A MALAYSIAN teacher raped his four-year-old step-daughter when his wife was in hospital, reported China Press.
The daily said the man raped the girl when the woman, in her 20s, was admitted to a hospital in Johor for four days beginning Sept 22.
However, when the woman returned home, her daughter kept complaining of pain in her private part.
When she took the girl for a medical check-up at a nearby clinic, the doctor told her that the child had been raped, adding that parts of her body were bruised and swollen.
The mother reported to police.

Woman admits setting fire to husband's genitals

Man's penis nearly severed
GEORGE TOWN - A 32-year-old bus driver was beaten up and had his penis almost severed by two parang-wielding man at the Rifle Range car park here.
The bus driver was about to get into his bus to fetch factory workers when the incident occurred at about 6am on Thursday.
It is learnt that the duo ambushed the driver and forced him into the back of the bus. They then started to punch and kick him before slashing his penis.
The victim cried for help after the assailants left but no one heard him. He was only rushed to the hospital after another bus driver came to get his bus at the car park.
The victim is being warded at the Penang Hospital. George Town OCPD Asst Commissioner Gan Kong Meng confirmed a police report was lodged but declined to elaborate.

Jailed for nude pix threat
A CHINESE national who threatened to post nude pictures of his colleague if she did not give him him $5,000 was jailed for nine months on Monday.
Wang Bo, then a cleaner, admitted to threatening to injure the reputation of Ms Qiu Xia, 24, a room attendant, with intent to cause alarm to her between June 28 and 30.
He was fined $4,900 or four weeks' jail for having obscene films at a rented premises at Beach Road on June 30. The court heard that the 23-year-old sent numerous SMS messages from a cellphone to Ms Qiu to demand $5,000 or he would post her nude pictures on the Internet. She made a police report.
The cellphone was subsequently traced to Wang, who was arrested on June 30.
Investigation showed that Wang was repairing the victim's laptop when he found some of the victim's pictures in her laptop. He copied and transferred them to his own laptop.
He later threatened to modify a picture of her into a nude picture and circulate it. Further investigation showed that the victim was a friend of Wang's housemate. As Wang was unhappy with her frequent visits to his place, he decided to send her the SMS messages to frighten her.

Unprotected sex on increase among young in Singapore
SINGAPORE: New survey data released in conjunction with World Contraception Day on Sunday, shows that unprotected sex is on the increase among young people in Singapore
Sixty-one per cent sexually active young people between the ages of 16 and 19 surveyed have had sex without contraception with a new partner, a 12 per cent increase from the previous survey done in 2009.
Only 23 per cent of young people in Singapore consider themselves to be very well informed about contraception options.
This compares with 51 per cent globally.
The survey, which supported by a coalition of 10 international organisations with an interest in sexual health said there is a significant disconnect between young people's attitudes to accepting responsibility for contraception and what they are doing in their day to day lives.
It added that the results also highlight that confusion around contraceptive options is still widespread, with highly unreliable contraceptive methods, such as the "withdrawal" method still being viewed as effective.
The survey involved 25 countries and over 5,000 young people aged between 15 and 24 across Asia Pacific, Europe, North American and Latin America.
The survey results are significant as the level of unplanned pregnancies is a major global concern, particularly among young people.
Worldwide, about a third of the 205 million pregnancies which occur each year are unplanned.
In Singapore, the figure is about 2000.
President of the Singapore Planned Parenthood Association, Edward Ong, said with an increasing number of unwanted and unplanned pregnancies as well as abortions, providing education and supportive services is critical, especially for young people.
One healthcare group in Singapore that is stepping to the plate is the Singapore Medical Group.
It will distribute educational booklets at its two gynaecology centres in Singapore.

Woman raped in 'public' inside car in capital
A Pakistani man lured an Ethiopian woman into his car and raped her in public in the middle of the day in Abu Dhabi, local newspapers reported on Wednesday.
The man offered the Ethiopian a lift and took her to a street near the Khalidiaya park in the middle of the capital to rape her inside his vehicle.
“After hesitation, she accepted his offer and got into the car. He then tied her up and threw her on the back seat,” the Arabic language daily Emarat Al Youm said.
“He drove away and parked the car on a street near Khalidiya park at around 12 noon and raped the woman after beating her up.”
The paper said the woman was about to go to the police when he grabbed her and threw her back into the car. He then called his friend and joined hands in beating her up again to prevent her from calling the police.
A passing woman heard her screaming and called the police, who rushed to the scene and arrested the two, the paper said.
The woman told the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court that she was beaten up and raped but the convict denied the charges, saying he had sex with her for money.
The court adjourned the case to October 5.

A female teacher at an all-boys school in Merseyside has been charged with sexual misconduct against two pupils.
Hina Patel, 37, was working as a supply teacher when she allegedly engaged two boys, both aged 16, in sexual acts while at Birkdale High School.
She was immediately suspended after the allegations emerged earlier this year, and yesterday was charged on two counts of abusing her position of trust by sexual activity with a child.
Miss Patel, who had been at the school since September, was believed to be a wellbeing officer for junior pupils, and also helped prepare the school magazine.
The alleged activities are thought to have taken place over a period of several months.
Although the boys are thought to have been above the age of consent, it is a criminal offence for a person 'to engage in any sexual activity with a person aged under 18 with whom they have a relationship of trust, irrespective of the age of consent, even if the basis for their relationship is consensual.'
Last night parents spoke of their shock at the allegations. One mum told the Daily Mail: 'I am absolutely speechless. With physical sports of all kinds there are all sorts of things a parent can worry about, but this is one of the last things you'd expect.'
Birkdale High School's headteacher Gary Loveridge said the school was continuing to fully cooperate with police.

Security agents burst in on Ndusimo Mamba at a luxury hotel outside the capital Mbabane to find the minister hiding in the base of his lover's bed.
He had been conducting an affair with 22-year-old Nothando Dube, the king's twelfth wife and a former Miss Teen Swaziland.
Mr Mamba is expected to be jailed for a considerable amount of time, according to the Daily Mail.
Ms Dube, who has has been placed under house arrest, will reportedly remain under 24-hour surveillance for the rest of her life, and will have to live with King Mswati III's mother.
Swaziland is one of Africa's last remaining absolute monarchies.

But the Court of Appeals in Manila commuted the sentence to 40 years for each count, according to a court decision seen Friday. The defendant can still appeal to the Supreme Court. It was not clear if he would.
The then-13-year-old victim, now 22, said her ordeal began in January 2001, when her mother left for work in Hong Kong as a domestic helper and left her three children with their father in Los Banos, a township just south of Manila.
She said he forced her to have intercourse with him almost every day, except when she had her period or on holidays, when he would make her perform oral sex.
The ordeal only ended after she and her siblings spent a vacation with their mother's relatives. Reluctant to return to her father at the end of the vacation, she broke down and told her family about the abuse. Her mother returned home from Hong Kong and helped her file the case. -- AP

Driver robs then strips women
KUALA LUMPUR - A TAXI driver who robbed and stripped naked his two Cambodian women passengers has been detained by the police.
Police are looking for a friend of the taxi driver, believed to be involved in the robbery, Selangor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said.
In the incident yesterday, the two women boarded the taxi driven by the suspect at the Bukit Jalil bus terminal to go to Bukit Tinggi in Klang.
The women had just arrived from Johor Baru and were planning to return to their country after working as tailors for two years.
'Instead of taking them to Klang, the suspect drove to an oil palm estate in Felda Gedangsa, Hulu Selangor, before robbing them and stripping them naked,' DCP Khalid said in his Facebook as reported by Bernama.
The suspect then drove away, leaving the two women stranded.

A MAN posed as a schoolgirl on a social networking site and cajoled an 11-year-old girl to do indecent acts infront of her webcam.
Unknown to the victim, Poong Foo Yun, 25, a Malaysian, recorded her sexual acts, and later threatened to release the video onto the Internet if she did not comply with his instructions.
On Wednesday, the unemployed man was given a total of 19 months' jail on three charges. He had pleaded guilty to procuring a child to perform an indecent act; sexual penetration of a minor and sexual grooming in 2008.
Three other charges were taken into consideration during his sentencing.
Pressing for a substantial jail term, Deputy Public Prosecutor Kevin Yong cited several aggravating factors. He said Poong used the Internet to deceive the victim into believing that he was a 15-year-old girl when he was 23 at the time.
Poong, who was arrested at Redhill MRT station in Oct when he turned up to meet the victim, preyed on the young and vulnerable victim to satisfy his own lust, said the DPP.

The latest case was among a string of shocking mistreatment of domestic workers that has strained ties between Malaysia and Indonesia, prompting Jakarta to temporarily ban maids from working in Malaysia since June last year.
Police in Penang said they arrested the couple, a 41-year-old contractor and his wife, on Saturday for abusing their maid from East Java who they had hired since February this year.
The New Straits Times identified the maid as Ms Win Faidah, 26. Besides being physically abused, Ms Win claimed she was repeatedly raped by her male employer, with his wife allegedly watching them having sex, according to the newspaper. The wife would beat Ms Win if she refused to have sex with her husband, according to the report.
The Star and New Straits Times newspapers said the woman was being treated at hospital for scald and burn injuries on her back and chest. The Indonesian was rescued by a man after the couple abandoned her at a roadside last week.
The couple, who reportedly have four children aged five to 15, face up to seven years in jail for causing grievous harm to the Indonesian woman. The husband could also face a maximum 20 years' imprisonment if convicted of raping the maid.

Maid forced into sex romp
GEORGE TOWN - AN INDONESIAN maid has claimed that she was abused by a couple and forced into a threesome sex romp with them.
Her four-month ordeal ended when the couple felt they had had enough of her and chucked her by a roadside at Taman Cenderawasih in Nibong Tebal last Sunday, with RM30 (S$13) to fend for herself. She wandered around aimlessly for 12 hours before a good Samaritan took her to a police station in town the following day.
George Town OCPD Assistant Commissioner Gan Kong Meng said the victim, who looked traumatised and skinny, had burn and scald marks on her back and chest. She is being treated at the Penang Hospital for multiple bruises.
A medical inspection showed there were tears in her private parts, ACP Gan said at a press conference at the Patani Road police station here yesterday. The 26-year-old maid from East Java claimed she was raped several times by her employer, a grass-cutting contractor, while his wife would beat her up if she did not give in to her husband's sexual demands.
ACP Gan said the victim claimed the couple, aged 41 and 36, used a belt to hit her on the head, hands and legs. She also alleged that she was splashed with hot water and had her chest burnt with an iron.
The maid said she started working for the couple in February at their apartment in Jelutong here but the abuses only began in May. ACP Gan said police arrested the couple at 9.15pm on Friday after five days of trying to locate their apartment as the victim was not familiar with the area.

Transvestite fined for soliciting
SINGAPORE--A FILIPINO transvestite, who was arrested for for soliciting in a public place, was fined $700 on Wednesday.
Jaykyl Bilbao De La Cruz, 24, had approached an undercover cop outside the SummerView Hotel along Bencoolen Street on Tuesday evening to offer sexual services for $100.
After lowering the price to $80, they then went to the nearby Hotel 81 where other officers placed De La Cruz under arrest.
The foreigner was here on a social visit pass till Oct 6.

Teen molested five girls
A TEENAGER who molested five young girls over a period of 3 1/2 months was sent for reformative training on Wednesday.
Tan Yan Xu, 16, who was diagnosed to be suffering from depression and had obsessive thoughts, preyed on victims in Tampines between Sept 22 last year and Jan 5 this year.
A Community Court heard that he would either lurk in the stairwell next to the lift lobby or follow the victim home.
Once the victim entered the lift, Tan would rush in and molested her.
Last Oct 29, he got into the lift after a nine-year-old girl and pushed her to the ground, and touched her private part over her pinafore.
In another case on Dec 7, he cupped the mouth of a 10-year-old girl and groped her.
When the lift reached the sixth floor, he continued to hold onto the victim and jabbed a button to close it. He continued touching her until the 11th floor when he pushed her to the ground and fled, leaving the girl crying.
The maximum period for reformative training is three years.

Viet woman fined for prostituting herself
SINGAPORE: A Vietnamese woman who gambled away her money at the Marina Bay Sands casino was fined $700 Wednesday for prostituting herself there.
Thirty-six-year-old Duong Linh Thao talked to security guard 50-year-old Rames Algasamy as he walked past early last Saturday morning.
She offered the guard sexual services for S$200, a District Court heard.
When he refused, Duong "persistently offered to provide sexual services" to Mr Rames. He then called the police.
Apologising in court, Duong said she went to gamble at the casino but lost all her money. That was when she decided to commit the offence.

88,100 rapes in US last year
WASHINGTON - THERE were 88,097 rapes in the United States in 2009 alone, according to FBI statistics, but the crime remains one of the least reported and prosecuted, witnesses told US lawmakers on Tuesday.
'It's widely recognised that rape is one of the most underreported offenses in the United States with empirical studies estimating that merely 15-20 per cent of cases are reported to the police,' Michelle Dempsey, a professor at Villanova University School of Law told senators.
Roughly one in six women in the United States will experience sexual aggression during their lifetime and half of the victims were younger than 18 at the time of the assault, an investigation presented to a subcommittee of the Senate Judiciary Committee said.
Only five per cent of rapists are convicted and only three percent are imprisoned, Eleanor Smeal, president of the Feminist Majority Foundation, told the committee.
'Fifteen out of 16 rapists in America will walk free,' said Scott Berkowitz, president of the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network. That comes despite the FBI's classification of rape as second only in seriousness to murder.
Experts said a range of factors make rape difficult to prosecute, including the way it is defined, victims' fear, their desire to avoid humiliating witness testimony, and unsympathetic or incompetent policing. -- AFP

The incident was exposed recently when the wife returned home and saw her husband raping the girl, a Year Five pupil.
She pulled the husband away from the girl and slapped him.
Then she sent the girl and two other younger daughters to a nanny's home, leaving the man and a son at their home in Taipei.
The nanny, who felt the girl was behaving strangely, managed to dig out the real story from her.
She immediately took the girl to lodge a police report.
The father, 38, said he was drunk and thought the girl was his wife.
But it is learnt that he had regularly raped the girl since his wife refused to have sex with him two years ago.
He later cried and said that he regretted the act.
His wife has also demanded a divorce.

Teen rapes 99 year old woman
Australian police are hunting down a man who sexually assaulted a 99-year-old woman in Melbourne.
The sex attack took place last week when the old woman was alone at her home in Koornang Road, Ormond, The Age reported Friday.
A man, who the police suspect is in the age group between 17 and 22, knocked on her door and then forced his way inside between 10.30 am and 11 a.m.
The attacker then physically and sexually assaulted her for up to half an hour. He stole several items from the house and then fled.
The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Police have released an image of the man and a T-shirt he is believed to have been wearing during the attack, which bears the words "Al fresco" across the front.
The attacker is described as Caucasian, aged between 17 and 20 years old, approximately 160cm tall, with a thin build and brown straight but messy hair.
Detective Inspector Glenn Davies of the Sexual Crimes Squad said the attack had a "profound effect on the woman and her family".
"We're very concerned about this type of crime.This woman is a grandmother, and a great-grandmother."
"I think people in the community would be absolutely appalled by this," Davies was quoted as saying.
He said the assault left the victim "very traumatised" and she was in hospital for almost a week.
The woman who was pushing 100 received cuts around her face and cuts on her legs, and she was struck on the head with an object.
Davies said: "Obviously this callous disregard for this person is a concern to us. The person may have been loitering or stalking in the area before the attack occurred."

Teen guilty of oral sex with minor
A 17-YEAR-OLD student first got to know a primary school pupil through online networking website Friendster and decided to befriend her.
But within a month of their online encounter in August last year, Muhammad Saifulddin Abu Samad, a student at Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Bishan at the time, asked her for sex.
When they met for the second time in late September, Muhammad Saifulddin groped her.
He would go on to get her to perform oral sex on him the following month.
on Thursday, a district court adjourned sentencing for Muhammad Saifulddin, pending more information on his suitability for probation and reformative training.
If he is found suitable for such a regime, Muhammad Saifulddin may be sent to a reformative training centre where he would be confined for at least 18 months.

A WOMAN accused of willingly having sex with her father was granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal yesterday.
The 23-year-old technical executive was charged earlier this year with permitting her 46-year-old father to have sex with her in the master bedroom of their flat in Serangoon sometime in April 2008.
The father, a freelance plumber, failed to show up in court on a similar charge that day and an arrest warrant has been issued against him. Police investigations are still ongoing. The court then placed a gag order to withhold the name of the accused.
This is the first time any woman here has been charged with such an offence - which carries a jail term of up to five years.
Mr S. S. Dhillon, who represented the accused, told reporters yesterday that his client, who no longer lives with the family, was relieved with the outcome.
He added his client has been sent for psychiatric examination.

Norwegian jailed for child sex
SIEM REAP - A CAMBODIAN court on Tuesday jailed a 63-year-old Norwegian man for 18 months on charges of paying for sex with a teenage boy in Siem Reap, the country's north-western tourist hub.
Sletten Rolf was arrested in Jan in the province - home to the famed Angkor Wat temples - for soliciting paid sex with a 16-year-old boy in 2009.
The provincial court sentenced Rolf to three years in prison, but ordered half the term to be suspended. Cambodia's age of consent is 15 but all payment for sex is illegal.
Cambodia has struggled to shed its reputation as a haven for paedophiles, putting dozens of foreigners in jail for child sex crimes or deporting them to face trial in their home countries since 2003.

The father was supposed to have been charged in March but he failed to turn up in court.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Bogus cop forces boy to have sex with him
DRIVEN by his ravenous sexual appetite, a man posed as a police officer to intimidate a 15-year-old boy into doing his bidding, reported Harian Metro.
During the incident on Monday evening, the "officer", in his 50s, had approached the teenager at a cybercafe in Ampang and threatened to handcuff him.
Feeling intimidated, the boy decided to follow the man home to his apartment for "interrogation".
A police source told the tabloid that in the apartment, the man had asked the teenager if he took drugs.
"But by then, he could no longer hold in his sexual urges and started to grope the boy's private parts and even tried to sodomise him.
"He later threatened the boy to keep the incident a secret," he said.
The boy subsequently lodged a police report.
