A MAN who had consensual sex with his 20-year-old daughter was jailed for three years on Monday.
The 47-year-old freelance plumber admitted to the incest at the master bedroom of his flat in April 2008. The parties cannot be named as there is a gag order.
The daughter, now 23, was initially charged in March last year but was later given a discharge not amounting to an acquittal. The accused had failed to turn up and the court issued a warrant for his arrest.
The court heard that he had been bringing his daughter for drinking sessions with his friends at coffeeshops since 2006. As they spent more time together, they became emotionally closer, and eventually, this developed into a sexual relationship.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Leong Wing Tuck said on one night in April 2008, both returned home after a beer drinking session. The accused's wife was not at home. While the accused was lying in bed, a small argument broke out between them when she showed little interest in talking to him as she was busy checking her e-mails on the laptop computer at the edge of the bed.
She apologised, and he asked her for a hug. They began caressing each other. They then had sex. A week later, they had a heated argument over the issue of her furthering her studies. She then texted a friend to call the police, who arrested him.

Malaysian student gang-raped in London
PETALING JAYA - AN 18-YEAR-OLD Malaysian student in London was allegedly gang-raped by several Russian men, including an intelligence officer who has been charged with the offence.
The Sun tabloid of London, which broke the story on Thursday, reported that the girl had attended a party at the prestigious Bellerbys College in Greenwich, South London, where she is studying.
The report, quoting sources, claimed that the girl was allegedly drugged and then filmed while being assaulted by seven Russian men, including the intelligence officer identified as Oleg Vladimirvich Ivanov, 23.
The attack is said to have happened early last Sunday during the party attended by English language students of the college. The report stated that police retrieved iPhones with harrowing footage of the victim being gang-raped.
Ivanov was charged with three others identified as Gregory Andreev Melnikov, 22, Norayr Davtyan, 25, and Arnen Simonay, 26, with the offence at the Woolwich Magistrates' Court on Tuesday and Wednesday. All four claimed trial and have been remanded. They will appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday.

Camera pen voyeur jailed
A FORMER cabby who used a camera pen to take upskirt videos of his female passengers was jailed for six months on Friday.
Albert Lim Meng Hie, 54, now unemployed, had admitted to three counts of insulting the modesty of a 21-year-old student and two unknown women in his taxi in 2009. Two other similar charges were considered during his sentencing.
The court heard that the young undergraduate was taking Lim's cab on June 30, 2009 when she saw him fidgeting with some objects at the arm-rest area next to him.
Subsequently, she saw a pen placed vertically and recognised it to be a camera pen as she had seen the device on a Chinese e-commerce website www.alibaba.com She discreetly took photographs of the camera pen and later reported it to the police.
The camera pen was seized from Lim's condominium in Pasir Ris. Five upskirt video clips were found stored on it by officers from the technology crime forensic branch of the Criminal Investigation Department.
Last month, sales manager Soo Ee Hock, 35, was sentenced to nine months jail for being the first 'camera-pen voyeur'. Lim, who is married with three children, could have been jailed for up to one year or fined or with both on each charge.

US rapist used Facebook to meet young victims
NEW YORK - A NEW YORK man described by police as a sexual predator who used Facebook to meet his victims pleaded guilty on Wednesday to raping four underage girls.
David Bradt, 24, of Colonie, in northern New York state, who faces 12 years in prison, used the popular social networking site to try to lure hundreds of girls into encounters, police said.
'He was using Facebook as a means to meet underage girls,' Colonie Police Lieutenant Robert Winn said. 'He was providing them with marijuana and soliciting them for sex as well.' Lieutenant Winn said Bradt connected with girls on Facebook through a type of pyramid scheme.
'He started off by gaining one friendship with a girl,' Lieutenant Winn said. 'Then he had access to her friend page and requested to be friends with all friends, using her as a reference point.'
When police in Colonie, a suburb of Albany, New York, arrested Bradt in October, he had around 700 Facebook friends, most of whom appeared to be underage, they said. He pleaded guilty to four counts of rape and is expected to be sentenced in Albany County Court in March.
Lieutenant Winn said police were first alerted to Bradt's behaviour when a mother of a 16-year-old girl learned of her daughter's friendship with him and contacted police. Rapist father jailed, caned
SINGAPORE: A father who raped his seven-year-old daughter was jailed 11 years jail and given 16 strokes of the cane on Tuesday morning in court.
The prosecution told the court that the rape was committed by the girl's father whose job was to protect and care for the child.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Sabrina Choo said that although the 42-year-old had mitigated that he was under the influence of alcohol, intoxication has been disregarded as a mitigating factor in sentencing. The fact that this was the man's first offence of this nature was also of limited value, she added.
One morning in 2005, the then-Primary One student was alone at home with her father. Her mother was at work and her two elder brothers were not home.
The father entered the girl's bedroom when she was sleeping and removed her clothes, waking the girl up. He told her to keep quiet, and instructed her to close her eyes and place her hands behind her back. The girl complied with the instructions as she was afraid of her father, who then raped her.
After the rape, her father told her to take a shower and later sent her to school. When they arrived at school, he told her not to tell anyone what had happened. She only confided in a teacher about the incident last February when the teacher told the story of "Little Red Riding Hood" in class to illustrate the dangers of talking to strangers.
The teacher asked the class if they had previous encounters with strangers. Later during the class, the girl told the teacher that her father had done "the sex thing" to her.
The man has been on the wrong side of the law since 1989. He was fined $800 for drug possession that year. In 1998 and 2002, he was jailed for 12 months and three years and six months respectively for drug consumption.

In the March incident, he was squatting next to a 27-year-old woman when he stroked her right heel while she was talking to a colleague. Three months later, he was in the same supermarket when he brushed against the buttocks of another 27-year-old woman.
A third charge was considered during his sentencing. His lawyer R. Kalamohan said the father of one had been unemployed since 2009 as he was unable to stay in the same job for long, due to his delusional disorder.
Asking for a fine, counsel told District Judge Low Wee Ping that his client would be going to India with his father to seek treatment and rehabilitation in Madurai in Tamil Nadu.

Social networking leads to sex faster
NEW YORK - NEARLY four out of five women and three of five men say they believe texting, Facebook and other social networking tools cause new couples to jump into bed faster, a survey released by Shape and Men's Fitness magazines on Monday showed.
Smart phones and laptops are the new toys that lead to the bedroom, it said, with nearly 80 per cent of women and 58 per cent of men saying social media tools leads to sex faster.
Texting is the No. 1 way lovers stay in touch, the survey found, with men texting 39 per cent more often than phoning and women 150 per cent more. Even before the magic begins, 70 per cent of women and 63 per cent of men use Google and other online tools to screen potential dates.
Sixty-five per cent of those polled said they had been asked out by text and 49 per cent through a Facebook message. Once the relationship clicks, 72 per cent of women report scouring a current partner's ex-girlfriends' Facebook pages.
Even in the heat of passion, some people just can't get enough of their digital devices, the survey found. When a call or text comes in during sex, 5 per cent of respondents said they glance to see who is calling and 1 per cent say they stop to answer the phone.
And when the spark is extinguished, digital dumping is the new way to break up, with 43 per cent of women and 27 per cent of men reporting getting a text along the lines of 'It's not you, it's me.' For the heartbroken, the Internet keeps hope alive, with 81 per cent of all respondents saying they won't de-friend an ex on Facebook and 75 per cent admitting to constantly checking a former sweetheart's page.

The teacher, who used the story of Little Red Riding Hood to illustrate the dangers of talking to strangers, noticed that the Primary 6 pupil looked upset when asked if she had previous encounters with strangers.
Later, the girl told the teacher in private that her father had done the 'sex thing' to her.
When pressed further, she revealed that when she was in Primary 1, her father had raped her while her mother was at work and two older brothers were not at home.
On Monday, the 42-year-old man pleaded guilty in the High Court to one charge of raping his daughter in the family flat sometime in 2005.
A second charge of molesting the girl in January last year by touching her breast, will be taken into consideration when he is sentenced.

12-year-old raped by brother on mum's orders
AFTER being raped by her brother on her mother's orders, a 12-year-old girl was given over to a loan shark to settle her mother's debts.
Since the incident 14 years ago, the victim, who only identified herself as Lili, has turned to prostitution to support herself for the past eight years, reported Harian Metro.
'I blame my mother for my situation now. I will never forgive her,' said Ms Lili, 26. She said her ordeal began after she went back to stay with her family after living with an aunt for nine years.
'After I was raped, my mother gave me to her loan shark who repeatedly raped me... I escaped and told my aunt what my mother and brother had done and she made a police report,' said Ms Lili.
She added her family was in disarray because her mother had also 'sold' four other sisters of her 10 siblings.
Ms Lili was taken in by Malaysia's Welfare Department after her mother and brother were arrested, but moved to Kuala Terengganu once she turned 18 and started to work as a prostitute.
She has three children, two of whom she gave away. She is currently expecting her fourth child. She is caring for her third child but plans to put her fourth child up for adoption. -- THE STAR/ANN

A YOUTH who infected a 14-year-old with a sexually transmitted disease has admitted to two counts of sexual penetration of a minor.
Eben Pua Kok Kiang, 20, a full-time national serviceman, had unprotected sex with the girl, a student, within two days of meeting her through a mutual friend in October 2009.
The girl went to his home on Oct 25 that year where they had consensual sex, the court heard. She had sex with him again on Nov 23 when she went to his home.
About a month later, the girl went to a a polyclinic and complained of pain when passing urine. She also told the doctor of her multiple sexual encounters with Pua.
The doctor had arranged for her to undergo urine and pregnancy tests but she left without providing her urine samples.
On Jan 18 last year, the victim was escorted to hospital and found to have chlamydia trachomatis

Send money or we'll gang-rape your daughter...again
A British woman was gang raped for two hours in a Thailand hotel by men who then phoned her mother to demand money.
The 23-year-old claims she was assaulted by a group of Swedes and Thais in a room near Patong Beach, in Phuket, after agreeing to go back for a party.
In a sickening phone call, her attackers told her mother back in Britain that they would rape her again unless they received money.
The men placed a hood over her head and then laughed as they phoned her mother.
"She had gone back to the room with a Swede," said a friend.
But inside there were five others, including three Thais.
She was raped and then one of them demanded her mother's phone number.
There was laughter as one of the gang members told her mother that unless she sent money, her daughter would be raped again.
She has now left the country.

Indonesian police say toy salesman raped 96 kids
JAKARTA (Indonesia) - POLICE say an Indonesian toy salesman has admitted to raping at least 96 boys.
The 34-year-old man was arrested last week in the capital Jakarta after a complaint was filed by the parents of one of the alleged victims.
Police investigator Reynold Hutagalung says the suspect confessed during interrogations to raping at least 96 boys between the ages of 13 and 17 over the last two years.
Mr Hutagalung says most of his victims were street kids found hanging out at train stations.

A businesswoman, who is also a social worker from a non-governmental organisation, lodged a report over this with the Patani Road police station at about 4pm yesterday. The 41-year-old claimed that the children were raped, sodomised and molested by the staff, the home's committee members as well as its volunteers.
George Town police chief Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng said police were investigating the case, without divulging any further information on the issue.
State Health, Welfare, Caring Society and Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh said he, too, was aware of the claims. 'I have received complaints and reports about sexual abuse in the home and my officers are investigating the claims under the Child's Act 2001,' he said.
However, the home's legal adviser denied the claims. 'We are not aware of anything,' he said at the home yesterday. 'This is really shocking.' He claimed that the businesswoman had earlier brought the mother and aunt of a sister and a brother, aged 15 and four respectively, to the centre, claiming that the children's father had died. 'They had wanted to take the kids home.'

Martial arts coach on trial for statutory rape of student
HE WAS the instructor of the martial arts club in a secondary school, and she, a Secondary 1 student, was a new member of the club.
A month after she joined it, the 41-year-old married father of two asked the 13-year-old to be his girlfriend.
They became physically intimate and had sex in his car. They even went to a temple to solemnise their 'marriage', and addressed each other as lao gong (husband in Mandarin) and lao po (wife).
All this was related by prosecutors in the High Court on Wednesday, the first day of the man's trial on three counts of statutory rape and four counts of sexual exploitation.
The alleged offences took place between February and May 2007.
The man, now 45, is denying the allegations. He is defended by Mr Martin Decruz, and will rely on a home video shot by one of his disciples as an alibi for two of the charges.

They became physically intimate and had sex in his car. They even went to a temple to solemnise their 'marriage', and addressed each other as lao gong (husband in Mandarin) and lao po (wife).
All this was related by prosecutors in the High Court on Wednesday, the first day of the man's trial on three counts of statutory rape and four counts of sexual exploitation.
The alleged offences took place between February and May 2007.
The man, now 45, is denying the allegations. He is defended by Mr Martin Decruz, and will rely on a home video shot by one of his disciples as an alibi for two of the charges.

Religious teacher held for molesting girl, 14
NIBONG TEBAL - A RELIGIOUS school teacher has been arrested for allegedly fondling the private parts of a 14-year-old girl during a ritual to cleanse the girl of a 'spell' cast on her.
The suspect, in his 40s, from Sungai Bakap was picked up after the girl lodged a police report.
South Seberang Prai OCPD Supt Shafien Mamat said the girl claimed the teacher molested her while she was taking a bath in his house at 9am on Sunday.

Siblings made sex slaves by grandpa and uncle
THREE young girls from Kuching left home after their parents divorced and went to live with their grandfather with the hope of getting protection and peace of mind.
However, it turned out to be two years of nightmare for the siblings when their grandfather and an uncle allegedly used them as sex slaves, causing the eldest among the girls to become pregnant, Metro Ahad reported.
The girls' mother suspected something amiss when she noticed some physical changes in her 16-year-old daughter and took her for a medical check-up.
The mother was shocked to learn that her teenage daughter was pregnant and the man responsible was said to be the girl's 34-year-old uncle. To make matters worse, the mother found out that the man and the girls' 57-year-old grandfather had used her three daughters as sex slaves.
The paper, quoting Kuching district police chief Asst Comm Mun Kock Keong, said the police nabbed the two men at 6pm on Friday after the mother made a police report.
It is learnt the girl has been temporarily placed at a welfare home. Asst Comm Mun said the police had yet to receive any report regarding the alleged sexual assault on the two younger girls whose ages were not mentioned.

Portuguese TV star slain, castrated at NYC hotel
NEW YORK - A MALE model who had recently been a contestant on a Portuguese reality TV show was taken into police custody hours after his companion, a celebrity Portuguese television journalist, was found castrated and bludgeoned to death in a New York City hotel.
The journalist, 65-year-old Carlos Castro, had arrived in the US in late December in the company of his young boyfriend, the model Renato Seabra, to see some Broadway shows and spend New Year's Eve in Times Square, according to a family friend.
There had been some friction between the two men toward the end of the trip, but nothing to suggest that anything horrible was about to happen, said the friend, Luis Pires, the editor of the Portuguese language newspaper Luso-Americano.
The couple had been due to meet Pires' daughter for dinner on Friday night, but Seabra suddenly emerged in the lobby of the InterContinental New York Times Square hotel acting strangely, Pires said.

Teacher caught having sex with student
Police arrested a high school teacher in Plainfield, Illinois, in the US, after she was caught having sex with a 16-year-old student in a parking lot.
Ashley Blumenshine was found in a car with a 16-year-old boy
Ashley M. Blumenshine, 27, has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Police reportedly found her and the boy inside a vehicle at 6.20pm outside the Kohl’s department store Tuesday night.
Blumenshine, who is single, is a dance teacher at Plainfield North High School, where the boy is a junior.
Police chief William Doster said officers were on patrol checking the parking lot when they saw two vehicles parked next to each other.
One was unoccupied while Blumenshine was in the driver’s seat of the other vehicle with the boy in the back.

Assistant Will County State’s Attorney Mary Fillipitch said both occupants admitted they had just engaged in consensual sexual intercourse and a condom was taken as evidence from the vehicle.
"Blumenshine told police she knew he was a student at Plainfield North High School," Fillipitch told Judge Marzell L. Richardson during a bond hearing.
The teacher has taught at the school district since 2006. She choreographed several dances for the school's spring show in May, according to the district’s website.
She was also an assistant cheerleading coach at Plainfield South High School in the 2006-07 school year.
Doster said the affair appeared to had been going on for a month or so.
He said: "Sad for the teacher, sad for the student, sad for the school, sad for the community.'Some of the students are upset about the whole thing. It does get to be a little traumatic for the students.'"
The aggravated criminal sexual abuse charge is a felony punishable by three to seven years in prison.

Francis Lee Kwok-wah, 49, was sentenced to eight years jail on Thursday.
He was said to have turned an 11–year-old girl into his sex slave in 2005 until she left the home.
He had also fondled the breasts of another girl, who is 18 now.

It has 27 live-in children including 20 girls. Most of its funding is from Hong Kong donors.
Lee visited the home two to three times a year for one or two weeks at a time, and it was during these visits that he committed the crimes.
Apart from the two victims, Lee was also said to have sneaked into the rooms and molested the girls while they were asleep.
Investigators have a list of some 10 names, but most of them refused to testify and others could not be located.
The scandal was exposed when some children repeatedly complained to two social workers of Lee's behaviour.
The children's home was closed following the arrest of Lee, and the children were sent to boarding schools.
Lee, a polio patient, is married with two daughters.

Circumcision helps stop wart virus
WASHINGTON - RESEARCHERS have documented yet another health benefit for circumcision, which can protect men against the AIDS virus, saying it can protect their wives and girlfriends from a virus that causes cervical cancer.
Wives and girlfriends of circumcised men had a 28 per cent lower rate of infection over two years with the human papilloma virus or HPV, which causes warts and cervical cancer, they reported in the Lancet medical journal on Thursday.
'Our findings indicate that male circumcision should now be accepted as an efficacious intervention for reducing the prevalence and incidence of HPV infections in female partners.
However, protection is only partial; the promotion of safe sex practices is also important,' Dr. Maria Wawer and colleagues at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore wrote.
Dr Wawer's team piggybacked the HPV study onto a larger study that has shown circumcised men are less likely to be infected with the human immunodeficiency virus that causes AIDS.
They were able to get details on HPV infections for nearly 1,000 of the women, all identified by men as long-term sex partners such as wives. After two years, 27.8 per cent of the steady partners of circumcised men had HPV infections, compared to 38.7 per cent of the partners of uncircumcised men.

Malaysia council guard a sex slave to officers
A FEMALE guard of a local council in Selangor was allegedly forced to become a sex slave to three enforcement officers there for three years, Harian Metro reported,
Her husband, who wanted to be known only as Mr Mohd Hassan, 60, was quoted as saying he did not suspect that his wife's elusiveness and excuses to go to work over the weekends and public holidays were due to that reason.
He added that her dark secret was revealed only a year after she decided to stop working. He said that when she quit, she had claimed that she wanted to look after her mother's house while her mother was on her pilgrimage.
Not convinced with her excuse, he kept pressuring her to tell him the truth and she finally revealed the secret to him and her mother.
He said his wife was allegedly raped for the first time at a location near his house when one of the enforcement officers offered to send her home. The enforcement officer allegedly forced her to give in to his demands and threatened to hurt or dismiss her if she declined.
He also 'promoted' her to two other enforcement officers, who also allegedly raped her including in the car, office storeroom, staircase and toilet. Mr Mohd Hassan lodged a police report last March.

JOHOR BARU - USING bomoh services as a front, a man provided sexual services instead of traditional healing services.
The Indonesian's operations were uncovered when enforcement officers from the state Immigration Department here raided his house in Taman Tun Ungku Aminah on Wednesday.
During the raid at 5.40pm, the officers discovered three rooms in the house that had been converted for sexual activities between customers and sex workers, believed to be Indonesians. 'Each customer is charged RM100 (S$42) per session and we believe the medium has been running the sex services for more than a year,' said state Immigration Department deputy assistant director (II) Amzari A Jalil.
He said the house, which is behind a Chinese temple, was secluded and only regular customers were familiar with the place. Mr Amzari said prior to the raid, his officers went undercover under Ops Sayang to investigate vice activities in the area.
He added that they arrested the 40-year-old medium and two sex workers aged 27 and 30. Another sex worker managed to escape. During the same operation, the department raided an illegal karaoke centre here and detained nine Indonesians and a Filipino aged between 25 and 40, believed to be sex workers.
The department also detained a 62-year-old local man for trying to prevent department officers from carrying out their duties. He said the centre, located near a shopping complex on the Skudai highway, was also believed to be a gambling den.

Finnish court fines nipple-sucking doctor
HELSINKI - A FINNISH doctor who said he sucked a patient's nipple in line with an old midwives' diagnostic trick has been fined for subjecting the 20-year-old woman to a 'sexual act', a court said on Wednesday.
Two lower courts earlier ruled that the doctor, who insisted he had obtained the patient's permission, had not committed a crime.
But overturning those rulings, the Finnish Supreme Court said in a statement that the hospital doctor had been sentenced to 'a fine and compensation for sexually taking advantage of a patient and violation of his professional duty'.
The doctor said that he merely used the technique to diagnose a medical problem in accordance with the long-established midwives' practice during a 2007 appointment for an ultrasound breast exam.
The court added that it considered 'it proven that it was indeed a sexual act'. The doctor was ordered to pay a fine of approximately 80 days' salary. He must also pay the woman 1,200 euros (S$2,040) in compensation, less than half the 3,000 euros she had requested.
The court said it had decided not to impose a higher penalty because 'it was an isolated act perpetrated against an adult plaintiff.'

Man filmed sex clips, then put them on Net
WHILE he was engaged in sex with different women, the intimate moments were filmed with a video camera hidden in a plastic bag with a slit.
Some women were willing parties for the filming, but others were filmed without their consent.
Chen Guilin, alias Gary Ng, then posted some of the video clips on the Internet with the women's faces masked.
The 28-year-old on Tuesday pleaded guilty to possessing 507 obscene films, of which more than 480 were clips of him having sex with various women.
The items were seized by police from his flat at Yishun Street 22 in June last year. The police also found another person's identity card in his flat.
The former property agent on Tuesday also admitted to seven other offences, including breaking into the home of his client while she was away, forgery and criminal breach of trust.

M'sian jailed for molesting pupil on school excursion
GEE Ah Meng, 54, went up to a 10-year-old pupil on a school excursion at Changi airport and caressed the boy's chest for about 30 seconds in November last year.
The unmarried Malaysian pleaded guilty to outraging the modesty of his victim and was jailed 2 1/2 months on Monday.
A second charge of touching the chest of another pupil two minutes later was taken into consideration by the judge.
His jail term was backdated to Nov 16, the date he was remanded
Gee, who is jobless, could have been jailed up to five years and fined or caned for molesting victims under the age of 14.
