KAJANG: A bridal shop operator was raped at knife point by a youth who had initially pretended to order a suit for his wedding.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rashid Wahab said the incident occurred at around 11am when the 29-year-old woman was attending to a potential customer at her shop at Bandar Rinching here.
“The 19-year-old youth entered the shop in the pretence of ordering some attire for his wedding and started talking to the shop owner.
“Moments later, he pulled out a knife and locked the shop’s main door, before ordering the woman to strip naked,” he said.
ACP Abdul Rashid said the man then forced himself on the woman and raped her.
He said the rapist was caught when the woman’s husband came to the shop and overpowered him before calling the police.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.
