahab confirmed the incident and said investigations were ongoing.

Extraordinary story of the husband who was 'raped to death' by five wives because he was paying too much attention to the sixth

A wealthy businessman - and husband of six - has died after allegedly being forced into a marathon sex session with his 'jealous' wives.

Nigerian Uroko Onoja was having sex with the youngest of his spouses when the remaining five are reported to have set upon him with knives and sticks - and demanded that he have sex with each of them too.

Mr Onoja went on to have intercourse with four of his wives in succession, but 'stopped breathing' as the fifth was making her way to the bed in Ogbadibo, according to Nigeria's Daily Post.

Two women have been arrested following the incident in the state of Benue last week, said the report, which used the term 'raped to death' to describe the businessman's fate.

Mr Onoja is understood to have returned from a bar in the small community of Ugbugbu, Ogbadibo, at around 3am on Tuesday, and headed for the bedroom of his youngest wife.

His five other wives - who were said to have held a meeting to discuss their intentions before their husband arrived home - are then alleged to have burst into the bedroom armed with knives and sticks to insist that they too be granted their conjugal rights.

The businessman, who has been described as a philanthropist who 'contributed positively' to the growth of his local community, is thought to have resisted the demands of his wives' before being overpowered.

Mr Onoja reportedly stopped breathing and could not be resuscitated after having sex with four of his wives in a row.

His youngest spouse is quoted as saying her five fellow wives ran into the forest when they realised their husband was dead.

The head of his village, Okpe Odoh, told the Daily Post the matter had been reported to police.

Psychiatrist suspended for 10-year sexual relationship with patient

A psychiatrist practising at The Psychiatric & Behavioural Medicine Clinic (Ang & Kong) at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre was taken to task by the Singapore Medical Council (SMC), for having an improper sexual relationship with his patient for over 10 years. Dr Kong Sim Guan, also known as Sim Heng Guan, was suspended for three years and fined $10,000 in a rare disciplinary case for the relationship that lasted from 1996 and 2009. Under SMC's medical code and ethical guidelines, a doctor must not have a sexual relationship with a patient, or be involved in an adulterous relationship. The council's disciplinary committee found that the patient was a psychiatric patient who was no doubt a vulnerable patient. She was clearly a troubled patient with marital issues, the committee said. 'We are cognizant of the fact that the medical issues faced by the Patient were related to her mental well-being and as her psychiatrist, (Kong) should have been more than aware that his sexual relationship with her can only be interpreted as taking advantage of her troubled state and vulnerability, let alone exacerbating and complicating her marital problems,' the committee noted. Man pleads guilty to raping and sodomising half-sister

A 38-year-old man yesterday pleaded guilty to raping and sodomising his half-sister with the help of his wife. The former car grooming coordinator at a petrol kiosk also pleaded guilty to one count of possession of obscene films. The accused, who has been charged with four counts of rape and six of sexual assault, assaulted his half-sister over two days between March 12 and 14 in 2010. The victim, a 21-year-old factory worker, shares the same mother with the accused and is mildly mentally retarded. She was sent to the accused's home, after her other half-brother and his wife, with whom she was living, were upset she wanted to quit her job as a counter staff. At about midnight, the accused told the girl he wanted "to punish her" and wanted her to "feel pain". He told her to remove her clothes, proceeded to remove his and told her to turn around. He then instructed his wife to hold on to the girl's legs and raped her. Throughout the night, the girl pleaded with the accused not to hurt her. He ignored her and at one point hit her head with an ashtray. The victim was unable to run away from the accused's flat the next day as she was watched over by his wife while the accused went to work. When he returned, the accused told his wife to put on a pornographic movie and called for the girl to sit beside him. He then had sexual intercourse with his wife, forcing the victim to "watch and learn from them". Later in the night, he sodomised her. She was subsequently conveyed to the KK Women's and Children's Hospital and a genital examination revealed a ripped vulva and swollen anus. The case has been adjourned for mitigation next Monday. The maximum penalty for rape is 20 years' jail and 24 strokes of the cane while the possession of obscene films incurs a fine of S$1,000 for each film, not exceeding S$40,000 or up to 12 months imprisonment or both. 50-year-old raped on first date

KUALA LUMPUR: A middle-aged woman's search for love on the Internet took a sour turn after she was raped and blackmailed. It is learnt that the 50-year-old woman had gone to a house in Cheras to meet a foreign man she had befriended through a social networking site in May. The woman had been communicating with the man for the past two months and he had asked her to meet him at his house. Sources revealed that when she went to the house on June 30, he locked her in. The victim then claimed that she was put under a spell. “She woke up later to find herself naked in bed with no one in the house at the time,” the source said. After a few days, a parcel containing a pen drive was sent to the victim's home. The pen drive allegedly contained a recording of her being raped by two men. The suspects then demanded that the victim pay a substantial amount of money to stop them from making the recording public. “The suspects said they would upload the four-minute video onto the Internet if she fails to pay the money,” he added. The woman then lodged a police report at the Cheras police station. Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohan Singh confirmed that a report was lodged on July 4. He said police had picked up three men aged between 30 and 32 in connection with the incident. They have been remanded until today to facilitate investigations. Ex-MOE scholar jailed for sexual offences with minor

SINGAPORE: Former Ministry of Education scholar Jonathan Wong Wai Kheong was sentenced to five years' jail on Monday. Twenty-five-year-old Wong was previously charged in Singapore with 10 counts of sexual offences with an underage girl. He was found guilty on five counts, including two counts of committing indecent acts and three counts of having sex with a minor. Wong, who was caught for possessing child pornography in Britain, was expelled by the University of York and had his scholarship revoked in 2010. He is now an editorial assistant with a publishing company here. Wong and the girl, who was then 15 years old, became close after chatting online over Facebook and Skype. Wong addressed the girl as "daughter" and the girl in turn called him "daddy". They later met up and had sex on several occasions between February and June last year. These included oral sex at a toilet at Esplanade Drive. They also had sex at staircase landings of blocks in Bukit Batok Central and Woodlands Drive. Wong also lured the girl into sex under the pretence of sexual education. On one occasion, he told the girl to strip and masturbate in an online video chat. He then took nude pictures of her, unknown to her. The court heard that Wong, who has been diagnosed a paedophile, had a 22-year-old girlfriend at the time of the offences. Deputy Public Prosecutor Kavita Uthrapathy described Wong as a "smooth-operator" who "sexually-groomed" the girl. She also brought up Wong's past offences, which included molesting a schoolgirl and peeping into a female toilet, when he was in secondary school. Wong, who appeared in court in shackles, told the court that he was "deeply remorseful." In a six-page handwritten mitigation plea, Wong admitted that his condition would trigger when faced with pornography or when he came into close "emotional and physical contact with an underage girl". In his statement, Wong added that he had taken precautionary steps, including seeking psychological treatment and a self-imposed curfew. He also said that he had deleted every contact he had of any girl below 18 years of age, from his phone and Facebook. District Judge Jasbendar Kaur, in her sentencing, condemned Wong for "taking advantage of a vulnerable girl" in order "to satisfy his own base sexual needs." She said Wong's offences were serious and highlighted the multiple sexual occasions. However, she noted that it was "heartening" that Wong was "quite clear and determined in seeking necessary professional help". Under the Children and Young Persons Act, anyone convicted of sexual exploitation can be jailed up to two years and fined S$5,000. Man jailed 8 years, 12 strokes of cane for oral sex with minor

A man was sentenced to eight years' corrective training and 12 strokes of the cane on Monday for sexually abusing a six-year-old boy.

Khamis Dawi, 47, had admitted to sexual assault by penetrating a minor at the void deck of an HDB block in July last year without his consent.

A district court heard that the victim and his seven-year-old sister were playing at the void deck on a Sunday in July last year when Khamis asked them to follow him.

He led them to some stone tables. The girl was afraid of him and ran away. She hid behind a nearby letter box and saw what Khamis did to her brother.

The offence came to light when the victim was warded in hospital on Aug 3 last year for stomach flu.

His sister revealed to a patient that she had seen her brother do something to a man.

The patient told his mother who advised the victim's mother to lodge a police report.

The victim was assessed to have low IQ and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

A psychiatrist had assessed Khamis, who has previous convictions, to have a high risk of sexual re-offending.

Man jailed 4 months for sexually abusing 15-year-old girl

A man who sexually abused a 15-year-old girl was jailed for four months on Monday.

Ng Wai Yeong, 23, had admitted to two charges of sexual assault by penetration of a minor at a condominium carpark and along Lorong Lew Lian in November 2010.

A district court heard that shortly after meeting the victim at a Halloween party, Ng kept in touch with her by sending her messages over Facebook and phone as well as calling her.

He started picking her up from school in his car and sending her home and to her training sessions. Sometime in November 2010, he picked her up from her condominium and drove to a shaded area in the car park where he committed the offence.

On another occasion between November and December that year, he passed her some medication and drove her to Lorong Lew Lian where he committed the oral sex offence.

Soon after that, he sent a naked picture of himself to her mobile phone. Her mother saw it and confiscated it.

The victim confessed to her about what she and Ng had done.

Four other charges were taken into consideration during his sentencing.

He could have been jailed for up to 10 years and/or fined on each of the two charges.

Girl attacked and groped in lift, then learns CCTV camera is only a casing

The 17-year-old student's worst fears were realised when she was accosted in the lift of her Woodlands Drive HDB block early last Saturday. A tall, well-built man slipped in past the lift's closing doors and wrapped his right arm around her neck. That was just the start of her five-minute ordeal, during which the man not only robbed but also groped her. She reported the matter to the police, who searched the area but could not find the man. Former SCDF chief charged with corruption

SINGAPORE: The former chief of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Peter Lim Sin Pang, has been charged with 10 counts of corruption.

The court on Wednesday heard that the former SCDF commissioner allegedly obtained sexual gratification from three women between May 2010 and November 2011.


From a hotel in Paris to car parks in various parts of Singapore and apartments in Clementi and Tanjong Rhu, these were where Lim, 52, allegedly had sex with three women - two vendors and a potential vendor.


Lim allegedly had oral sex from Lee Wei Hoon, a director of Singapore Radiation Centre and Pang Chor Mui, a general manager at Nimrod Engineering.


Lim is also accused of having sex on seven occasions with Esther Goh Tok Mui, a business development director at NCS Private Limited.


In return, Lim would show favour to the companies where the women are working in, for IT-related tenders called by the SCDF.


Lim, who is married, was arrested by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) in January this year and removed from his post in the same month.


He is now out on a S$10,000 bail.


His passport has also been surrendered to the CPIB.


Dressed in a blue long-sleeved shirt, Lim arrived at the Subordinate Courts in a black car on Wednesday. 


He appeared worried as the charges were read out in court, and declined comment when approached by the media. 


A couple, who accompanied Lim as he walked out of court, told MediaCorp that they were there to give Lim moral support.


Lim will be back in court on July 5. 


If convicted, he could be jailed up to five years and fined S$100,000 for each charge.


The other high-ranking civil servant embroiled in the same case is Ng Boon Gay, former director of the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).


Ng, who has also been removed from his post, was arrested about two weeks before Lim.


He has yet to be charged.

Man rape niece and filmed the act

A MAN in his 30s raped his 22-year-old niece, filmed the act and threatened to release the video if she refused to marry him. Harian Metro, quoting police sources, reported that the college student had accompanied her uncle to a night market in Kota Damansara.

“After they were done shopping at around 1am, the suspect took the victim to an oil palm estate in Kundang. He stopped the car and started molesting the victim while professing his love. He then asked for her hand in marriage,” said the source. Fearing for her safety, the victim agreed to marry the man and pleaded not to be harmed.

However, the victim's plea fell on deaf ears and the suspect proceeded to rape her. He even filmed the act and threatened to show others the video if she refused to marry him. The victim lodged a report at the Gombak district police headquarters immediately after the suspect sent her home in the morning.

Girl, 12, sneaks out to have sex

A 12-YEAR-OLD girl has been sneaking out of her home in Ranau, Sabah, every night to have sex with her 22-year-old boyfriend, reported Metro Ahad.

Her parents found out about her nocturnal activities when they caught her returning home at 3am on Saturday, looking messy.

The girl had sneaked out of her house after her parents slept to meet the youth at Kampung Kauluan Kundasang at around 11pm. When her father confronted her, she claimed that she spent the night at a friend's house but confessed later to having sex with the man.

Ranau OCPD Deputy Supt Abdul Rahman Kassim said the boyfriend had been arrested for statutory rape while the girl had been sent to Ranau Hospital for a medical examination.
