MALACCA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A 19-year-old girl was locked up, assaulted and forced to have sex with several men whom her captors brought before she was rescued during a police raid at a budget hotel in Taman Melaka Raya here.
The victim, from Sungai Semun, Perak, told police she was battered with a television cable several times and her pictures taken whenever she bathed at the home of a 20-year-old woman, said to be vice ring's leader.
One of her captors threatened to upload her nude pictures on YouTube if she refused to be a hooker. The victim, in her police report, claimed she was forced to entertain 'many clients' even though she was exhausted after every session.
A police team, who had been on the trail of the ring leader, raided the hotel and nabbed three women before rescuing the victim. In a follow-up operation, police picked up a 21-year-old man in Klebang near here and seized several of the victim's belongings and RM450 (S$184) in cash.
Investigations revealed that the victim was persuaded to come to Malacca by a woman, known as Nabsiah, with a promise that she would be employed at a fast food restaurant here.
However, upon her arrival, she was kept captive in a house and assaulted by Nabsiah and her gang members and told that she would have to 'entertain' a list of clients.
Datuk K. Basil, who heads a state government task force to eradicate vice, said state police chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Chuah Ghee Lye had ordered the raid.
'SAC Chuah was concerned over an earlier report that a woman from Malacca had allegedly lured runaway girls and kept them captive here before forcing them into prostitution,' he said.
Basil said the task force, set up by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam, would work closely with the police and local authorities to wipe out prostitution in the state.
He said two members of the vice ring were expected to be charged under the Anti-Human Trafficking Act 2007.
On Dec 2, another 19-year-old girl from Ulu Temiang in Negri Sembilan said she was forced to have sex with six men.
The teenager was believed to be among a group of runaway girls that the woman and a male accomplice had lured for prostitution.
Negri Sembilan police later detained the 29-year-old woman and the man at a hotel in Bahau during a raid. Several teenage girls were rescued in that operation

Teacher pleads guilty to sex with 14-year-old student
A teacher told his wife that he was giving 'private tuition' but was actually having sex with a 14-year-old student.
On Dec 23, the teacher, now 41, pleaded guilty in a district court to having sex with a minor. He will be sentenced on Jan 17 next year. The man cannot be named to protect the identity of the student, a minor at that time.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Kavitha Uthrapathy said that the man, then 38 and married with a child, bought gifts for the student and told her how pretty she was while on a school trip to Korea.
She agreed to be his girlfriend and they would meet and talk initially. He would pick her up in his car and send her home after school. He also tutored her for free. He lied about an unhappy marriage and that his wife was filing for a divorce.
They first had sex in the CCA room some time in November or December 2007 before school started at 7.30am. Then, on her 15th birthday, he bought her a black dress and a pair of sandals and also booked a room at Orchid Country Club where they spent the afternoon. On other occasions, they had sex in his car at a car park in Upper Seletar Reservoir Park.
In 2008, the school received a complaint about inappropriate behaviour between the teacher and the student while on a school trip to the United States.
He assured the principal and vice-principal that he was like a father to her. However, he was issued a warning letter for impropriety. He then became depressed and was granted medical leave till he was transferred to another secondary school in January 2009. The relationship continued all this while.
A year later in January 2010, his wife was on maternity leave after having their second child. She used his cellphone to take pictures of the newborn and discovered intimate text messages to the student and an ex-student.
He told her that they were his students and promised to stop giving them private tuition. The two teenagers also denied being in a relationship with her husband.
However, the younger teen felt let down that the wife had a second child and that the man was also having sex with the ex-student. She broke off the relationship.
In April last year, the man's wife told the student's mother about her suspicions. Her father then lodged a police report.

60-year sentence for serial rapes in Shizuoka possibly a Japan first
On November 30, a most unusual prison sentence of 60 years was handed down to 35-year-old Takashi Ozawa, who raped and assaulted nine women in Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture and other areas over a period of nine years.
Weekly tabloid Shukan Jitsuwa (Dec. 22) sets about determining why such a length was decided considering a revised law from 2004 limits imprisonment for rape to a maximum of 30 years.
“Prior to the current court case (November), he had been found guilty of theft, in March 2009,” says a reporter specializing in legal affairs. “The timing of that case was such that it created a separation within the time period of the rape crimes. Therefore, he couldn’t be tried under one case.”
Specifically, five cases occurred between 2001 and the date of his conviction for theft; four others cases took place after. The court broke the crimes into two groups and issued a sentence of 60 years in total.
“The defendant has abnormal sexual habits and a personality that is a high risk for recurrence,” prosecutors said. “He will require a substantial period of rehabilitation.”
Attorneys for the defendant commented, “We are astonished to see a penalty of this magnitude.”
“I have never heard of combining two 30-year sentences to make 60,” says Tadashi Makino, a former prosecutor and now an attorney. “Perhaps this is the first of its kind. However, charging 30 years for a set of five incidents and a set of four is understandable.”
In actuality, he was sentenced to 24 years and 26 years for the two groups of cases, respectively, on December 5.
Makino adds that such consecutive sentences is worse than life imprisonment. “If he were imprisoned indefinitely, he would possibly be able to get out after serving just 30 years,” the former lawyer says. “In being imprisoned separately, it is much more severe compared to an indefinite term.”
“I feel great remorse for damaging women’s lives,” Ozawa said in his final statement. Shukan Jitsuwa, however, thinks he is more remorseful about not confessing to rape when he got caught for theft. (K.N.)

2 men charged with paying a 16-year-old girl for sex
wo men were charged on Thursday with paying an under-18 Vietnamese girl for sex.
Yeo Joo Meng, 55, a store personnel, is accused of two counts of paying the 16-year-old girl for her sexual services at Lorong 28 Geylang. He allegedly paid her $130 on the first occasion in end-2010, and $100 in July this year.
Yeo, represented by Mr Andrew Tan Tiong Gee, will return to court on Dec 29.
In the same court, Winson Chan Swee Teck, 49, is said to have had paid $100 for sex with the same girl at Lorong 28 Geylang in July this year.
His lawyer Abdul Jalil Muhammad Tahir, said he had just been briefed and sought an adjournment to take instructions and make representations.
Chan's next court date is Dec 22.
It is a crime to have paid sex with a person under 18. The law came into effect in February 2008.
If convicted, both can be jailed for up to seven years and/or fined.

Zimbabwean women rape men for rituals: Report
HARARE, Zimbabwe - Men travelling to Zimbabwe have to be careful not to accept lifts from women.
Zimbabwean police believe there is a syndicate of women who are raping men to 'milk' them for semen to be used in rituals that claim to make people wealthy.
According to a BBC News Africa report, it has taken more than a year for any arrests to be made. Three women are scheduled to face trial in the capital of Harare today over the allegations.
The report said one alleged victim, who requested anonymity, told his story on television in July this year. He said: "One of the women threw water in my face and injected me with something that gave me strong sexual desire.
"They stopped the car and made me have sex with each of them several times, using condoms. When they had finished they left me in the bush totally naked."
He was rescued when some people called the police, who took him to the hospital to mend the effects of the drug, "as the urge to have sex was still there".
The BBC News report added the women were charged in court for aggravated indecent assault since Zimbabwean law did not recognise the act of a woman raping a man.
The women were detained after officers found 31 used condoms in the car that they were travelling in.
The charges were denied by the women who said they were prostitutes and had been too busy to dispose of the condoms.
Police who spoke with the BBC said they believe there is a syndicate operating nationwide.
The semen is believed to be used in rituals to bring success in business, and there are suggestions that they are being taken outside of the country for sale.
A cultural and sociology lecturer Claude Mararikei told the BBC it was not clear how the semen would be used.
He said it is in the area of rituals and magic which border on secret societies. And researchers do not want to go into that area as they may not live to come out and publish their findings. AGENCIES

A woman, 48, was walking home to her Ang Mo Kio flat when she saw Hui Sai Mun, 45, standing in the corridor wearing only a lacy black top and matching panties. He was masturbating and smiled at her.
She did not want to pass him so she took a different route to her flat. The 48-year-old housewife then called a neighbour two floors down to complain about Hui's behaviour.

On Friday, he pleaded guilty to committing an obscene act and insulting the modesty of his neighbours and was jailed for a month. Naked teen molester placed on 2 years' probation
A 15-year-old boy was placed on two years' probation for outraging and insulting the modesty of eight girls, aged from nine to 18 years old. He appeared naked before three of them, touched the buttocks of four victims and exposed himself to a 10-year-old.
All these offences occurred between April and June this year in the Bukit Batok area.
In the Juvenile Court on Thursday, District Judge Edgar Foo ordered the boy to stay in the Boys' Hostel for the first year of probation. After which, he will be allowed to return home but will be supervised by his parents and probation officer.
Other conditions included staying indoors from 9pm to 6am daily and being accompanied by an adult when he goes out. He would also serve 100 hours of community service and undergo psychiatric counselling. His parents had to sign a $2,000 bond each to guarantee their son's good behaviour during the probation period.
Court documents state that he first struck on April 19. An 18-year-old was taking the lift to her flat on the 18th floor at about 7.40pm when he walked in stark naked on the second floor. The teen dashed out and ran down the stairs. She then called her mother who called the police.
He struck again the next day. At 6.35pm, he again walked into the lift on the second floor in his birthday suit. The 16-year-old girl in the lift ignored him but as she got off on the fifth floor, he brushed his hand against her buttocks. The plucky teenager turned around. Blocking the entrance with her body and arms, she asked him what he was trying to do.
He managed to squeeze out and escaped down the stairs.
The flashing incident happened on June 17. By then, police had gathered closed-circuit television video footage of the incidents and were able to arrest the culprit on July 6.

Ex-cleaner jailed 4 years for molesting children
Some of his victims knew him as Uncle Sivam and, despite their tender years, he had no qualms touching them improperly.
On Monday, Satha Sivam Natisam was sentenced to four years in jail. The 49-year-old had pleaded guilty in October to 13 charges of outraging the modesty of four girls, aged between three and 12 years old.
Most of the offences were committed in the Jalan Bukit Merah area between July 2010 and his arrest in February. The single exception was the molest of a 12-year-old girl in Lower Delta Road in March 2006.
He was arrested in February after he had molested a three-year-old toddler. The court issued a gag order on the identity of the girls.
Satha Sivam, who worked as a cleaner until his arrest, had a previous molest conviction. In 1998, he was jailed for nine months.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Toh Puay San said that a long jail term would be in the public interest as Satha Sivam was 'clearly a risk to society'. As he suffers from schizophrenia, she did not press for caning.

SINGAPORE: A teenager took turns with a 40-year-old neighbour to have sex with an underaged girl in a lorry.
His case came up in Court on Friday and he's expected to be sentenced on 12 December, pending a probation report.
If convicted he could be jailed 10 years, fined or given both.
The case against the 40-year-old neighbour, Hang Tuah Jumaat, will come up for mention in January next year.
The 17-year-old teenager is also the ex-boyfriend of the 13-year-old girl.
The teen and Hang Tuah Jumaat invited the girl for drinks and they were all driven to Kranji Camp between 21 to 22 April in 2010 by Hang Tuah Jumaat.
They had drinks together and the girl became intoxicated and drowsy.
Hang Tuah Jumaat then asked the teen to have sex with the girl, but he declined and went to sleep.
When he woke up, he saw Hang Tuah Jumaat having sex with the girl.
The teen was again told by Hang Tuah Jumaat to have sex with the girl and this time he did.
The Court heard that the girl's eyes were closed and she appeared intoxicated throughout.
Hang Tuah Jumaat drove the teen and the girl back, but left the girl sleeping in the lorry when she complained that she could not get up.
The girl later went to school where she was referred to a counselor, and a police report was made.
On the same day, the teenager was detained in school where he admitted to the offence.

A 32-YEAR-OLD man married 21 women through fake marriages and forced them to become prostitutes during the past nine years, Utusan Malaysia reported.
The man's “business” came to an end after one of the women was saved by the police.
He was said to have married 18 locals and three women from a neighbouring country after getting fake marriage certificates from a syndicate.

Shipyard worker on trial for murdering prostitute
DNA of the Indian national accused of murdering Roselyn Reyes Pascua was found on nine items in the room the Filipino woman was stabbed to death in March last year.
Testifying on Wednesday, forensic scientist Kee Koh Kheng said that among other objects, the DNA of Bijukumar Remadevi Nair Gopinathan was found was on a 'pink lacy brassiere', on a pair of denim hot pants and the inside of a brown wallet found between the headboard of the bed and the wall.
His blood was also found on a sanitary pad left on the dressing table.
When cross-examined by defence counsel Shashi Nathan, Ms Kee of the Health Sciences Authority said that the DNA of four unknown men had also been detected in two used condoms and among eight pieces of tissue paper found in the room.
Pascua had been beaten before she was died from a stab that pierced her left lung and penetrated her heart. In all, she was stabbed at least 10 times in the chest and abdomen, once in the neck and twice in the vagina.
The body of the 30-year-old, who is believed to have worked as a prostitute, was found lying in a partitioned room at Peony Mansion in Bencoolen Street, in the early hours of March 15 last year. When arrested three days later, Gopinathan, a shipyard worker, had Pascua's mobile phone and some bloodstained notes on him. He says she provoked him and he stabbed her in a fight.
The trial continues.

Testifying on Wednesday, forensic scientist Kee Koh Kheng said that among other objects, the DNA of Bijukumar Remadevi Nair Gopinathan was found was on a 'pink lacy brassiere', on a pair of denim hot pants and the inside of a brown wallet found between the headboard of the bed and the wall.
His blood was also found on a sanitary pad left on the dressing table.
When cross-examined by defence counsel Shashi Nathan, Ms Kee of the Health Sciences Authority said that the DNA of four unknown men had also been detected in two used condoms and among eight pieces of tissue paper found in the room.
Pascua had been beaten before she was died from a stab that pierced her left lung and penetrated her heart. In all, she was stabbed at least 10 times in the chest and abdomen, once in the neck and twice in the vagina.
The body of the 30-year-old, who is believed to have worked as a prostitute, was found lying in a partitioned room at Peony Mansion in Bencoolen Street, in the early hours of March 15 last year. When arrested three days later, Gopinathan, a shipyard worker, had Pascua's mobile phone and some bloodstained notes on him. He says she provoked him and he stabbed her in a fight.

Aged 50 and married with three children, Jacques is one of the rare Swiss assistants to openly speak out about the services he provides. Even in Switzerland, where the job of sexual assistant has had a proper legal status for more than eight years, the subject remains taboo.
A qualified physiotherapist, with a speciality in urinary and gynaecological issues, Jacques says there is 'still a lot of educating to do on this subject' of sexual assistance for the handicapped, which is often misunderstood. 'Disabled people are still people: they have fantasies, expectations, desires and frustrations,' he said.
The job of the sexual assistant to respond to these needs and give people who might otherwise have little chance of being sexually active due to their handicap the opportunity to feel like a normal human being.
Some sexual assistants show a disabled client how to touch and be touched, others bring the person to orgasm. There is usually a lengthy assessment of what a person's needs are and what he can actually physically achieve with his disability before anything physical takes place.
Across town, far away from Zurich's red light districts, Michelle Gut, an elegant masseuse with long blonde hair, greets clients - many of whom are mentally or physically disabled - at her chic and comfortable Andana massage parlour. A masseuse since the 1990s, Michelle went on to qualify for legal status as a sexual assistant to give disabled clients 'the sexual tenderness they are missing'.
'It is not easy to have a normal private life when you are handicapped,' she said. 'Some people just use pornography, others don't know anything about sexuality at all as they have no experience of it.' Only around a dozen people in Switzerland are trained to give this experience. The training is handled by specialist organisations after a rigorous selection process. One of the requirements stipulates that working as an assistant must not be someone's main job, but rather a secondary line of work.
'It is not a profession in itself, you even have to prove that you have a main profession,' explained Catherine Agthe Diserens, a sex educator who trains sexual assistants. She is also president of the Swiss Sexuality and Handicap charity SEHP, which encourages people with disabilities to be sexually active.

Sexual assistants can also be found in the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark but in other countries, such as France, the job does not yet have a proper legal status. French disabled rights groups have repeatedly raised the issue in the last year, urging official recognition for sex assistants and, significantly, state funding for their services.
In Switzerland, a sexual assistant has a status similar to that of a prostitute, rather than a carer, since services are paid for and the cost is met entirely by the client.
Michelle charges 162 euros (S$285) an hour for the disabled and 220 euros for able-bodied clients, and offers services ranging from classic massage to 'erogenous zone massage', which equates to masturbation, she said.
Penetration is not allowed though, she added adamantly. 'I have some good contacts who are prostitutes and I know some sexual assistants who will go further so if a client wants more, I put them in touch.' Although prostitutes do receive disabled clients, sexual assistants are better viewed by 'parents and heads of institutions', according to Diserens at the charity SEHP.
The reason, she said, is that handicapped clients may need 'more time and contact' than they get with prostitutes who can be rather 'troubled' by certain disabilities.
Using a recognised sexual assistant removes the awkwardness of the situation for both parties, and often for the family too, noted Arnould.
'Is it acceptable that the mother of a young man with Downs syndrome has to help him masturbate every week?' he asked.

'There are some people who disapprove of my work as a sexual assistant and refuse to be treated by me. But others think that the work is good.

The 37-year-old was first charged on Oct 25 with four counts of sexual penetration of a minor below 14 years of age and seven counts of molesting a nine-year-old and 11-year-old student in 2009. He is said to have committed the sexual offences on the boy in the primary school's male staff toilet and computer laboratory four times over eight days in July 2009. Between March and July in 2009, he allegedly put his hand into the 11-year-old's shorts and tickled his private parts on four occasions.
On three occasions in May 2009, he allegedly molested a nine-year-old boy by rubbing his thigh and touching him inappropriately. He was a language teacher at the school at the time of the alleged offences.The case has been adjourned to Jan 9.
If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to five years, fine, caning or any combination of the punishments for each charge of molestation.
The penalty for sexual penetration of a minor is eight to 20 years, plus at least 12 strokes of the cane.

The woman said she enjoyed being a prostitute as she could satisfy her high sex drive and make money at the same time.
'I realise I am in high demand as the men need not feel responsible if I become pregnant,' she said. She added that she married a man chosen by her family at the age of 14 before her husband left her after a week.
The woman said her daughter was with her every night to ensure no one suspected her late night activities. 'I do not care as long as I have money to put food on the table and buy necessities like milk and diapers,' she said.

Man jailed and caned for molesting girl below 6
A relief cabby who molested a girl below six about 14 years ago was jailed for 20 months and ordered to be given six strokes of the cane on Tuesday.
Peter Lee Chee Soon, 46, had pleaded guilty to rubbing himself on the girl at his flat in Yishun sometime between 1997 and June 1998.
The court heard that the parents of the girl, then about five or six, had entrusted the victim and her older brother by about a year to his care as they felt he had an affinity with children and believed that he was trustworthy.
Lee would take the children out. The parents would also leave their two children in his care at his home. On a day between January 1997 and June 1998, Lee took the children to his home. He led the victim to his bedroom and sexually abused her.

A full-time national serviceman was charged in court on Wednesday with committing an obscene act on a child and having sex with the underage girl.

Worse, when the 12-year-old schoolgirl confided about her ordeal to a cousin of the suspect, he too raped her, Harian Metro reported.

He allegedly forced her to follow him home where he was believed to have drugged her with a stick of cigarette, causing her to pass out.
“When she regained consciousness, the victim realised that she had been raped,” the police source said, adding that the attacker threatened to hurt her if she told anyone about the incident.
Frightened, the girl kept silent, emboldening the suspect to abuse her repeatedly.
Her nightmare grew worse when the suspect's cousin also raped her when she went to him for help in August.
Unable to bear the torture, the girl finally lodged a police report at the Pantai police station on Tuesday.

Chinese man held on suspicion of keeping sex slaves
BEIJING (AP) - A Chinese man has been detained on suspicion of keeping six women in a basement as his sex slaves for two years and killing two of them.
A publicity official for police in Luoyang city in central Henan province says the suspect, Li Hao, is in police custody. The official said Friday that the suspect is an employee of the city's technological supervision bureau. The official gave only his surname, Li, as is common for Chinese officials.
The Southern Metropolis Daily newspaper reported that Li kidnapped the women, who worked as hostesses at karaoke bars, and locked them in two small rooms he dug beneath a rented basement away from his home.
The paper said he then raped the women and killed two of them, and that one of the women escaped and went to the police.

Woman made to have sex with fortune teller
A couple trashed a fortune teller’s stall outside a the popular Kwan Im temple in Singapore on Thursday.
The fortune teller, identified as a plump man in his 30s, had allegedly swindled the couple and had sex with the couple’s daughter in a supposed exorcism.
The couple, who are in their 50s, has a sickly daughter in her 20s. They had gone to the temple to pray for their daughter’s health and were approached by the fortune teller who offered his help.
The couple was surprised when the fortune teller somehow knew they have a sickly daughter. He told them that their daughter was possessed by evil spirits, which needed to be exorcised.
He offered to perform the exorcism at their home.
After the deed, the couple paid the man a few hundred dollars for his "help", only to find out later from their daughter that she was made to have sex with him.
The furious couple went back to the man's stall to confront him but could no longer find him.
They resorted to thrashing his stall.
The duo created a commotion as they overturned tables and chairs, then smashed the stall's altar and incense burner.
Eyewitnesses say the couple was swearing loudly and the woman was heard wailing "You cheated our money and took advantage of our daughter!"
No one went up to stop them from thrashing the stall.
There are more than ten other fortune tellers in the area, many of whom say the missing fortune teller is a con man who knows nothing. The man has also been missing for the past few months.

Italian student killed in 'sex game gone wrong'
ROME (AFP) - Italian prosecutors have charged a 42-year-old man with killing a female student who suffocated during a sex-game gone wrong, media reported on Sunday.
Soter Mule tied Paola Caputo, 24, to another woman while performing a Japanese sado-masochist technique known as 'shibari.' The engineer was originally held for murder but authorities in Rome believe Caputo and her friend consented to the game.
Investigators have so far established that the three spent the night drinking and using drugs at a club before Caputo, said to be Soter's long-term girlfriend, suggested going to the car park of the building in a Rome suburb where she worked as a caretaker.
The two women remained clothed while they were tied tightly together with the same rope and suspended two metres off the ground. Frenchman fined for lack of sex with wife
PARIS - A Frenchman has been ordered to pay his ex-wife £8,500 (S$16,500) in damages for failing to have enough sex with her during their marriage.
The 51-year-old man was fined under Article 215 of France's civil code, which states married couples must agree to a "shared communal life".
A judge has now ruled that this law implies that "sexual relations must form part of a marriage".

Molester who assaulted victim's family members jailed, caned
SINGAPORE: He molested a 17-year-old girl in a lift outside her home and later assaulted her family members who came to her rescue when they heard her screams. For this, Hamzah Hambali will now spend 39 months behind bars and receive six strokes of the cane.
The 26-year-old waiter had entered a lift of an apartment block with the teenager who was on her way home at around 11.00pm on January 23.
The court heard that he grabbed her just as she was about to get out of the lift when it reached her floor. After pinning her down to the floor, Hamzah molested the girl, who screamed loudly.
When they heard her cries, the girl's mother and 16-year-old sister, who were at home, rushed towards the lift and found the teenager on the ground. The 42-year-old mother pulled her daughter up and the teenager retreated to a corner of the lift landing, crying.
The mother confronted Hamzah who was still in the lift, and demanded to know what he had done to her daughter. Instead of answering her, he rushed out of the lift and slapped her twice on the face. He then punched the woman's other daughter, who was standing behind her mother, on the jaw, before he fled the scene.
Hamzah has been in and out of court since 1999. In 2004, he was jailed for three months and given three strokes of the cane for vandalism.
Two years later, he was convicted of offences including housebreaking and was sentenced to five years' jail.

'Sextortion' hacker jailed for six years in US
LOS ANGELES – A Mexican immigrant was jailed for six years in California on Thursday for hacking into computers and “sextorting” women into sending him sexually explicit videos and images.
In what a judge called “cyberterrorism,” Luis Mijangos, 32, hacked into dozens of computers and tapped into microphones to hear users’ private conversations and webcams to watch them while they were unaware.
Mijangos pleaded guilty in March 2011 to computer hacking and wiretapping, using malicious software in one case to hack into a teenage girl’s computer, take control of her webcam and obtain naked photos of her.
Court documents described how he made victims download the malware by sending them files which appeared to be popular songs or videos.
Having taken control of their computers, he would obtain images and videos of female victims and “sextort” them by threatening to post intimate material on the Internet unless they sent him more intimate images and videos.
“We now live in a world gone digital, relying on our personal computers for everything from banking, to learning, to intimate communications with friends and family,” said US Attorney Andre Birotte Jr.
“Mr. Mijangos invaded the sanctity of many personal digital worlds and used intimate content to victimize and prey upon unsuspecting victims,” he added. As well as stealing financial information, Mijangos “read victims’ emails and IMs, watched them through their webcams, and listened to them through the microphones on their computers.
“Often, he then used the information he obtained to play psychological games with his victims,” the court papers said. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) welcomed the sentence, but said the crimes were part of a worrying trend.
“The sentence imposed on Mr. Mijangos is appropriate based on the chilling impact his behavior had on scores of young women,” said FBI Los Angeles office chief Steven M. Martinez.
“The FBI has seen a rise in similar cases based on the exploitation of emerging technologies by criminals. “It’s my hope that this sentence serves as a warning for victims of Internet predators to advise law enforcement or a trusted source when threatened, and always refrain from sending compromising photographs via cyberspace.” Source: Interacksyon

Business caters to sexual needs of disabled
“The disabled too have sexual desire. Well, of course they do, it goes without saying, and yet most care facilities ignore the fact.”
One that doesn’t is a Niigata-based organization called White Hands. “It’s very businesslike,” writes investigative journalist Kaori Kawai in Shukan Post (Aug 20-27). “A young woman slips on a pair of disposable gloves. She removes the man’s trousers and underwear and covers him with a bath towel. She dips a cloth in warm water and rubs him down. She slips a condom on him. The woman does not remove her clothes, engages in no superfluous sexual contact, uses no erotic DVDs or books. The entire procedure lasts 5 to 10 minutes on average.”
White Hands was established in 2008. As of June 30, it had 155 clients scattered all over the country. Some 80% of them are men suffering from cerebral palsy – either singles who due to paralysis cannot masturbate, or married and unable, for the same reason, to engage in sex without assistance.
Kawai introduces us to one regular client. Akio Sudo, 54, lives in Joetsu, Niigata Prefecture. The youngest of eight children, he never went to school; his father went bear-hunting with the disabled child strapped to his back. He was 20 when his father died. He went to live in an institution, vowing to get out of it someday and live independently. It took him 20 years to develop the skills and confidence, but he did it.
Being in a wheelchair hardly seemed to confine him. He made frequent train trips on his own from Joetsu to Tokyo for the sexual services there. This was before the age of barrier-free convenience. If his wheelchair got stuck or upended, observing how people reacted became part of the fun. With an attitude like that, you can go far.
But his disease progressed, his paralysis worsened. So he turned to the Internet and discovered White Hands. The charge: 3,500 yen for 15 minutes, 5,500 yen for 30 minutes, 9,500 yen for an hour – plus transportation.
“Sex, like eating, sleeping or excreting, is a basic bodily function,” says Shingo Sakatsume, White Hands’ 29-year-old director and founder. He works out of an office in his mother’s house. A graduate of Tokyo University’s literature faculty, he had little love for academics and less for the business world. As a student he had done his share of enjoying paid sexual services.
He always wondered, he tells Kawai, why both clients and service providers seemed to feel guilty about what they were doing. He wasn’t sure what he wanted to do with his life, but thought it might have something to do with “making the ero-entertainment industry more wholesome.” He seems to have taken a big step in that direction.

Man dumps wife for refusing ‘skirt sex’
A MAN has dumped his wife for refusing to wear a skirt when having sex with him, Sin Chew Daily reported.
Wang Wen Yuan from Singapore said he was introduced to his Chinese national wife by a roast duck shop owner in September last year.
“I fell in love with her at first sight and we got married a month later,” said the 40-year-old clerk.
But the happy times did not last.
Wang kicked his wife, 27, out of the house two months later because she refused to wear a skirt and have sex with him.
In May, the wife returned to his side after agreeing to do all that he wanted.
“I promised to give her S$100 (RM247) on the first night, and S$300 (RM740) every month after that,” he said.
But she still failed to meet his “skirt sex” demand. Two weeks later, Wang chased her out of the house again.

MALE TUTOR SEXUALLY ABUSED BOYS AGED 8 - 13
THE boys came to him for tuition, some as young as eight years old.
They looked up to him as their teacher. At times, he would ask them to stay behind after class.
But instead of helping his pupils with their schoolwork, the 50-year-old subjected them to a harrowing ordeal of sexual abuse.
He would order them to strip, blindfold them and even video his crimes.
In all, the bespectacled, stooped man abused eight boys over two years at a tuition centre in the north-eastern part of Singapore. The youngest was eight and the oldest, 13.
Yesterday, he was convicted of sexual assault and molestation. He was convicted of five of 36 charges against him. Another 19 were taken into consideration.
The tutor, who is single, cannot be named to avoid identifying his victims. He worked at the centre for nearly 20 years before targeting his first victim in 2007, the court heard.
A year later, he began abusing a different boy, aged 11. He started by frequently kissing and hugging the boy. He then began asking the boy to stay behind after class. Once alone, he would lock the door and the abuse would begin.
Once, he took the boy to a corner of the tuition centre which was hidden from public view, and told him to take his clothes off.
The teacher also stripped, then began kissing the boy all over his body. He then performed sex acts on the boy twice.
He was caught in November last year, when two police reports were made accusing him of molestation.
When he was arrested at his home in Yishun, police found video recordings of his victims and their nude pictures on his cellphone.
The court heard that one of the boys, now 12, told a psychiatrist he “felt gay” and “different from other students”. The pupil said he did not resist because he was afraid of what the tutor would do with the photos.
Defence lawyer Josephus Tan claimed in mitigation that his client had been told by “ghosts” to carry out the abuse. He added that a psychiatric report had found him to be suffering from a “schizotypal” mental disorder, which means he suffered schizophrenia-type symptoms.
The tutor also told the psychiatrist that he had been molested when he was in Primary 4 and suffered hallucinations in which a 14-year-old boy told him to molest girls and boys.
The teacher’s extended family was in court yesterday to provide support, but declined to speak to the media. The hearing was adjourned so more information could be gathered for sentencing.

Taiwan hosts its biggest same-sex 'wedding' party
About 80 lesbian couples tied the knot in Taiwan's biggest same-sex "wedding party" in a massive gesture that organisers said Sunday offered hope that the island will soon legalise gay marriage.
Many of the couples donned white dresses and veils for the "Barbie and Barbie's wedding", which was held overnight in downtown Taipei, attracting about 1,000 visitors, including friends, relatives and curious onlookers.
"I feel very hopeful that Taiwan will legalise same-sex marriage soon," said one of the brides, 32-year-old stylist Celine Chen, who plans a honeymoon in New York, which in June became the sixth US state to legalise gay marriage.
Even though same-sex unions are not legal in Taiwan, the celebrations went on smoothly without police interference or protests.
Many of the couples kissed, hugged and posed for photographs while receiving an unofficial certificate from the organisers that stated they were now "united in holy matrimony".
The event climaxed with a couple exchanging rings and saying "I do" amid roaring cheers from the crowd.
But in a brief moment of sadness, some of the participants acknowledged that the marriages were not bona fide.
"The wedding party is fun but it's not real," said Coral Huang, who has been with her partner for eight years and intends to go to Europe to wed legally.
"Getting a genuine marriage certificate is very meaningful as it shows that we are being recognised and accepted."
Taiwan is becoming more open-minded towards its homosexual population, and the island's gay rights groups last year said they had hosted Asia's biggest gay pride parade, with a turnout of 30,000.
In an opinion poll conducted in 2008 by the International Social Survey Programme, a global network dedicated to social science research, 17.5 percent of Taiwanese participants said that homosexual behaviour was "not wrong at all".
While significantly lower than the United States, where 32.3 percent held that view, it was much higher than the 5.5 percent scored in Japan and 4.4 percent in the Philippines.
The cabinet in 2003 drafted a controversial bill to legalise same-sex marriages and allow homosexual couples to adopt children, the first in Asia to promise to do so.
But President Ma Ying-jeou has said that public consensus was needed to be reached before the government can move ahead with the legislation.

A man was charged in a district court on Monday with rubbing an ice cube on a woman's breasts in a club in the River Valley area.
Tay Kok Hui, 40, is alleged to have committed the offence in the glitzy Shanghai Dolly club at 3am on Jan 5, 2011.
If convicted of outraging modesty, Tay could be jailed for up to two years and/or fined, caned.

He demanded their BlackBerry mobile phones, and then asked the schoolgirl: ‘Don’t I get a kiss, then?’
When she refused, he dragged her down an alleyway next to the New Testament Church of God, threw her to the ground, forced her to perform a sex act and sexually assaulted her.
Prosecutor Andrew Chatterton said: ‘The girl was terrified. She was thrown on top of piles of shattered glass and rubbish. She thought he was going to kill her.’
The youth, who was charged with robbery, rape and sexual assault, appeared close to tears during the hearing.

Grandfather, 67, nabbed for raping 52yo widow 3 times
A 67-YEAR-OLD grandfather allegedly raped a widow who was taking care of his mother in Chabang Tiga, Terengganu, reported Harian Metro.
The 52-year-old victim, who lives in the same village as the old man's mother, had been taking care of the mother as she had problems with her hearing and sight.

National serviceman jailed for sex with minor
A FULL-TIME national serviceman was jailed for two weeks on Wednesday for having sex with an underage girl.
Keivin Liwan Wai Yin was 19 when he had sex with the 15-year-old girl at his home in Hougang between June 1 and Oct 31, 2009.
Liwan, now 21, came to know the victim in June 2009 through an online game Audition. They then started chatting online.
Sometime between June 1 and Oct 31, he asked her to go to his home to play computer games. They played computer games in the living room. Later he went to the bedroom to rest and the girl lay beside him and they had sex.
The offence came to light when the victim reported to the police in February 2010 after she was found to be pregnant. She was admitted to hospital and had a miscarriage.
A DNA profiling done showed that Liwan was not the biological father of the foetus.

Assistant chef held over rape-robbery
A 25-year-old assistant chef was arrested for robbing and raping a woman at a Damansara apartment at about 3am on Sunday.
It is learnt the suspect and two accomplices had visited to tell the 20-year-old victim that her boyfriend owed them money.
They took the victim's valuables including a television, CD player, mobile phone, clothes and some cash as settlement for the boyfriends's debt.
The assistant chef then raped the victim, who works as a sales assistant, as his two accomplices carted the valuables to their vehicle.
The victim lodged a police report on Monday.
A police team was sent to the victim's house to investigate, only to find the alleged rapist in the house he was believed to have been waiting for the victim to return home to rape her again. Police arrested the man.

A woman has been raped by two masked men in north Armagh while her three small children were in the house.
Police said a three-year-old, a two-year-old and a seven-month-old baby were in the house when the attack happened.
The men got into the house in Drumbeg South, Monbrief, Craigavon, at about 22:10 BST on Thursday.
The woman was taken to hospital for treatment after the attack.
Police from the rape crime unit are looking for a man who is about 6ft 6in tall, thin, with large brown eyes. He had a local accent and was wearing a dark V neck t-shirt, black trousers, dark boots, dark gloves, and a khaki green monkey hat pulled down to his eyes.
He may also have had a tattoo on one of his arms with a black outline and green background with black writing.
The second man was 5ft 10in tall, stout and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing dark clothing and a balaclava pulled down over his face with eye holes cut out.
Police have appealed for anyone with information about the assault to contact them.

Polytechnic student jailed for raping 13 year old girl
SINGAPORE - A 24-year-old polytechnic student was sentenced to 13 years' jail and given 15 strokes of the cane, this morning, for raping a 13-year-old girl.
The High Court heard that Wang Jianbin, a Chinese national who obtained citizenship here, got to know the Secondary One girl through a teenage magazine's pen pal column in Oct 2009.
They soon communicated with each other via MSN and SMS.
Wang's messages to the girl, who cannot be named because of a court order, quickly became personal and lewd.
Two months later, Wang forced the girl into allowing him to her home.
There, he sexually assaulted her and was arrested after her friends called the authorities.
Wang could have been jailed up to 20 years, fined and caned.

Australian woman sues over 'sex at work'
SYDNEY - AN AUSTRALIAN woman injured when a hotel room light fitting fell and hit her on the face while she was having sex on a work trip sued the government on Wednesday, claiming she was entitled to compensation.
The woman suffered injuries to her nose, mouth and a tooth and was mentally scarred after the glass fitting fell from the wall over the bed and struck her in the face as she had sex, her lawyer said.
A government employee, she was staying overnight at a rural hotel ahead of a meeting and has lodged a case in the Federal Court claiming she should get damages because the incident happened while she was on official business.
Her lawyer, Mr Leo Grey, told judge John Nicholas the woman was hurt in 'an ordinary incident of life commonly undertaken in a motel room at night', and she was not required to get official permission to have someone in her room.
'This is not the 1920s after all,' said Mr Grey. ComCare, the government's workplace safety agency, is opposing the claim, saying the sex was with an acquaintance who had nothing to do with work and was a 'frolic of her own'.

Australian jailed for making girl, 11, pregnant
MELBOURNE - A MAN who claimed it was acceptable in his culture to have sex with a child was on Friday sentenced to 10 years' jail for his lengthy abuse of a girl who became pregnant at 11.
The Victorian County Court heard that the man was from the same ethnic minority as the girl and had been a family friend when he began abusing her in 2008. She gave birth to a baby boy in October 2010.
In defending his actions, the 31-year-old, whose name and ethnicity were suppressed, told authorities that 'there were no restrictions on age' in his culture when it came to choosing a sexual partner. But Judge Lisa Hannan said the man's conduct had been 'abhorrent to anyone with a shred of decency or moral compass' as she sentenced him on charges of persistent sexual abuse of a child under 16 and child stealing.
'Whether or not it may or might have been acceptable in any culture in any part of the world is irrelevant,' she said, Melbourne's Herald-Sun newspaper reported. 'You knew what you were doing was wrong,' she added.
Hannan said the girl involved was a person entitled to trust him and he had grossly and repeatedly betrayed her. 'You robbed her of her childhood. You took away her self respect and made her feel guilty for something which was entirely your fault,' she said.
The man, who has already served close to a year in prison, was handed a 10-year sentence with a non-parole period of seven years.

Teenager arrested for necrophilia
A male teenager was arrested Wednesday for sexually violating the corpse of a woman who had fallen from an apartment following an apparent suicide.
The 16-year-old high-school student told police that he wanted to see "what would happen."
The incident happened in an apartment complex in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province on Monday.
According to police, he found the 68-year-old woman dead in a garden at 3:40am He sexually violated the body and then reported finding her to the police, they said.
Police began interrogating him because some suspicious traces were found on her corpse and his statements were contradictory.
He eventually confessed to the crime. Police are looking into whether he is mentally ill.
CCTV footage showed her carrying a plastic chair in the elevator, indicating that she may have killed herself, police added.

Poly student molested 4 fellow students
A POLYTECHNIC student was sentenced to six months' jail and fined $600 on Monday for outrage of modesty and other offences. Jee Guang You, 24, was studying at Nanyang Polytechnic when he molested four victims at the library of the Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 premises last November.
He admitted to five of nine charges - two each of outrage of modesty and insulting modesty, and one of theft of undergarments.
A Community Court heard that Jee was found to be suffering from paraphilia and fetishism by an Institute of Mental Health doctor.
His lawyer Steven Lam said his client's family would make sure that he received proper treatment and monitor him closely. He said Jee, a former N-level and ITE student, got into the polytechnic through sheer hard work.
The court backdated Jee's sentence to Dec 3 last year, which means he was released from prison on Monday.
He could have been jailed for up to two years, fined, caned or received any of the combination. The maximum for insulting modesty is one year and a fine; and for theft, three years and a fine.

Youth Rapes Bridal Shop Owner at Knife Point
KAJANG: A bridal shop operator was raped at knife point by a youth who had initially pretended to order a suit for his wedding.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rashid Wahab said the incident occurred at around 11am when the 29-year-old woman was attending to a potential customer at her shop at Bandar Rinching here.
“The 19-year-old youth entered the shop in the pretence of ordering some attire for his wedding and started talking to the shop owner.
“Moments later, he pulled out a knife and locked the shop’s main door, before ordering the woman to strip naked,” he said.
ACP Abdul Rashid said the man then forced himself on the woman and raped her.
He said the rapist was caught when the woman’s husband came to the shop and overpowered him before calling the police.

Hair Stylist Keeps Armed Robber as Sex Slave
In what is either the weirdest Russian crime story of the year so far or a new low in yellow crime journalism, a female hair stylist in the Kaluga region is suspected of holding an armed robber in captivity as a sex slave for two days after he unsuccessfully tried to knock over her beauty salon.
Attentive Crime Watch readers will need little more than the first paragraph of this post to understand that this bizarre saga was relayed by the intrepid crime hacks over at the web site Life.ru, which, together with newspaper Tvoi Den, is setting the bar extremely high for sensationalist scoops.
According to Life.ru, the events unfolded on the evening of March 14 as the stylist was wrapping up her shift at the salon in the Kaluga region town of Meshchovsk.
The robber, a 32-year-old man identified by Life.ru as "Viktor," burst into the salon at around 5 p.m. waving a pistol and ordered all of the stylists and clients to hit the floor and toss him their money.
At this point, 28-year-old Olga, whom Life.ru describes as a "delicate" girl trained in martial arts, was apparently still standing when she offered to hand over her cash. But when Viktor tried to accept her contribution, Olga surprised him with a quick punch to the chest, knocking the wind out of him before she flipped him to the ground.
Olga proceeded to tie Viktor up with a hair-dryer cord, gagged him and dragged him into a storage room.
Curiously, Life.ru reports, Olga instructed the others to keep working, telling them that the police would soon arrive.
But this feel-good moment for the good guy proved ephemeral. Things soon turned ugly, according to Life.ru.
The police did not come. And after the other stylists and clients went home for the evening, Olga told Viktor to "take off his underwear" and, with apologies to John Cougar Mellencamp, let her do as she pleases, lest she call the cops, Life.ru said.
She tied him to the radiator with handcuffs covered in frilly pink fabric, gave him some Viagra and had her way with him several times over the next 48 hours. When she finally let him go on the evening of March 16, Viktor had been "squeezed like a lemon," Life.ru reported.
First, he went to the hospital to have his injured genitals treated; then he went to police and filed a complaint asking that Olga be brought up on criminal charges for committing "actions of a sexual nature" that left him with injured sexual organs, according to a copy of the complaint posted on Life.ru.
Olga was apparently incensed when she learned of the complaint. She had, after all, even tried to be nice to her purported captive.
"What a jerk," Life.ru quoted her as saying. "Yeah, there were a few times. But I bought him new jeans, gave him food and drink, and gave him 1,000 rubles when he left."
The following day, Olga filed a complaint with police, asking that Viktor be charged in the salon robbery. Life.ru posted a copy of her statement as well.

Teenager faces additional charges of molest
SINGAPORE: A 15-year-old boy who was charged in court last week with one count of molest is now accused of outraging the modesty of three other girls.
The teenager, who cannot be named due to his age, allegedly molested the girls in the lifts of Bukit Batok apartment blocks between April and June this year.
He is also believed to have insulted the modesty of four other girls in the neighbourhood within the same period.
The teenager allegedly unzipped his trousers and exposed himself to one of them.

US woman cuts off husband's penis
LOS ANGELES - A 48-YEAR-OLD Californian woman was arrested for drugging her estranged husband's dinner then cutting off his penis, saying he 'deserved it', police said on Tuesday.
In an incident recalling the infamous 1993 case of John Wayne Bobbitt - who had his penis reattached after a similar event - Catherine Becker was booked for poisoning and assault with a deadly weapon after she tied her husband to the bed on Monday in Garden Grove, south-east of Los Angeles.
The woman, who was in the process of divorcing her 51-year-old husband, called 911 to declare a medical emergency after throwing his severed member in the garbage disposal, said police spokesman Jeff Nightengale.
'Officers arrived and located a male victim tied to the bed and bleeding from his groin area,' he said. 'The female, identified as his wife, had used an unknown type poison and/or drug in the male's food to make him sleepy. She tied him to the bed and as he woke the female cut off his penis with a knife. The female tossed the penis in the garbage disposal and turned the disposal to the 'On' position.'
Despite that, pieces of the severed member were recovered and taken to hospital, although it was not known if surgeons would be able to re-attach them. After arriving at the scene police untied the man, and seized a rope and 24.5cm kitchen knife as evidence. 'The initial investigation determined that the two are married and going through a divorce,' said Mr Nightengale said.
'The suspect made dinner for the victim and the male told detectives that he believed something was wrong with his food. The victim went to lie down, and he woke up tied to the bed with his wife tugging his clothes off. The suspect grabbed the victim's penis and cut it off,' he said, adding that then 'The suspect called 911 and told responding officers that he 'deserved it'.' The woman, who was also booked for aggravated mayhem, false imprisonment, and spousal abuse, was being kept in custody in lieu of US$1 million (S$1.23 million) bail, he added. The man, who identified himself as Hisyam, said he had bedded 17 women and even took money from them during the past 11 years.
Mr Hisyam said he had been addicted to sex after he slept with a girl while he was still at school. He claimed that he managed to seduce the women by selling them sob stories about his life, adding that he did not have to work because he received money from them.
'Nearly all of them are either naive, lonely or had been jilted,' he told the paper. Mr Hisyam said he began to have strange dreams and felt scared for no reason recently.
'I learnt later that one of my victims had engaged a bomoh to put a spell on me,' he claimed.

The short and slim-built student allegedly committed the offence on June 21 this year, at around 7pm.
He allegedly touched her buttocks.
He was arrested on July 6 at about 11pm along Lim Chu Kang Road.
The boy will be remanded at the Singapore Boys' Home for a week and his case will be mentioned again on July 13.

Man who had sex in his sleep cleared of rape
A man accused of raping a teenager was freed yesterday after a jury decided he was asleep at the time of the alleged offence. Stephen Lee Davies, 43, claimed he suffered from sexsomnia — the ability to have intercourse while asleep — and had no recollection of the encounter with the 16-year-old student.
The girl had been staying at Mr Davies’s home in Swansea when she became ill and was told to share his bed because his room was cooler.
She said she awoke in the night to find him having intercourse with her.
Mr Davies, a painter and decorator who represents Wales at sea angling, claimed he only realised something was wrong when he sent the teenager a text message the next day and she replied: “Go to hell, you dirty b------.”
During his trial at Swansea Crown Court, Mr Davies’s former wife, Angela, told the jury that he would often become aroused in the middle of the night.
“He was never violent and never forced me to have sex against my will. Sometimes his eyes were open but there was no one at home,” she said. She added: “It became a bit of a joke. I would say I must be pretty rubbish because he could not remember. Even if his eyes were open he would not remember.”
Another former partner said she could have entire conversations with him, as well as full sexual intercourse, without him waking up.
Dr Chris Idzikowski, the director of the Edinburgh Sleep Centre and founder of the British Sleep Society, told the court that Mr Davies showed all the signs of suffering from sexsomnia.
“It affects mainly men who are deep sleepers. It can involve almost any sort of sexual activity and could go on for 20 or 30 minutes,” he said.
Judge Paul Thomas thanked the jury for dealing with “a particularly difficult case”.

Martial arts instructor to get jail, caning for sex with girl, 13
A martial arts instructor, 46, who had sex with his then 13-year-old student was sentenced to 11 years' jail and 12 strokes of the cane on Monday.
In sentencing, Justice Lee Seiu Kin said he took into account that the girl was a willing party and that the accused was a much older man who was placed in a position of trust.
The married father of two, who cannot be named to protect the girl's identity, was convicted in May of three counts of statutory rape and four counts of sexual exploitation.
Although no violence was used, the man had abused his position and exploited the girl, said the judge in handing down a jail term of 10 years as well as four strokes of the cane on each of the statutory rape charges. On the four charges of sexual exploitation, Justice Lee handed down between six months to two years' jail.
He ordered the jail term for one charge of statutory rape to run consecutively with a one-year term for sexual exploitation, making a total of 11 years in jail.
The man has filed an appeal against his conviction and is out on bail pending the appeal hearing.

Chinese national charged with molesting Vietnamese
A CHINESE national was charged on Friday with molesting a Vietnamese girl in a lift at Haig Road.
No plea was taken from Li Yan, 20.
He allegedly touched the 18-year-old's breasts while grabbing and hugging her on Thursday.
He was remanded for a week for investigation as he is believed to be involved in similar cases.
He will appear in court on July 8.
If convicted, he faces a jail term of three to 10 years and caning.

Man charged with biting wife's genitals
KUANTAN - A RUBBER tapper was charged with hurting his wife by biting her genitals on Wednesday.
Mohd Shakri Ismail, 28, was charged with causing injury to his wife Roshapida Mat Sidik, 23, while trying to have sex with her at their home.
Mohd Shakri, who was unrepresented, told the judge that he had never hurt his wife.
The judge then asked him why there were bite marks on his wife's genitals.
Mohd Shakri stood silent at the question and pleaded not guilty to the charge.
If convicted, he can be jailed up to five years.

Pregnant woman raped in US home invasion
CENTRAL FALLS (Rhode Island) - THREE armed men broke into an apartment and raped a woman who is seven months pregnant while her 9-year-old son was home, police said.
The woman, who is in her 20s, was asleep with her son early on Saturday morning when three men kicked in the door to her third-floor apartment in Central Falls, police said. She was threatened at gunpoint, and one of the men raped her in a bathroom, police Captain James Mendonca said.
The boy was in the bedroom during the rape and 'might have overheard something', he said. The alleged victim told WLNE-TV that the boy saw 'everything'.
The men also took a game system and television set from the apartment, but the woman refused to tell police whether any firearms or drugs were stolen, Cpt Mendonca said. He said the stolen items have not been recovered.
The woman reported the attack to authorities at 3.10am on Saturday, Cpt Mendonca said. One suspect was taken into custody, charged and later released, Cpt Mendonca said. He refused to name the man or say what charges were filed.
The victim suffered minor scrapes and abrasions. She was taken to a hospital, where a rape kit was used to gather evidence.

A 17-YEAR-OLD girl in Kerala, India, who was allegedly forced by her father to have sex for money with up to 200 men has described her ordeal to the media.
Police arrested her father and 29 other people two weeks ago. The girl told police that her father threatened to kill the entire family unless her mother kept silent

He would use a date-rape drug on his victims and then get his friends to film the rape.
One of his victims recalled that Bellfied , a father-of-11, gave her vodka and coke.
The victim, then 13, said the last thing she remembers before she blacked out, was seeing pictures on the wall of the children.
The girl recalled: "I felt very panicky - one minute I was fine, then I couldn't remember anything."
She ended up becoming a cocaine addict and continued.
The 43-year-old also got her to also have sex with his friends.
The victim, now 22, said: "One time Levi told me he wanted to have sex with my 11-year-old sister."
"This really upset me. I told him he wasn't going anywhere near her.
"He then started saying he would wait until she got to the right age.
"He also told me he wanted to have sex with my mum."
Another victim, Milly Dowler was on her way home from school when she was abducted and killed.
Ex-Detective Chief Insp Colin Sutton said Bellfield fancied himself as a romeo and would go fly into a fit of rage if girls rejected him and would kill them.
Marsha McDonnell, 19, was bludgeoned as she got off a bus, 11 months after Milly was abducted.
Another victim Amelie Delagrange, 22, was ambushed with a hammer.
Sutton said: "Amelie and Marsha were probably killed simply because they rejected his approach while walking down the street."
A former workmate of wheel-clamper Bellfield told police: "I'd describe Levi as an animal."
Ricky Brouilliard revealed Bellfield offered to let him sleep with one of his teenage girlfriends and her younger sister.
He said, "His girlfriend was a naive little girl and he didn't treat her very well. Her sister was a tiny girl, 14 years old. He told me he had sex with her and he said, 'Do you want to buy her off me?'"

Lorry driver held for raping 12yo stepdaughter for 2yrs
A lorry driver was arrested after he allegedly molested and raped his 12-year-old stepdaughter over a period of two years.
Although the girl had complained about the acts to her mother, she did not believe her and instead beat her daughter up.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rashid Abdul Wahab said police arrested the suspect in his house at Batu 9, Cheras, on Wednesday after the victim’s brother lodged a report.
“He last raped her in November last year,” he said at the Kajang police headquarters here yesterday.
It is learnt that the victim had been living with her mother and stepfather since she was an infant.
ACP Abdul Rashid said the victim could no longer stand the beatings from her mother and stepfather, and had sought help from her brother who lives in Wangsa Maju.
The victim’s brother accompanied her to lodge a report at the Wangsa Maju police station on Tuesday. The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape and the suspect has been remanded until June 27 pending investigations.

5 years jail, caning for man who molested boy, 10
A PART-TIME cleaner was jailed for five years and ordered to be given eight strokes of the cane for molesting a young boy.
Desiyantoh Zainal, 27, was naked when he grabbed the 10-year-old and molested him at an HDB staircase landing in Bukit Batok on March 15.
The court heard that the victim and his cousin were playing when they saw Desiyantoh coming down from the staircase. He was naked from the waist down and covered his mouth with his T-shirt.
The victim claimed that Desiyantoh had asked for their names but they did not reply and wanted to run back to their unit. Desiyantoh managed to grab hold of the victim's left arm and pulled the boy towards him and committed the offence.
He has similar convictions in 2004 and 2007.
He could have been jailed for up to 10 years for the aggravated molestation. For appearing in the nude, he could have been fined up to $2,000 or jailed for up to three months or to both.

Police detain man on suspicion of violating 5 preschool girls
SHANGHAI - A male staff member of a kindergarten in Minhang district has been detained on suspicion of sexually violating five girls, Minhang police said on Tuesday.
Police said they received reports on June 16 from two parents that their daughters had been violated at the Shanghai Minhang district's Tongxing kindergarten.
Police investigated the case immediately and decided that a 35-year-old male staff member, surnamed Han, was a suspect. They detained Han later that day.
Police have been visiting students and parents since June 16 to further investigate the case.
Han might have sexually violated the girls when they took an afternoon sleep, according to investigators' initial findings.
The kindergarten is a privately run preschool. Its monthly charge is about 400 yuan ($76.45). Currently more than 200 students attend the school.
Parents said the kindergarten has been running for more than a year. However, approval for planning and constructing the kindergarten by Minhang education bureau was dated Dec 28, 2010, according to a file published on the Minhang district government's website.
The registered fund of the kindergarten is 400,000 yuan (S$76,450) and the entire investment is 800,000 yuan (S$152,901). The purpose of the kindergarten is to educate migrant workers' children aged from three to six, according to the file.
Han, the suspect, is a cousin of one of the kindergarten's supervisors, Shanghai Television reported.
A girl told her parents that a man at the kindergarten had been constantly "touching" her for more than a year, and the parents later found similar cases at the kindergarten and called the police, said a parent who spoke on condition of anonymity, reported xinmin.net, a Shanghai news website.
The kindergarten was still operating normally on Tuesday, according to xinmin.net.
A clerk with Minhang education bureau, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told China Daily on Tuesday afternoon that the bureau was aware of the case, and discussions about the case were to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, but he declined to make any comment before police have concluded their investigation.
The police are still looking into the case, according to the district police bureau.
This case draws attention to the quality of privately run kindergartens, which have been encouraged to open in Shanghai to satisfy demand for preschool education for the increasing number of migrants workers' children.
Earlier reports said the number of migrant workers' children in Shanghai who are of preschool age would increase to 200,000 by 2012 from the current 80,000.
To increase resources for preschool education and seek ways to accommodate these migrant children, the Shanghai education commission announced last year that it plans to build more than 400 kindergartens within five years.
These kindergartens will be built mainly in migrant population areas, such as Baoshan district, Minhang district and Pudong New Area.
"The government should increase supervision for these private kindergartens," said Gao Shuang, a teacher at a public kindergarten in the city.
"Meanwhile, a comprehensive training and assessment system should be set up for the kindergartens' staff members to ensure the healthy growth of children."
A local resident, surnamed Xie, whose son will enter kindergarten next year, said: "While setting up more kindergartens in the city, under no circumstances should authorities neglect the quality of instruction at these preschools, especially privately run ones.
"Unlike public kindergartens, teachers, facilities and education standards at private kindergartens are still cause for concern," Xie said.

Man allegedly used egg to rub woman's chest
A FREELANCE religious teacher was brought to court on Friday for molesting a housing agent.
Misti Talimin, 51, allegedly used an egg to rub on the chest of the 42-year-old woman at a flat in Woodlands on Dec 16 2010.
Misti, who is represented by a lawyer, faces a jail term of up to two years and/or a fine upon conviction.
No caning will be imposed for those aged 50 and above.
A pre-trial conference will be held on July 18.

Rapist, 53, dies while raping woman, 77
A CONVICTED child rapist in the United States died while raping an elderly woman at knifepoint in her home.
Authorities say that while he was raping his 77-year-old victim at knifepoint, he told her he wasn't feeling well and stopped having sex with her so he could rest.
Moments later he then went back to fondling her briefly before he rolled over and died.
Police believe the man died from a heart attack after cycling the 3km to his victim's house.
According to a local newspaper, the woman saw Gutierrez at a local post office one day before the attack. During the attack, she thought Gutierrez passed out from drinking because she smelled alcohol on his breath.
After he lost consciousness, the woman drove away from her house and called her daughter, who then alerted authorities.
