Man allegedly blows over $287k on prostitutes

A 59-YEAR-OLD man from Singapore allegedly spent RM690,000 (S$287,300) on prostitutes over the past four decades but his wife said that after 40 years of 'wasting time' with him, she has no intention to divorce him.

Reporting the woes of the Malaysian woman, China Press said she claimed her husband had sought the services of prostitutes over 3,000 times during that period.

The wife, 56, said he had been visiting prostitutes since he was 16 and she only found out about her husband's appetite for these women after they got married.

'He thought I did not mind. When I asked him about it and he confessed, I was so angry that I wanted to commit suicide,' said the mother of two, alleging her husband visited prostitutes three to four times a week.

'He promised he would stop but he never kept his word. When he showed no interest in having sex with me or could not perform, I knew he had been to a prostitute,' she said, adding that her husband, a recycled product dealer, would do this when delivering his goods.

When interviewed, the man did not deny his sexual activities but said his wife had exaggerated the situation. 'I am busy with my work now and I hope my wife can forget the past. She checks on me every day,' he said. -- THE STAR/ANN
